Brennan Norris they recognize it and make jokes about it but we don’t know yet if they will actually do something about it. I mean WWE listens to the fans, they make jokes about the complaints, hell they have even had Vince and his family come down and say they are going to address the fans complaints and fix them, but we all know that no change actually happened. I want AEW to succeed but I feel like there is just too much comedy and gimmicks going on. I feel sometimes like I am watching early 90s WWF. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt because fighter fest was a special occasion which was part of a video game event then an actual PPV. However the double or nothing battle royal wasn’t that good and had too many gimmicks, it was so obvious who was going to win. Basically it was down to 3 guys who had a chance and the rest were just jobbers or comedy acts who obviously had no shot at being in the main event.

Ryan Wilson All fair points. I remember Matt Jackson saying on a previous episode that he didn’t know about the future of BTE when the weekly show starts. It makes me wonder if they will eventually transition from AEW focusing on BTE bits to original programming. It’s easier to draw in a mainstream audience without inside jokes.

It's all a troll tactic at WWE and while it's been funny to me for awhile, I'd be all for shifting forward. The Internet rumors have fueled all the signing speculation and WWE is very aware and worried about competition. AEW is laughing at the concept because regardless its not going to affect what they do. The Librarian has run its course but I get it. It's going to make it to the first show, at this point that is obvious, but lets please let it go after that or at least give it some real legs to become something more than a "haha Vince loves stupid gimmicks" gimmick?

I feel like they've made it pretty clear from the beginning that the gimmick is a joke. The whole thing was introduced as a thing that "Tony wanted" that they've been forced into.

You should check out their Halloween episode from last year or the exorcism of Cody Rhodes. Don't think I've ever laughed as hard for BTE than for those 2 episodes. Plus neither one needs much buildup context to enjoy.
