Thanks for the video. This was just what I needed. The wahls seem like they will be perfect for my beard. I’ve been looking at multiple videos and this was just what I needed.
Good video!! I like how you have the perfect light and got straight to the point!! Not a lot of talking just straight to the cutting and comparing. Thanks for the nice video
The deal! Thanks brother man! I'm exited bout that detailed now. Get get get-ing it. Got Clippers but no trimmers. Your video said a thousand words. Props and power to ya.
Nice video bruh. I'm not a barber. I just needed something to hit nice when I trim my beard at home. I wasn't sure about paying 2 bills for the babyliss just to use them twice a week for nobody but myself. This definitely helps me decide. Keep doing what you do bruh.
I got the FX Gold and to be honest with y'all I wasn't all that impressed by them. Don't get me wrong they get the job done however I can clearly tell in this video the Wahl's are lining up quicker and cleaner. I going get the Wahl's next. Thanks for the video bro👍🏿
They were. Very quicker and crisper cut for sure. Had to repeat too many times over and over with the FX. The gold wahl detailer blade that just recently dropped is even better.
@@011kidkash i got the wahl detailers a few months ago, and they are SHARP AF. i love them as liners, i cut myself in the back of my head/neck though because its hard to cut the back of your head, but i be giving myself crisp lineups. First semi pro blades so far. i got the wahl designers too so i can learn with both of them. Im really happy with my purchase and learning a lot with both. thanks for the video mane they are smaller than i expected tho, i got the wired version, but i got used to them after abt a week. just wish i could have someone to practice on.
Both are good trimmers, it just comes down to preference, honestly. I’m not taking anything away from Wahl and the products they put out. I have both and I can’t decide which pair to commit too.
I can vouch that! They definitely both are good trimmers. Those detailers got a slight edge! I got both in rotation EVERY session. No lie! It’s that T Wide blade that’s crazy on em. Sharp as ever. I love em. Live by em.
As an experienced barber both of those edgers (liners) are on point! Might have to zero gap the baby's but they both hitt from experience with me using both. But... But... Which one gets hotter faster? Do they get hot at all? What's the battery life or usage life on both? Which blade last longer? These are the questions we should be asking. I know the answer for both. you just have to find what you're more comfortable with or like! What best benefits my clients!!!!!!!!
ONE OF THE MOST SPOT ON REPLIES EVER!!!!!!!!! I use both. I prefer to shave with babyliss but when I need that line that makes the women get behind, THAT DETAILER IS WHERE ITS AT!!!! You're 1,000 percent right. It's true. "I" prefer the Detailer because the detailer blade is easier to find, Wahl has GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, and most importantly, it's sharpness is second to NONE. Detailer is gonna give you a slightly RAWER sharpness. You said shit ONLY an experienced barber would know so YOU know!
Sir will u please give me the answer to the questions u stated in your post?? Please. I watched so many reviews on both and still do not know how to decide. Would love to know what u think/your answers.
@@xorto121it’s all on what you prefer. Honestly, I’d go detailer. If you wanna save a lil money, just get the corded version. It’s slightly cheaper. If you want cordless, get this one.
@@a.d.c7941I’ve been cutting hair a LONG time. The wahl detailer changed my life! I was using Andis T Outliners but when I got hands on this junt, it changed everything for me. I’ve been cutting hair 13 years. The detailer is second to none. The money you’ll make with will outweigh the lil petty mishaps you’ll have with the clipper. Go detailer! Make sure they’re properly set!
Wahl was a quicker cut too. It easily cuts through the hair with precision. Vs with the FX you had to dig in and go over it way more. wahl fasho. Preciate it you just saved me some money
I’d go with wahl because of that. Replacement blades are easier to find. I recommend Sally’s or directly from wahl. There’s fake wahl blades out here because I’ve had em!
@@011kidkash thanks! I’ll be getting it from walh just to be sure. Also, do you have any recommendations on where to buy a good straight edge razor for lineups?
I like the fx3 better than golds and also the detailerare my go to have a couple of pair and they hit harder with the ceramic blade trust and believe. GOD BLESS ALL!
