What strength and endurance Lydia possesses, and I was truly touched by her Victim Impact Story. Only a person of true beauty in their soul could grant forgiveness after enduring what she’s gone through. As for Kenia’s father, I wish the world were full of men like him-the world would be a much, much better place if so. I hope nothing but peace and happiness for both victim’s families, they deserve it.

The fact that he went wandering for hours at night all alone looking for his poor daughters body in dumpsters. I can’t fathom what this guy had to deal with. He is a strong man who will get over this. RIP Kenia.

Thank you for showing Lidia speaking, and not speaking for her. People almost always think people with speaking difficulties are stupid, and can’t form coherent thoughts, and that they can’t communicate properly. They are smart, they can communicate, and they should be allowed to share their stories. She’s incredibly brave, resilient, and intelligent.

It makes me mad that they made a parent wait 72 hours to report their child missing. No young girl in this day and age would leave their phone behind. RIP and I'm amazed and glad that Lydia survived to put the monster away

Kenya's father was amazing. He was calm, and kept his composure. He dealt with Travis himself, didn't reveal any information that could've caused him disappearing, or anything. He has an iron strong will, genuinely.

The fact that Tony knew the devastating fate of his child with just a handshake from a complete stranger, is totally heartbreaking 😔

it’s heartbreaking to see how hard this father fought to bring back his daughter. he looked in dumpsters all night, alone. he didnt want anyone else in his family to carry the pain and possible truth. i hope he’s seeked grief counseling for himself. he did everything that he could.

Lydia at the end - “I won” hell yeah you did girl. You won that vicious war that you didn’t even agree to fight. You are a hero.

If it wasn't for the father the cases probably never would have been solved. I'm so sorry for all the victims and their family's. We need more fathers like him.

Legal update: in 2022 the Colorado legislature passed a bill that abolished the waiting period for filing a missing persons’ report for an adult and mandates that the details of the case be entered into the missing persons’ database within 8 hours of the report being filed. Definitely too little too late for poor Kenia, may she rest in peace, but at least a step forward.

The part where he talks about just wandering trying to find his daughter's body... absolutely heartbreaking.

It's disgusting that you can't report an adult as missing until 72 HOURS later. The chance of survival for them drops literally 70% after the first 24 hours. How does the police expect to even find them alive if they don't take action asap 😕

The fact that Kenia's father went dumpster diving all night breaks my heart. Imagine driving around in the middle of the night with a heavy heart, looking inside dumpster after dumpster, looking for the lifeless body of a person you care about. Absolutely crushing...

I hate that the judicial system has to work with deals. I understand it but the minute a monster like this says "I'll tell you where she is if you do this for me" especially when he's lied so potentially before is heart wrenching. Also the pain of being told "you must wait 72 hours". Please don't leave friends alone to go home. Always check in. Someone loves you.

I am so happy you referred to them as father and daughter. It’s actually a step father and other documentaries only referred to him as that. But he isn’t. Everything he did is what an actual father would do and those girls saw him as just that. Sad case but I applaud his perseverance.

Tony is the dad we all wished we had, what a wonderful person he is, and his family is so so lucky to have him! I hope this family can one day find some peace again.

I've heard her story before (can't remember where) and apparently the bouncers at the club are partly to blame. They threw her out of the club because she was intoxicated, but didn't allow her to get her things she left with her friends (coat, purse, phone, keys) and she was stuck outside with nothing. That's when Travis rolled up and well, we know what happened after that. If I remember correctly, his "creepy white van" was seen cruising the area like an hour before, so he was looking for an easy target. Those bouncers should've called her a ride or at least get her things so she could call one herself.

Her father was relentless. A brave, determined man. A hero. May his daughter rest peacefully

Waiting 72 hours before an investigation is horrific, I can't even bear to imagine what the families must have been going through. My heart aches for Kenya's father, he must have been going through so much and still had it in him to find his daughter

Bless Tony and Lydia for their unfathomable strength during the worst tragedy of their lives. I live in Denver and I remember when this happened. Lydia is clearly a very old and very wise soul.

