Your lived experience and analysis is in this now a case of perfect timing. It is bloody difficult to submit to heart-based criticism, and to keep silence. This mammalian hunger for recognition and acceptance is The Styx, isn't it.💐

I think the attachment to reputation is taught to us from early in life as being very important. I therefore believe that we would have seen this as being critical, in a professional sense for example where having a good reputation could mean we would attract respect, or career advancement perhaps. To have constructive criticism is positive, however we as you say we dislike any criticism . I think pride and ego also have role in this situation.

Thank you! What about the tendency to criticize and judge others? Does that not accompany the problem of looking for approval? It’s very dual thinking! There are two parts to this, fault finding AND approval seeking.
