I remember hearing this song for the first time on the am radio. (Google It for the young-uns lol) it was 1976 and I was driving to work at "Sears Roebuck". When I got to work I turned on the radio in the shop and starting calling the radio station to play it again... My thoughts were "OMG". (actually "Holy S$#T"). I never heard him hit a note in that fashion. Then a few months later I saw him live do this song and he did the twirl to the ground then a reprise, i literally got chills down my spine. Elvis sang this when I saw him in concert in San Francisco. I was beyond blown away because I have always loved that song, and had Timi Yuro's single years before Elvis sang it. When he first recorded it I was delighted, so you can imagine what it was like to actually see and hear him sing it in person. His voice just went through the roof, and 16,000 fans screamed and called their appreciation when he finished singing it.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Probably have watched it a million times, when Elvis sings Hurt and How Great Thou Art, it still gives me chills,every time ❤. I’ve loved Elvis for many years,have been to his beautiful home,Graceland,I unfortunately never saw him in concert 😢. It truly makes my heart happy to see younger people like you ,who love Elvis and his music ‘but most of all‘the loving,kind, caring‘generous (can’t forget handsome) and talented man. You transported us back exactly 2 weeks ago to this very day 😊 loved every single second of our trip out to Basingstoke to see Ginger. What an amazing experience I mean we were sitting there with Ginger maybe 20 ft away watching her watch the version of this song being played on the big screen behind her. I can't get my head around that did it really happen????? lol 🤔🙃. Ginger was so warm and friendly and conveyed once again as she did in her book that Elvis was still a happy guy during the last months of his time here on earth and I take great comfort from that Michelle ❤️.. I haven't had a proper chance to thank you for the great vlog you posted from our trip loved being part of it and both yourself and Jo made it a weekend I will never forget 🎉🎊. Hi Michelle ♥ What an amazing song. Evetytime it starts I get goose bumps and towards the end, I always tear up because of Elvis's passion, strength and I feel very proud of him. I went back to watch Charlie like you said, hes so proud of Elvis ♥ too, so obviously I cried for that too 😂 😂 😂. I hope I can hold it all together at Blackpool 😂 😂 😂 . I've only heard one interview of Gingers ♥ before and she was full of fabulous memories and happy times with Elvis ♥ . It was so comforting to know that Elvis ♥ was so happy and full of fun and laughter at the end of his life. As you know other interviews have said how sad and withdrawn he was and depressed. Like you, I never thought this song was about Ginger. Beautiful, beautiful song though. He may not have been in"tip top" shape, but he wasn't as overweight as some have suggested. I'm sorry that he felt the need to have his "eye" lids enhanced because he had those beautiful "bedroom" eyes that just made him so so sexy. Also, I saw a vid with Sam Thompson, who said that near the end EP was still able to get around quite well.
Charlie Hodge was totally on-board with Elvis. Elvis’ success was Charlie’s happiness. It doesn't hurt me to watch this performance but it is always emotional.
I am a HUGE Elvis fan and have been for 48 years. I own all of his music and movies. This is so hard to watch. He is in such horrible condition body, mind and soul. Makes me sad. This tour includes about 4-5 salvageable songs. The rest is horrible to watch; although I still do on occasion.
I always love this , it ceases to amaze me how he hits these high notes, especially since he wasn't well at this performance, Brilliant, love him foreever💜
Allow me some remarks about Ginger Alden. I fully understand she wants to be acknowledged, tell her side counteracting the narrative being produced by Priscilla, and others. However, while I believe and am glad that Elvis did have happy times with her, I am too much of a realist to believe it was all as rosy and positive as she's saying. Sorry, Michelle, not wanting to be negative, just honest, it's just my personal point of view at this point, and having heard and read many other contradicting things. The colour of truth is grey ...