When Kenias’ dad talked about going to a Walmart parking lot to lose it so his family didn’t see him break down that hit me hard. I couldn’t imagine something like this happening to one of my children and I don’t know how I would react. I do know that I really respect her dad trying to stay strong, even if it’s a facade at moments. He just wanted to do why he can to keep his family strong so the focus could be on figuring out what happened to his little girl. It’s sad and admirable all at the same time.

When Kenya's little sis met Lydia and hugged her then said said she felt like she was hugging Kenya... that got me!!! What a powerful moment. Great epispde!

I love how you don’t put the monsters name in the title but the victims. It just shows a lot of respect because the person who did that awful thing doesn’t deserve a title but the victim does they deserve to have their story told and not to be a side character in their murders story.

Listening to Kenia’s father talk about what he did at the beginning to look for her absolutely brought me to tears. Not only for her and her family but also because is reminded me of my own dad because he would have done the same thing for me.

Lydia was raped, brutally attacked such that her jaw and wrist broken, got bleached on her naked body and her house set on fire… yet she stand up in court and said she forgave him for what he did because she didn’t want to live in hatred 😢 WHAT A BRAVE, COURAGEOUS and BEAUTIFUL PERSON INSIDE AND OUT. I think no one on this world would be able to do that if not by God’s power. She needs to be protected at all costs to continue spreading her messages to the world…

Tony is a badass among dads. I don't understand why there is a 72 hour hold on reporting a missing person, when the first 24 to 72 hours are crucial in such an investigation.

This is just a lot. Kenyias dad is a great example of everything a dad can possibly be. Even today he’s fighting for all the women in the area by warning them and reminding them of the danger. He helps other families with children or adults missing currently. He’s a huge asset to humanity. Lydia is a phenomenal example of the will to live. She far exceeds my capabilities of forgiveness. I can’t say I’d be so able to do what she’s done. And that’s why she did in fact win. She ensured he paid for 2 crimes and made sure he only took 1 life. I have no idea how a human can be so strong. For as awful as this is, the ending makes it all somehow a little better. Rip Kenyia. You have never been forgotten and you are still daddy’s little girl.

72 hours ??? Seriously ? What message does it send to murderers "hey guys, we're letting you 3 days to murder someone, get rid of the evidence and run, so enjoy! " That's absolutely disgusting. If they started to look for her directly they would have get her body and he would have not assaulted his next victim. Awful.

This father’s love is undeniable. My father left early into my life, and he’s a terrible person, so I never got to experience love from a father. This father did not deserve this at all. I could feel his love and determination. I only wish good things for him and his family, and Lydia who’s stronger than I could ever be. ❤

Mr. Lee is a very intelligent man. He knew he needed to act. I am so very sorry that Kenia was murdered by this vicious killer. Mr. Lee and Lydia are two the bravest people I have ever heard of. I feel so sorry that they had to go through this trauma.

My therapist told me this and I feel like all victims of any kind of abuse or attack should also know it if they don’t already. Forgiveness does not mean you are forgetting the actions, or forgetting the treatment the person gave towards you. Forgiveness is meant to be selfish, it is a tool for you to begin to move on from the event. It’s to help you let go of the rage or sadness you hold towards the event and begin to heal yourself. It is not to reconcile, or to forget the actions of the person who hurt you, it is to help you see what happened as an event. A bad event, but not one that will continue to impact you negatively. Never feel guilty about not wanting to forgive someone, if you ever do, it will be in your own time.

I think waiting 3 days is outdated and wrong. But wow what a dad! He is the type of father I wish all kids had.

I absolutely despise the fact that a person has to wait three days before they can alert authorities. Most of the time, sadly, it's too late by then. Police need to take missing people more seriously. It's not just the drunkards who stumbled off, but the kids, the women who get taken outside a bar with their friends. It's not a "waste of time and resources". They are human beings, they deserve to be looked for and saved, not disregarded. Police, read this and save these people before it's too late.

Kenia's Dad is the definition of a man's man.. The way he cut himself out the situation at the household to take time for himself is a hard thing to do.. But he's all about his family.. big props to that man.

I usually don’t cry a whole lot through these stories but this one was on a different level. I can’t imagine the pain Kenya’s family and Lydia went through, and it is breathtaking how strong they were through this whole process. I’m beyond moved.

I find it incredibly ironic the mandatory 3 days they make you wait to file a missing persons case is also the most crucial time during a homicide investigation.

