don't get me wrong. I am grateful for every video I can find that show me how to do it. This video, IMHO, is a little misleading. Note that the commentator says he did some work previously and knew the tranny was a little low. That, I think, is a great disclaimer for you if your experience does not match the commentators, as was my experience. I would point out that there are other youtube videos dealing with changing your Audi's atf fluid that don't have the disclaimer this one does. I think the point were my experience diverged from this video was when the drain plug came out and was quickly followed by about 2 quarts of atf. This video does not show that. My car clearly had more ATF in it than the commentators did. Other videos do show about 2 quarts coming out. Would also mention that other videos say to keep the transmission under 40 degrees C when you are refilling it. ATF expands as it warms. So - if you, like me, are trying to drain and refill your ATF, I'd find a video dealing with that and covers leveling the car and keeping the temperature below 40 degrees C. Otherwise a fine video.

Agree with @TeamKreepin. There’s no dipstick. The guy in the video touched on this kinda. You have to get the transmission into operating temperature so the fluid is all in the gears and ports. If you check it when it’s cold, the fluid is going to be pooled in the pan and you’re going to drain instead of check. So when it’s running for a while and operating, you just pump it in until it drips out. If it’s already dripping when in operating temperature, it’s full. Even if it’s full and you pump some, it’ll drip back out. It’s good to go kinda slow to know exactly when it gets full.

My 2004 Passat with a triptronic trans was way overfilled, (a flood gate came out) when I removed the inspection plug (BTW which was a biatch to remove)! The shop, that specializes in Audis and other foreign cars, must have not followed the VW protocol. What damage can be done by overfilling?
I hate those shops. I went to a “specialized” VAG shop and they messed up my transfer case on my Audi TT, they forgot to add gear oil after removing it to access the clutch of my car. Which is why I look at DIY videos like this one. I’ll never trust a shop ever again.
