Hi @@Dan0rioN, diary was the first thing I tried. Literally a month after I quit coffee, my skin was totally clear without a single breakout. It's now been abuot 5 year. I still consume dairy without issue. If I have a coffee now, I usually get a big spot within 24 hours. I'm not saying this to slate coffee. I'm saying this because all people are different, and if someone is struggling with bad acne, they should deffo try quitting coffee for a little while to see if it is their trigger. I'm saing this because it's not well known. And I rememer at how desperate I was for answers.

I’ve just quit coffee for the umpteenth time. The reasons for repeatedly quitting coffee are the typical… headaches, sleep issues and needing more and more for the same boost. Additionally, I have issues with dehydration when drinking daily coffee. I always tell myself I need coffee to get more work done…but the truth is, coffee only works for me for a day or so…then has no positive affect. I’ll eventually decide to detox for a few days with the accompanying headaches… then the cycle repeats. I have simply become sick of it all! Caffeine is the heart of what ails me and since I love the taste of coffee as well as the health benefits…. I may consider decaf at some point? For now I am going to stay clean. Life without caffeine: I have found that doing just 10 minutes of light cardio in the morning gives me more energy throughout the day then coffee ever did without any of the negatives.
@ninnab8271

Thanks for the comment. I can't drink decaff. It's so strange, but when I do my face becomes noticeably puffy .. I drink a lot of normal coffee so I don't know if it's the lack of caffeine but everything else being present that throws my body off, or something to do with chemicals used during extraction process... But it's evens happens with water processed coffee so don't think it's that... Very strange lol
@boatoflol
@boatoflol Месяц назад
I have found a Decaf which tastes really good (I'm kind of a third wave coffee drinker) I tried drinking only that decaf for as my baseline enjoyment coffee and sometimes grind normal coffee, works fine. The problem is if you get headaches from abstaining is your cranial bloodflow increases a manifold for a long period after your last caffeine wears off. I would recommend switching to decaf only and after a few weeks really, try to introduce one small coffee maybe in the morning once in a while, just as a tool for you.

There is ZERO health benefits of consuming coffee. Don’t believe every bogus study you come across online. 10 min of cardio is infinitely more superior than morning caffeine, so good job 👏🏻

I appreciate the diversity of your channel! You can upload a video on the benefits of caffeine/ coffee and then a podcast about the benefits of taking a break or stopping coffee/caffeine consumption.. I think it's so important for people to hear both sides and the "how" & "why" so they can make their own informed decisions.. thank you for going in-depth every time and explaining the mechanisms and nuances! Over simplified information leads to more confusion..I enjoy the detailed explanations you give us! Thank you! 💛

Experimenting with this type of 'regaining of control' has given me such confidence. Even as a woman, I can understand your comments on masculinity. I grew up going to the gym at a very young age and so have always been surrounded by men and from a young age - adapted to some of the same tendencies. It took me a long time to figure that out. When you feel more in control of your own physical experience, it feels almost boundless........... THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for sharing this chat!

Mate, I've been listening to you for 6 years now so let me tell you something: you should this more often. You are a great listener and humble. You know your craft inside out and you are incredibly articulate. Not only would you crush it in long-format conversation videos, it would be endlessly refreshing to place all the technical knowledge you possess in the context of a laid-back conversation. We learn the facts, get to know the man, nice story telling, anecdotes... You have already amassed lots of followers due to the sheer quality of the facts and knowledge you put out there and, in my opinion, because pursue truth honestly. Making content more digestible for the majority of people who are not so abstract minded by using these kind of formats would help spread your knowledge and would probably help with monetisation. My two cents there, mate. Make of it what you will.

This is timely for me. I've been giving some thought to my own coffee consumption. Back in the day, when I was wrecking my health I was drinking four or five 24-ounce 7-11 coffees with cream and sugar every day. I'm better now, I'm only drinking three to four 16-ounce coffees a day. No sugar. However, I'm beginning to think that I am using it to bump myself all day long, and maybe this is not a good thing. I didn't really drink coffee until I was around 28 years old, but once I started, it has been one coffee after another for the next 41 years-yikes. Time to stop I think.

