Scotlands population density is around 70 people per sq km, in England it’s over 430, England is massively more populated and there are no unpopulated areas or I would bloody move there tomorrow. England is the 2nd most populated major country in Europe., only Belgium is more densely populated - this all effects food security, air quality, happiness, health, all sorts of things. You’d think that if Scotland was that desperate to increase its population it would send a few big boats to the French coast, but obviously they don’t, just another political bag of wind talking nonsense

The argument that Scottish immigrants built Australia, Canada, NZ, etc., is not exactly a winning pro-immigration argument. Remember what happened to the indigenous populations of those countries in the face of mass immigration by Scots and other Brits. If anything, it's an argument against mass immigration. Alex Salmond is struggling in this interview. He correctly defines what a woman is avoiding the postmodernist trope of ones own truth and self identification, but then struggles with the problem of economic migrants. He was quick to quote Scotland's demographic problems, (which also apply to the Westcountry, east Anglia and rural northern England), though that does not apply to the central belt, but really does not get it about mass immigration impacts on much of Engand, mainly the SE, east, midlands and central northern England. There is enough data on the problems low skilled migrants bring to the UK, and yes, immigration costs the country about £40k in the first year for every migrant (ONS stats). It is a ponzi scheme, having to fill the low paid low skilled jobs for ever more with immigration. Never mind the environmental problems of a forever growing urban population in England. This is the problem of rhe globalists. I suspect Alex Salmond is a globalist. Pity Mike did not push harder back against Alex's comments.

He wants to take a walk through Govanhill, the former FM’s constituency to see what it looks like. Many have described it as a ghetto due to large influx of migrants from Eastern Europe. Not every economic migrant comes to these shores to work hard. Not every economic migrant pays into the UK tax system as many jobs could be cash in hand. Many live in extended families so there are lots of dependents. I honestly wonder if he would be saying the same as Sturgeon and Yousaf re transwomen if he was in power.😢 The idea that he could end up as FM again makes my heart sink as he’s probably still SNP at heart.
