It was our Queen who played a big part in his release and maintained a friendship with him until his death. Kenyatta wanted people who were benefitting from his countries produce to pay taxes and hire a ratio of African men and women and teach them a trade. It's when the political left in the Western world started to use identity politics/intersectional pespective (about 20-30 years ago) to explain what they perceive as the injustices of the world. After that identity politics have grown and grown, because the mainstream media and lot of people have simply fallen for this ideology, believing it to be a correct explanation about injustices, and holding to the belief that the political left stand for "goodness". For decades now the people of the West have been fed with the ideas that we must be ashamed of the Western world. And yes, a lot of Western countries have done some bad stuff historically, but the West have progressed from that, but still Westerners are taught to feel shame about their native countries due to identity politics.
