It would be the biggest victory in Canada’s history but how much of a chance does Canada have vs Argentina? And what will be the keys to victory for both teams? #canmnt #seleccionargentina #messi
@@louiehernandez1325Mexico is so garbage that they couldn’t make it out of the group stage and now you want to hop on Canadas bandwagon? You should be embarrassed, once your country is out you should just STFU and watch. Mexico is an embarrassment
@@artemisgaming3919ecuador is better than your Canada. Ecuador could of won it, but the dt . Is no good . And put a player good player enner but having miss penalties before . And putting yeboah and Kevin almost at the last minutes. Was not good strategically. Even when ecuador tied . Also Argentina has a good goalkeeper. As to stop penalties kicks . Ecuador had 2 goalkeepers that were not in the team, that are good stopping penalties. It was the DT. Not very good . He had a bad reputation. But still for Been the second youngest team in copa America. Under23 , under 17 ,18,19. And all of came from IDV . Have of the squad plays in Europe. Still young . That's why II say ecuador is better than Canada. If ecuador had Alfaro. Ecuador would of won
I think they’re learning and that’s great! I think this is an opportunity for Canada to put the world on notice! The team and Jesse are aware the odds are against them! There’s nothing more dangerous than someone who has nothing to lose.
I do wonder if hypothetically Canada plays well & miraculously wins the game, would the pundits give credit where credit is due? or make excuses for Argentina. Cause other than Herculez who is giving some respect to Canada, nobody is giving them a chance. The match is played on the pitch not on paper and anything can happen.
It may have well been played on paper. Argentina knew it was over street the first goal and shut it down after the 2nd goal. Pretty boring for the last 40 min.
@@elche1976 idk thought it was pretty even in the midfield play, the only difference is that Argentina is way more clinical in the last 1/3 of the field while Canada is just not there yet. Some chances for Canada to make a game out of it but they just can't finish. That's what separates the elite teams from the average teams.
i agree, and his passing is still lethal enough compared to most others that he can float one or thru ball one to change the whole dynamic of the game.. (and im a cr7 fanboy not messi)
If Canada can shot-down Argentina defensively, they can win. So if their game plan makes this possible or easier for them to shot down Argentina's attack, they only have not to struggle with scoring on Argentina.. as we saw they miss opportunities.
What world class defenders Canada has to be able to play defensive game? Let's be real here. Canada shows some growth but not a quality of champions just yet.
It seems like Herculez is the only one on this panel that ever gives Canada any credit or respect... like, this tool Kasey Keller is talking about "oooh, they have won in the nations league or gold cup, maybe they'll be in the conversation if they win a few more..."... there's no way Canada is not the best team in CONCACAF right now, regardless of what happens against Argentina...
I agree with Kasey Keller... Canada has been great against subpar South American teams but haven't shown out against WORLD CLASS teams... Plus Canada hasn't really won anything in concacaf at all...
As a Canadian I'll take our best 11 over any team in CONCACAF, it's after that is when I will perfectly concede that the U.S. and Mexico are better than us. Yes the FIFPRO World 11 has only been around since 2005 but there's only ever been one CONCACAF player to make that squad and he shares the same nationality as me.
@@elche1976 England, France both grinded results to get to the semifinals and they don't get as much hate. As if getting results against Peru, Chile and Venezuela is not good enough. If Venezuela did the same thing that clown would be all praises. That's the reality dummy lol
Canada has made it to the semi-finals. That is huge for Canadian soccer in my opinion. Let's get realistic. Messi or no messi. They are never ever, ever going to beat Argentina with this squad. They have no finishers... Argentina should have had about seven goals the first game. They simply toyed with Canada. But good on the boys getting this far. Absolutely! Be proud!
I mostly agree. But Canada had a surprising number of quality chances in the group round game and even almost scored the first goal a couple of times. If that was to happen in the semifinal, it might make for a long and sweaty afternoon for the world champs.
@@dyingfromthelying 6 weeks in with a new manager and system... this is great experience for them and the goals should come as they gain confidence and gel. they certainly have players who can score, they just haven't been doing it together yet on this team. at least they're creating chances, that's half the battle taken care of.
The importance of winning a major cup like the Euro, Copa America, Asian cup, African cup and World Cup is the national pride you bring to the country. Which in turn inspire a lot of youth. Which then give you a golden generation of players.
8:20 That's a True statement. Without Lionel Messi Argentina is better than Canada.. but in what criteria? Let's not forget that Soccer/Football is also a Athletic Sports, not just the technical stuff. You have to run after the ball and get to it first !!!!