I agree. I did an updated video as well. I STILL say the detailer is better but that doesn’t take away from the babyliss. I use BOTH whenever I’m cutting but when it comes to precision and wanting that CRISPY & RAW line up, I go to my wahl.
@@011kidkash nice job brother. Am thinking of getting one for my stubble and line up and eye brows. Man tough decisions is this babyliss really better than whal.
@@lbaz0710 honestly it ain’t my G. That wahl is gonna give you that raw detail you want. The babyliss is cool and will give you good shaves but if you want definition and detail, go wahl
Witch one would you recommend for personnal use to shave my head (zero) ? I shave every 3 days. Or should I go with a clipper instead for a stronger motor. I have a braun series 9 that I love, but sometimes I like to have more texture/hair using a clipper at zero. Thanks !
You got me reconsidering spending the bread on the FX Babyliss now. Got the detailers a year ago and it just seemed like all the top barbers on RU-vid be using the gold trimmers so I thought maybe I should get it for the crispiest lines. I never zero gapped my detailers bc I heard they give a pretty solid line straight out the box which is true. Maybe I’ll try and gap them next and see how that do.
The detailers give a more DEFINE cut. The sharpness is RAW. Don’t get me wrong, the babyliss ain’t bad but the sharpness of the detailer is a step ahead. You should zero gap that detailer NOW and once you do that; meet me back here!
Detailers are way better, i have both ad always rebought the detailers. They cut all grades of hair with the same sharpness..gfxs have problems with some textures and they hurt the client
You better believe it!!! I gotta add this as well; a great haircut is also influenced by the barber’s ability & understanding on how to use the tool as well. The “little” things matter SOOOOOOO much! I’ll make videos soon that’ll change ALOT of barber’s lives!
joga bonito that’s how I feel about the detailer MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYTHING is HOW YOU HOLD YOUR CLIPPER. MAJOR KEY! The babyliss is cool but it ain’t as sharp as the detailer. It’s like the detailer has RAW sharpness
Which one is giving sharper razor cut? (I dont care about it is heavy or lighter machine - I want to get a powerful unit which give sharp cut same like a razor from first time!)
DEFINITELY gonna be the wahl. If you look around you see barbers complaining about the blade being too sharp!!! 😂 it’s hilarious to me! A light & steady hand and an EVENLY CLOSE SET blade on the detailer will give you the sharpest “razor look” cut. If you check out my I Instagram, ALL my cuts are posted WITHOUT razor work! ALL my cuts on my channel as well don’t have any razor work on em!
They do. It's really your preference. You want the freedom of cordless where you can get every angle effortlessly without the hassle of a cord? If yes, go wireless. Same clipper just different aspects. Of course there's pros and cons.
It’s a good trimmer too. Definitely an upgrade over the T-Outliner. It’ll give you the same look you want but the detailer will give you that look you can’t believe! Especially If you’re a first time user:
I would kinda say yes. Blade is different. Blade stays cooler cause of the diamond coating it(or whatever it’s called.) I think there were slight improvements to the clipper as you’d imagine because given the great trimmer it has always been, the clipper itself has been out long enough to be improved or revised. I think the gold ones are a lil stronger.
It’s tough!!! I’ll be completely honest with you. The babyliss may seem stronger cause they’re bigger but the detailer is just as strong. More DEFINED outlining than the babyliss. Babyliss is good for shaves and bulk cutting but the detailer can do the same just takes a tad bit more effort when cutting bulk. Fx will go full stroke straight through VS the detailer going 3/4 of the whole stroke before you have to reset your cutting motion to get all the hair.
@@011kidkash got the babyliss today and they HIT!! Got the silver w/graphite2.0 blade. I really like’em. Still a huge wahl fan. I’ll probably still eventually get the detailers because I’m a bit of a wahl collector. Again, appreciate the review. Take care.
