Dubai doesn't let anyone who lives in the country for 5 years have a passport or any of the benefits that only Emiratis get, unlike us mugs. Corporal punishment in school is not the answer to deal with kids and antisocial behaviour! Alot of kids who misbehave in school have ADHD; Autism or depression; some are also from parents with antisocial behaviour issues, where they learn from them or rebel. Do you think by using a cane or slapping children who are struggling with these issues, is going to stop this, instead it just teaches them that physical assault is normal. It's the poor education system supporting them; undiagnosed learning disorders; and lack of support, which leads them to poor performance and social problems. If you believe it is right for teachers to punish kids by hitting or giving any other forms of physical punishment while they are already struggling with their learning disabilities or having to survive in living in dysfunctional families, is disgusting and inhumane. You need to get to the route of the cause, not lash out with a slap or cane.

Those that did, usually Downs Syndrome went to a dedicated school ADHD wasn't even heard of. There were no support services or mental health crisis teams. Most families had suffered trauma. WW2 had left a few of my class mates with only a mother. The dysfunctional families need to sort their lives out and actually Parent the offspring they brought in to the world. Its NOT the schools job, or societies to raise their kids!! A recent news report showed 1 in 4 kids going primary school weren't toilet trained! By the way, I was 10 minutes late getting to school when I was about 8 yrs old. I got 6 across my bum with a plimsoll, by a middle aged female teacher. I was NEVER late again, and I didn't grow up to be a female hating misogynist. On a lighter note, If I wanted that now I'd have to pay for it.
