There was A LOT of street gangs back in this era in Perth. It's hard to explain just how big this movement was in Perth back then, there were areas known for gangs, just like where you come from- and there were a lot in each area, fighting each other and the law... Where I grew up after the recession in the early 90's in Australia (my family lost everything and had to move to the ghetto) there were countless smaller gangs and numerous larger more well know gangs in each suburb. Race became a factor very quickly, so the Asians stuck together for strength in numbers- just like the middle eastern guys. They were so, so outnumbered by the Aussie/Aboriginal street gangs... It was all pretty out of hand for a while
