Her polite persistence and excellent communication literally sealed that deal. Any other entrepreneur would have stopped at that point and walked out the door in disappointment. But she KNEW what she wanted and she knew how far to push it without overstaying her welcome. She brought that deal back from the dead. Very impressive

How could you bet against her? She was intelligent, persistent, and was willing to take on all the risk to get what she wanted. People like this in business and in life are insanely rare to find. When you find one, you don’t let them get away.

half of growing a business is the relationships you dont have and take time to get. the money is important but that phone call you cant make or take 6 months to get a return call will be the difference between failing and building a good business

It's basically what they call in Dragon's Den a "Punt". He basically threw them a bone because he knows he'll at least get his money back from the revenue generated from what they make just from being on this show.

He doesn’t know that he’ll get his money back. What he does know is he made them feel better about their sacrifice while they were on TV to make the show look good and then let the deal fall through in Due Diligence. If they research shows the company is strong, he at least has a de-risked agreement.

What was great about this pitch was it was a deeply emotional one but without the melodrama...no crying or pleading like some other entrepreneurs have done...pitch was emotional and Daymond's decision was also an emotional one...but no melodrama hence its great to watch.

this is important for every business during startup, don't be greedy, be persistent, take a deal which is not profitable (but covers the costs in short term and increase future cash flow) and there will be always a nice guy like Daymond John to come to rescue.

I loved her energy and relentless persistance! But as someone who's had a shoe company before, I don't think she completely solved the problem she said she identified - kids outgrow their shoes so quickly. The decorations are cute, but they don't really solve the problem. Me, as a parent, will still need to spend more money on a brand new pair.

I really feel for her, but the concept of $50 shoes for little kids breaks my brain, even if you're "saving" by being able to reuse the baubles when you size up. I remember going to Payless for cute $14 shoes whenever I outgrew a pair. At the end of the day, this is just a different style of Crocs with Jibbitz

That brought tears to my eyes. Her push her strength is a lesson for all of us. She wasn’t rude but she was very determined to not just say ah well. If I can an ounce of what she’s made of, I’ll be insanely successful. I wasn’t even convinced about the product but listening to her she thinking about her commitment to get a deal, sheesh. I’m ready to buy. That was… amazing.
