So I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess that those are manifestations of Sun WuKong’s beliefs about himself that are reminding him of how he failed the people he cared about, causing them to get hurt. He’s reminded of how he let everyone he cared about down and caused them so much pain. He believes that he failed to be the person his master taught him to be and that he would be disappointed in him, which would be why he broke down when he saw his master. I DO wish the part where Mac forgives WuKong was canon or hope it will be canon in the next set of seasons (if we get any).

I love the detail of Wukong doubling over and grabbing his head after seeing Tripitaka. For those who don't know, Tripitaka would punish Wukong by calling upon the seal on SWK's head and it would basically tighten around his head and would hurt like a bitch.

I want Wukong and Macaque to reconcile SO BAD!! Thought they wouldve in the memory scroll but no dice. And Wukong having a breakdown with Macaque helping would be great, Ive read a few fics of both unglamouring themsleves and we see Macaque scars and Wukongs head scar, so maybe that could start something. But I feel like Macaque has a lot he needs to let off his chest. ESPECIALLY if Wukong did kill him.. so maybe he needs the breakdown and Wukong can afterwards. LMK has done a great job so far but the episodes are only about 10 min. I dont think that would be enough time unless thats a main part of season 5.. OR we have a movie and or special..😮🤞