Used it maybe twice years ago and didn’t like it. How would it make a crispier cut when the gold blade is the thinnest?? Now I gotta get a graphite blade and check it out again.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it my boy! The FX cool but they not gonna give that RAW sharp line on “EVERY” hair texture. Trust me! Still a real goo trimmer tho
it's a matter of practice, the gentleman on the video is more comfortable on the trimmer because he hasn't worked a lot on babyliss, it seems to me that this is his first time
@@011kidkash cause you use em like t outliners. I think the deep tooth blades are wayyy better on the fx. That and you lr zero gap on the detailers are way closer than on the fx (im assuming from experience with the detailers). ash lines were way bolder when you use the detailers, especially on darker clients, it can make the line look 10x sharper. Essentially their the same thing. The only thing the fx has is the adjustment screws on the outside.
Ive never used the evo. From MY experience and expertise, I would go with the detailer. Rotary motor is more powerful than a magnetic trimmer. ANY barber who knows his stuff can/will tell you that! The evo is magnetic and the Wahl is a rotary. You won't EVER have a problem detailing heavy/thick hair with ANY trimmer that has a rotary motor compared to one that has a magnetic motor. Wahl has had time to figure everything out over the years and PERFECT it with that detailer! I've been using the detailer for 10 years so TRUST ME! I KNOW!
That detailer blade is second to NONE!!! It's sharpness is just RAW! The evo has different blades to choose from but that detailer is just IT. Tap and GO once you set it right! I will definitely try it out just to show you & myself included.
There's a clipper that's better than both but you gotta know how to use em. They're made by wahl & they use the SAME blade the detailer uses. They're FASTER, STRONGER, but smaller!
@@mirrortheworld No problem. Check back with me when I drop the video in a few days, It's CHEAPER too but corded. Definitely worth a buy if you can handle that agressive blade!
I’ve been cutting for 10 years now & I KNOW different tools can make you or break you. I’ve seen it & I’ve experienced it. “I” can use either or & still give the same results. 🤷🏽♂️
I think you just gave away a MAJOR KEY & didn’t even know it. Different tools do different things. One may be better at one the other isn’t but once you get real advanced, instead of a different trimmer, you’d have a wahldetailer for every occasion. I’ve got 2 cordless detailers; One for finishing & one for shaving. BOTH are gonna get CRISP line ups but my finishing one is set sharper. Wahl has a clipper called the “Hero” that’s actually STRONGER than the detailer & the FX. It just isn’t cordless. I’ve got two of them as well. One for shop use and one I only use on my son.
Didn’t know they made a silver blade. I thought it was only the graphite(black), rose gold, and gold blade. You must be talking about the black blade that goes on the silver trimmer?
EXACTLY. Best in the game right now. I got it from the RU-vid Creator studio. Gotta get on a computer or use the desktop version on ya phone to download. Easier on a computer
I had both zero gapped in my video. I gotta say the detailer is better because they HIT with little to no effort. I’ve been using the detailer for 10 years so 🤷🏽♂️
Personally, I use both. I’m a barber so I’ve got both in my arsenal. If I had to pick only ONE, I’d go detailer. It’ll definitely give you that POP you looking for. When you shave with the wahl detailer, make sure your hand’s weight across the clipper is spread evenly so you can get a smooth even shave with them bitting or cutting you.
Ok I have a wahl trimmer. I am having a hard time keeping it from cutting my clients when I edge and line them up like this. What do I need to do? Should I just buy a new set of blades. Mine bite.
FIRST: Reset your blade IMMEDIATELY. Using the proper screwdriver is “CRITICAL.” Took me years to understand that the proper screwdriver is needed because you could easily strip the screws that would mess your blade up or not even tighten them enough to where they would shift. It would shift because of the screw being stripped that holds it tight. Make sure your cutting blade(The one you can adjust) is aligned properly with your stationary blade(Blade with the logo on it) The detailer has a history of its blade shifting as well so every now and then, go back to check &/or reset your blade to ensure it’s linked SECOND. GO BACK TO YOUR BASICS. learn, remember, or understand how to properly place your blade evenly on the part of the line you’re trying to line up. THIS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE FIRST ONE. YOUR TECHNIQUE IS CRUCIAL. This will allow you to not have to go over a spot so much because you’re trying to get it sharp! That’s why it’s so crucial and MOST IMPORTANT. Learn how much to lean or where & how to place your trimmer where you’re trying to cut! THIRD: You can buy a new blade if you want. Make sure it’s an authentic wahl product! There’s fakes out here! I know cause I’ve had em. The wahl website itself is where I prefer to get mine! Sally’s beauty supply is real as well. A real blade from Sally’s will about 23.99 but directly from wahl is 19.99. Your pick. 🤷🏽♂️ SUMMARY: Take 1 and 2 into serious consideration. 2 more importantly but 1 just as importantly! I promise you’ll get MORE CLIENTS AND MORE MONEY doing so!
