Edelmans comment about Belichick constantly creating an atmosphere of pressure inside the building (without it seemingly ever exploding) is exactly why he succeeds and his assistants who go off on their own often fail. The coaches are subject to that same kind of pressure and you can tell how they dealt with it by how the teams they would coach ended up.

So that 1st punt return TD was the one where Belichick told Welker "Ever hear of Wally Pipp?" Because Welker was supposed to be playing, but decided he didn't feel up to it. You're Lou Gehrig then Jules!! LOL

Great insight into what makes Bill special. It wasn't all Brady, this guy (Bill) probably made everyone as good as they could be. Seems to have the perfect mindset and aura for a coach.

Bill's a great defensive coach, but without Brady he has a losing record. Brady covered up a lot of his offensive shortcomings and his drafting issues.

0:30 perfect example is Jonas Gray. He ran for like 4 touchdowns in one game and made the cover of Sports Illustrated as a Patriot RB the next week. I think he spoke up about getting a raise or more play time, and Bill benched him and traded him. He never scored again.

NFL Films should bring back ‘This is Your Life’ Everyone who likes football would be glued to the TV. Imagine Bill Parcells sitting down and in walks LT, Bavaro, Simms etc one at a time. All you need is a studio, and some plane tickets. Make a whole season and then change the studio set/host for Season 2+ to keep the surprise factor alive. Your welcome. I’ll accept 4% of the royalties, Mr. Netflix.

Bill is the best, Doc Rivers had the best coaching quote, “I’m the same coach I’ve just got better players now” Bill needs another Brady or LT like any coach does.

To those that think Robert Kraft is considering firing Bill Belichick - imagine you are a billionaire with a life-long love of a football team that had never won the SB. You scheme for many years to buy the football club and after finally buying the club you spend 6 fruitless years before you give up a 1st round pick to get the coach you believe will get you your dream. And that coach delivers in spades. In only his second year that coach wins you your dream of a SB. And then proceeds to win an unprecedented 5 more in the following 16 years. Yes, we all know a lot of it was Brady but Kraft bent over backwards to hire Belichick, not Brady, and in his mind it was Belichick that delivered him the wins. Afterall, it was Belichick that drafted Brady and Kraft made Belichick responsible for the team's performance, not Brady. How much faith and loyalty would you give someone that gave you your life's dream, not once, but 6 times?
@jamesanthony5681
@jamesanthony5681 5 месяцев назад
Good points. But if Kraft believes Belichick has lost it as a coach or GM, then he'll make changes. Bill is 71, and there comes a day when you can't do it anymore.

I don't even LIKE the Patriots, but whoever made the title on this video needs to learn to use their brain. You don't call a guy, who played all of his 10-11 seasons as a Patriot, an "ex-pat" when he retires. It kind of suggests he went to ANOTHER TEAM. "Former Pat, Retired Pat, SB MVP Pat," Etc.
