Whats crazy is he actually DOESN'T remember a lot of his own 😅 He could write an entire triple album and not remember the lyrics he wrote years from now. Thats why i love him because he truly is always "the student" when it comes to music(hiphop). He SHOULD easily think hes the best because MILLIONS of people do and always will. But he never thinks of himself as such and was never the rapper who made "diss records" as a want or a need like every other one. He gives credit where its due and always sees himself as an equal or sometimes even less than, when its someone who is actually worth something. 🩵

Before I knew anything about rap, I just liked the album a lot, and this was before illmatic had its critical reputation it has today and no one really besides the source gave it its props. Pun is not given the credit he is due possibly having to do with only dropping 2 albums and some unreal features in his way too short time on this Earth. His debut on "Off Da Books" by The Beatnuts and his debut album, Capital Punishment, are absolute classics starting with "The Intro" followed by "Beware" then so on with every track on that album. I used to not like EM because he was white. Then I actually listened to his material and dug into finding out who he is an artist. When seen how committed he was to not just rapping but being an EMCEE and the reverence with which he viewed the actual artform, the culture, the legends and the pioneers I had to get my MFKIN mind right. He’s an essential part of this culture. If we’re talking about hip hop and he doesn’t even get an honorable mention then we’re dead wrong and the conversation is invalid. Respect.

And, that was after he was talking about how people make it seem like it's a multi-syllable piece up but they really rhyming 1 syllable. Geez...you want the guy to go into his whole discography but he was talking about rhymes schemes in general. He gave him a compliment. Why? because it was a multisyllable rhyme scheme which he just said people be faking. You need to keep things in context with the discussion. It was nothing personal against em. Lol!!!

2pac also like that album when he was in court he was blasting the Life's a Bitch joint out of his car back then. Biggie also loved that album. What like about that album it was for the streets it was gritty it came out in 1994 I mean it was something different. As kid at the time The World is yours video would come on and it's was something I never really seen before watching Pete Rock sing the hook and play piano the video was magical .
