Back again with some hopefully helpful advice today. In this video I talk about the benefits of understanding where to aim your tungsten in the joint and how it effects the puddle. Hope this helps, see you folks again soon!

Off topic here. What's a good technique for lap joints circular construction? And how do do you prevent edge melt? Mig pulse

@@markprosserwelds9419 at my place of work we have these things called bosses, its easy to get edge melt. Where I'm at im welding pulse spray arc steel. And I'm in tight spaces tight corners. On my back on my knees, i mean there's welds that you can't even see because of what we work on Defense work. Some stuff is a nightmare to get to. Just started this position. Had to pass 5 AWS weld tests both d1.1 and d1.2 1 inch both xray and bend tests. Its just getting used to the awkward positions i suppose. Also i have trouble seeing on multi pass welds. Like my last bead on cover pass. I have issues with blending it into the bottom bead. The way its situated is awkward. What lens number would be best i go with both 10 and 11. Some stuff im welding around things and getting used to transitioning gun angles is tricky. Im gonna try doing the backstep method on long beads. Being new I'm still getting used to running extremely long welds. Sometimes i have to stop but sometimes i have issues with start stops. They dont look pretty. Someone mentioned doing the backstep method that way your next bead has a better chance of blending into the previous weld. Also we use weld gauges too. We go by the d1.1 code criteria. Some stuff you just got to zap it uphill. Some stuff you do a full uphill weld. I hate that sometimes they have the machine programmed for 2 different settings depending on how many times you pull the trigger. We also have to go by wps depending on the section of the weldment I'm working on.

@@markprosserwelds9419 2 Questions.... Can you tell me why a person would use a 7018 over top of the 6010.? And not just keep using the 6010... Is it because its shallower but Wider... So you have the deep pen narrow 6010 rod 1st, then tie into it with the wider shallower 7018 to fill it... 2nd... Would u also know what makes One 120v welder able to run at 130 amps... But another 120v welder can only handle 80 to 90 amps on 120v.? What internal part is responsible for that Diff i wonder... Thanks