I quit caffeine 20 years ago. I choose to not subject my friends to me "feeling good" on a stimulant. I am aggressive enough even without caffeine. Yet, I am always calm, cool, collected and down to earth. I do drink decaf coffee a couple times a month and it does contain a tiny bit of caffeine. I get the huge antioxidant benefit of a rich cup of coffee without any of the toxic effects of caffeine. Just step outside of yourself for a bit and think of how others, who are not on a stimulant, perceive your "energy"... ...as artificial. Like an addict who is oblivious to the way a drug has modified their personality. Antioxidants are good but caffeine is a poison. A coffee bean needs 250 antioxidants in order for the caffeine to not kill it. My friends deserve the best part of me that is not stressed and tightly wound. And I prefer to perform on totally my own volition and not that of a stimulant. I am sure I can outlast and that is the greatest benefit of being caffeine free. There is only one me, dependable and always ready to go.

Did he stop taking caffeine only from coffee, or did he not even drink green, black tea and did not eat hot chocolate and cocoa? Thank you for your response 😇🤠

I've restricted coffee just to 1 cup in the morning for years and I didn't notice anything when I went to decaf. I just drink carbonated water, no soda.

I did a 5 day water fast and when I returned…I returned with the notion of continually just drinking water - no coffee or caffeine. Just nutritious foods and water. Because I’m going to start another fast in a few days and I noticed caffeine made it harder for me to adapt within those 5 days.

Caffeine has always caused me stomach problems so I avoid it in all forms. I need to stop focusing on my sleep.
@MK-oj7eg

The thing is I’m not talking about everybody but certain people like myself get a hyperacidity of their stomach. Which means the stomach doesn’t have the opportunity to work under natural circumstances. After I quiet kaffein for 10 weeks currently I definitely felt a difference. My headaches stopped I lost some weight and I sleep way better because my hormones are used to get to sleep when you feel to go to sleep. Also waking up is not as exhausting as before. Your body regulates after a certain time with no kaffein. Everyone has to try what’s good for themselves. This is my advice..maybe for others they will do different stuff.

I work out in the morning. I take my pre workout with 175mg of caffeine and don’t touch it again the rest of the day. It sustains the entire day and figured it out once I cut out coffee, diet sodas with caffeine, etc. I also don’t eat heavy carbs until the evening, I do dextrose or chocolate milk post workout with 40g of protein, protein throughout the day for satiation, and then rice in the evening to recharge myself for the next days workout. My mind is clear and focused throughout the day which with my job I 100% need that. Changed my life around.

that's fine if you can do it cold turkey, but for most people tapering down with Teeccino herbal coffee is a great way to avoid the withdrawal side effects

It’s my only vice, but it’s not so much the caffeine, I just love the flavor. I have one caffeinated in the morning and decaf after that…but I drink a lot so I occasionally think I should cut back

I suffer from really bad restless legs and insomnia and once I go 2 nights without proper sleep my body definitely goes into survival mode and I won’t be able to sleep more than 2-3 hours each night for the rest of the week- unless I take melatonin which makes my restless legs worse, but I can sleep 6 hours and from then on it resets my circadian rhythm back to normalish.

What is a "nap" for you. I have a nap most days - about 20 to 30 minutes max ..during which I fall asleep and wake up. If I am very tired and I allow the nap to extend to 45 to 6o min, then I can wake up feeling groggy, disoriented, and hung-over. I think it was Walker who suggested that we evolved to have bi-phasic sleep, but the second phase should be very short.

One important thing about coffee people rarely talk about - genetically conditioned caffeine metabolism speed. It’s ether slow of fast. With the slow one you get lots of negative side effects everybody talk about. I have a slow metabolism, so when I drink one doppio of filter coffee later than 10 a.m. - I don’t want to sleep before 1 a.m.

I did four YEARS without coffee at one point, but not without caffeine because of my hiatyl hernia. Only then I found out my problem was not too much acid, but not enough. So now I drink coffee and use apple cider vinegar at the end of the day.

interesting, I just cut way and now I only drink 1/2 caffeinated coffee. And only 2 cups / day. it's hard - because you have to avoid pre-workout stuff and no energy drinks.

If you guys are curious about using sleep deprivation as a stimulus for adaptation, you should consider reaching out to people who have gone through Ranger School or Navy SEAL training. They’ve all objectively lived that lifestyle one way or another, and it would be interesting to get their take.

I definitely think there is a hermetic effect to sleep deprivation. I work in love event production. Occasionally we work 15+ hrs. When I started in my first 16 hr day killed me. Now about 10 years later I do them 1x a week in the summer. 16-22 hr work days. Now I crave it. Strange. Need studies on this.

Hi, can you make a nutrition talk with Chris? I am sure that has something to do in supporting such a decision as to let go of coffee. Like the fact that it has a lot of antioxidants, if you don't manage that in any other way with good food, it will be actual hell trying to throw aawy caffeine. Chris diet must be spot on it's my guess
