Here in the uk we like a big spud pie. Taters, beef, onions, stock and gravy. Cooked in the oven till thick and soft. Served with red cabbage. Drooling!
My Mom would make something like this for us every Friday night; then we'd play Yahtzee, I miss those days and my Mom. Thanks for sharing, I plan on making this. It looks great and i'm sure it's yummy.
I love this dish great for using meat picked from a roast chicken, we do ike to add some herbs, spices to it normaly thyme and garlic. Rather than just pour it over biscuits we also crisp up leftover stuffing and crumble it as a topping. When roasting a chicken we normaly make extra stuffing to use with leftovers as a flavouful strecther/filler and roast acouple of heads of garlic as the oven is already on. This also works well over rice or pasta and some asparagus adds a whole new dimension strecting it to a 3rd meal. Thanks for the recipe, take care God bless one and all.

This is the sort of meal I absolutely love. Was wondering….. The way you make it is by adding already cooked food. So that would be great when you have leftovers. But if you were starting from scratch you’d have to: cook the chicken and carrots and then you have to cook the whole thing. How would you do it if you started with all fresh stuff - all in ONE pan, like a Dutch oven. That way you just keep adding things, instead of cooking things separately and then putting them all together. Lately, I’ve become a fan of just one pot cooking. I realized if there are too many steps and too many dishes to wash, I just won’t do it.
This type of meal is perfect for left over chicken and frozen peas and carrots. Throw a few biscuits in the oven. The veggies and chicken just need to be warmed in the gravy. Put it all together and you have a delicious hearty meal😊