Soccer is not just running. Hoy have to be able to control the ball, pass the ball with accuracy, and have the 1st touch to beat defense and be able to shoot. They beat Canada in that all day. Technical ability >being able to run fast.
Do you know what the most frustrating thing about this game will be? Canada will go out with a man for man press starting in the middle 3rd, just like against Venezuela. But this time, the referees will protect the Argentines like they always do, and a Canadian player will get red-carded. Mark my words.
@toddschoonover5919 I'll play. Mine was also an observation. 'If this doesn't happen it's because of yadda yadda yadda". You call it prediction. Be honest. When you tag it with reasons why it won't happen, it's excuses.
@@elche1976 Reasons why what won't happen? I never said Canada wouldn't win. I said they'd play a very intense man-to-man press in the middle third and they would get a red card.
You know what if we were to ask the folks at US Soccer Federation Matt Crocker and Cindy Cone would say we value the Nations League rather then Copa America. LoL
They have to say this to drum up interest. Great story of Canada finishing above the 8th and 10th place Conmebol teams. Scoring 2 goals in 4 games with a -2 goal differential. Beating Venezuela, the Canada of South America, who hasn't ever done anything. It's a cool story they got here. They get to lose vs Argentina and then play and lose to Uruguay or Colombia. People say this tourney is rigged as Argentina has an incredibly easy path to the finals. And they they turn around and try to say how Canada had beaten great teams and played well? No, Canada is one of the weak teams. It is what it is. Congrats Canada on making the 3rd place game.
@@elche1976 naw b Canada is coming. This is part of our growth. Canada finished above, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil. Top 4 baybyyyyy
@@elche1976 you missed the chances Canada had. Also losing against the best team in the world and having better pass accuracy %, and having 49 % possession. Not bad. Did you see that or just wake up and look at an app at the score. DePaul type of comment from you
@GinoTopGun I saw argentina score in the first and everyone me the game was over. When they scored in the second and knew it was over.. . Argentina shut down. They had 60% possession at the time. And had dominated. I knew, you knew.... everyone knew, nothing was going to happen. Argentina did what they always do and just let Canada have toothless possession for 40 min. And what did Canada do with it? Nothing. Thanks for playing. Enjoy the loss. Enjoy your loss on Saturday. You have scored 2 goals through 5 games. Outstanding. Maybe you'll get lucky and score again in the loss Saturday lol
@@elche1976 that shows me you didn’t watch the game. We had two good chances to score. Toothless maybe like Debaby crying every time a Canadian was around him. Canada has some advantages, not many.. but they can't beat Argentina with those advantages. They have also some morale advantages, the biggest of them is BEATNG the world Champion. Soccer/Football teaches us that any team can beat any team any day, this ain't new and hasn't changed since more than 100 years. A recent example from the MLS, Cincinnati just beat Miami !! I don't see Argentina playing this game with too many psychological advantages, which is perhaps why their coach is talking like it's a matter of survival, but did he convince his players? On paper Argentina is the favorite and we can draw the same conclusion from the group game. However the most important factor in this game will be the everlasting principal of ANYBODY can Beat ANYBODY ANYDAY. It's on Canada to have a perfect game based on their abilities and also take advantage of any error the opponent may make no matter how small. It is nothing like the match today between Spain and france, as Argentina doesn't really know enough about the Canada Men national Team and their American Coach. Jesse Marsch has a tiny bit of an advantage on Argentina's coach but it's not enough, Canada Team has to perform and that's the most important factor. Jesse has to give them the game plan and make modifications as necessary. Argentina Player will be facing a capable underdog but not Cinderella. We saw Canada Men's National Team play at the 2022 World Cup and they're no Cinderella. It's not luck, its effort and determination, but with the prior coach he was too ambitious (naive) based on their level of experience. They were up to the challenge and capable to tie or win against Morocco in the 3rd game, what betrayed them is the EXPERIENCE. I think with Jesse Marsch they're more realistic in spite of everything else, and in spite of everything they beat 2 South American Team tied the third and lost to one. The players have also a chance to correct that stat against Argentina so that they will be able to say, beat or tied all South American Teams we played in the Copa America.
If Canada shots down the Argentinians, - Messi will not be a factor, I don't think - Messi is going to have a hard time against Strong Athletic Canada, if he plays.
Scaloni deja de mentir, lo quieren sostener a Messi por los negocios de la AFA/FIFA/MSL para que llegue al próximo mundial. Messi ya ni puede jugar en el Inter de Miami, Messi no está para jugar y mucho menos los 90´