@@011kidkash thank you for the advice. I really appreciate it. I will for sure do that. I used to use just peanuts but when I started lining up I wanted a sharper line. Turning my clipper over seemed to just cut my clients up so I wouldn't do it. Gonna do what you said and thanks again for the ordering tip too 😉 every little bit counts.
I know im randomly asking but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
It’s not better than the gold one. The gold one is thinner. Thinner the blade, sharper the trimmer. That’s why ANY blade modification’s purpose is to thin the blade out. The black blade is the deep tooth one
The Detailers definitely look like they hit better. Wahl clippers always feel cheaply built compared to Andis, others. Not sure if the cordless detailers are better than the corded detailers but I had to replace my first corded detailers and just had to get the rear casing fixed again on them.
That casing is notorious for failing! I can’t even begin to tell you how many corded detailers I’ve bought over my 10 year tenure being a barber!!!! Depending on what you need the detailer for. If you don’t like the hassle of constantly charging your clipper & the possibility of having to put the clipper down and charge it to get the full power of the clipper, then you won’t like the cordless. If you like the freedom & extra comfort of not having a cord then you’ll like the cordless. The power of the cordless is crazy at full strength.
Them wahls are hitting better, i own both pair wahls are my favorite the rest of them you're just paying for the name and bc you saw someone well known on RU-vid using them
Gotta disagree playa. Them magnetic trimmers ain’t it. Most if not all of Andis most decorated trimmers are magnetic. Rotary motor is where it’s at. That’s why mostly ALL new trimmer companies are going rotary. Wahl detailer, wahl hero, and the other wahl trimmers been blowing em out.
The video is about the trimmers not the mess around the home Robert. You here to watch a video about trimmers or a video about landscaping n shit??? 🤷🏽♂️
VersatyleMusicGroup I didn’t do one thing to one and not the other. How is that biased?? Treated both as equal and gave my opinion. It’s up to you to look and decide for yourself but I did show how both are FRESH out the box with NO modifications. Video proof as well. 🤷🏽♂️
@@011kidkash the video isn't proof of anything. We didn't see you zero gap set or modify either of these. And I know tons of barbers that use both trimmers, and I know for sure when the gold fx are zero gapped right they hit with amazing precision. Respect your vid I just have witnessed too many times with my own eyes both trimmers to know that the result in this vid isn't accurate.
VersatyleMusicGroup of course you didn’t see me gap em but if you watch all of it, you see where I focus the camera on the blades and you can see both zero gapped. 😉
@@011kidkash obviously you didn’t hear the wahl detailers at the 1:29 mark they started not cutting. Don’t get me wrong the wahl’s when they hittin they hittin. But those babyliss when those are set right they cut just as good as the wahl or even better.
Naw, I didn’t notice it. I’ve got a new video coming. I found a blade and tried it again. Interesting video for sure but a hell of a turn of events. Watch.
Breezykutz detailers; the gold fx always delay in power like the switch with give a 1-2 second lag to turn on for power, also if you break or chip the blade on the FXs you can’t buy a replacement unless it’s the deep tooth blade in black. Since you had them for awhile could you make a updated video?
@@Heaven01993 u dont know much about trimmers I guess the lag when u turn on the gold fx's is because it has a brushless motor in it that's normal for that kind of motor and about the blades that not true eather go to prostylingtools.com they have everything u need