Out of hundreds of crime cases that I’ve gone through, I’ve literally never cried, with the exception of one other. This today and makes number two. Outstanding job @unseen. Powerful AF.

My parents wouldn’t even have gotten in to their car to go down the road to look for me but this father took step after step to try his absolute hardest for answers and I find that amazing when people can care so hard and deeply, even when they knew she was no longer alive they couldn’t rest until they had the physical body home with them. Strange when I first heard about Travis I didn’t know about Lydia’s story. She is SO strong for everything she went through, and I’m glad she keeps fighting to this day

This case really is heartbreaking, the father suspecting that she was spiked is so upsetting, as I myself have been spiked and to this day I still don’t remember a lot at all, I was just so so lucky to be with my best friend, as the man who spiked me was very aggressive when he saw me getting carried out from the pub to the car, he was trying to convince my lift home that he was my boyfriend. Luckily my lift home was also a very close friend of mine and knew that I didn’t know who this man was, he told the man to leave me alone, and the man started lashing out on the car, punching it, threatening us etc, honestly god knows what could’ve happened to me if I was alone/wasn’t surrounded by people that had only the best intentions. I went to police within the 3 day span to get blood tests and was turned away each time because they were “too busy”, the police pissed me around so much and didn’t end up doing anything with my case, and told me they went through cctv of the pub, and not once did either me or my friends put our drinks down (which is a lie)… so they told me they phoned the man up to ask him if he had spiked someone, and his response was “no”, as expected.. I live on a little island where you don’t hear alot of crime happening and it’s seemed to be a “safe place” to live.. I was so upset when I went on Facebook a week after receiving that news from the police, to see someone’s mum on Facebook saying “be aware that there are spikings happening and it’s not brought to public knowledge, as my daughter has been spiked tonight”. I am disgusted that the police brushed off my case when there was clearly opportunities to get evidence from me, and they weren’t bothered at all, I no longer have any respect for the police where I live due to them only focusing on throwing people in jail that smoke cannabis and not focussing on serious crimes and not bringing it to public knowledge.

I was almost brought to tears while listening to Lydia overcoming the horrors she was subjected to. What an amazing person. A goddamn unit of a woman. My heart goes out to everyone in this story. The ability for both families to bring something positive out of such a tragedy shows you to never lose faith in humanity.

I love hearing these stories. Although sad, it gives me hope hearing about all of these survivors, hearing their stories, and joining them on their recovery. Truly one of my favorite true crime channels

It’s unreal to me that there is people out there that can do these kinds of things to other human beings, I’m truly sorry that this girl had to endure such evil.

Having to wait x amount of time when someone disappears when they are 18 or older is absolutely ridiculous. When you leave all your stuff and just disappear, that's not normal.

I got to give props to Kenia dad, he did what the police should've been doing, what a great father do. He knew A LOT right away. And 72 hrs. Is CRAZY to me, I feel like a lot of missing persons and murder's will be solved if that bs didn't happen.

One part of this (out of many) that is so disturbing- the men at the bar that drugged her. They drugged her out of her mind so much that she fell vulnerable to this evil. That is evil in itself.

Kenya's father, is freaking amazing! She did better police work in the first 24 hours, then the others did. Should be wearing a detective badge. He's the one who provided the name, and he should be getting some type of accommodation for figuring out who the bleep Travis was. So many props to him! And so sorry for his loss and his family'loss.

Kenias dad and Lydia were incredibly tenacious and strong, along with the two detectives it shows that when people are passionate enough and diligent enough crimes can be solved, without lydais strength, kenias dads advocacy or those two cops diligence nobody would have ever known

Kenia’s Dad remained so strong. He kept his anger and sadness away from his family until he had to share it. I think his wife could have helped him there because he seemed so alone. I love what he is doing now in memory of his daughter by saving other’s daughter’s. Lydia is just amazing. I would like to think I had the grace and courage she had in taking back her power and her life. Even her sister found that strength and forgiveness. Those employees that refused her entry back into the club because she was so intoxicated was just as much to to blame for her murder.they saw the condition she was in and the least they could have done was to gather her belongings and call a family member or call her friends that was still inside.hope they feel comfortable knowing that they also had a major role in her murder
