Well done, very easy to follow and shows the knot dressed properly because if the loop is in bottom rather than top it can turn it to a 90 degree angle rather than parallel. Helped me refresh my memory ready to rig for a 40 metre abseil this next weekend to a rarely visited mine. Loads of old wooded winches 🥰
Antonio, this is the best video out there demonstrating how to properly tie this particular knot. Thank you for being so patient and methodical. You’ve earned my subscription.
I liked and subbed because I forgot the method I first used . You are a professional!!! Perfect tutorial ever! Nice and slow with no hands blocking the camera. Top job. And the re lengthen process? No one ever showed me that method! Thank yso much! 🙂👍👍👍👍
Yep I remember my mentor telling me there was a loss of strength when double looping, still we chose it because bolting off in shale is not the most stable of materials , we had the loops much wider apart, fig 8 is also used on cow tails ect , good for another vid?
Thanks for your comment Barry ! Yes you can have the loops apart up to a maximum of 90 degrees!.. and yes if one anchor point fails the other loop will stand , pending the knot has been dressed correctly !.. the bunny ears is most definitely my knot of choice when We have set our own anchors !.. the first time you hang of them you almost expect one of them to snap lol!.. anyway yes we will continue with the knot making series and what knot to use on a cows tails should be on the list for sure ! Antonio 🙋🏻♂️🙏🏼
