Hey, everyone! I'd forgotten to add the price of the 580 in the PCPP link. Obviously, it'd be ridiculous to pay $500 for a used one, and there are far better value cards to choose from based on our in-depth analysis of the GPU market uploaded a few weeks ago. My issue wasn't as much the price as it was the combination of components and said "justification"/misleading remarks in the description. Don't sell a PC like this. And don't defend an advertised "Gaming PC" with 128GB of RAM (unless you're Tavarish 😉).

Nice VId Greg I always Enjoy them. LOL LOL LOL The fact that you priced it all, and it wasn't that far off The Asking price and it was only Built approx. 3 months ago, Why in a Gaming Genie would anyone that even had the money to buy it do so as used, when you could spend the same money, Buy NEW and HAVE WARRANTY?

@Sp3LLBouND

i don't think this was a gaming pc but most of editing pc in my opinion, its dumb after 16gb is ok but over 32gb is worthless and waste of money to buy for gaming, if this was around 1500 - 1800 usd would be ok-ish to buy it , if he had his research he should search again for the hardware price and cut 20% instant or more for every used part. i hope this situation with mining could be better after summer so I can upgrade my rig. its good that you explain to people who don't know or they can get scam by people who sell used parts like this fool.

He should have just advertised this as a "pc missing GPU" for $1600-2000. That's an all right deal. The 8gb 580s are in high demand since they are still ethereum mining beasts. You can replace that with a near equivalent 290 or 290x for $200 or less.

He should buy a 16gb budget ram kit and swap that in, drop the price of the rig and sell the 128gb kit by itself on ebay. He could even split the 128gb kit into 64gb kits to attract more buyers.

@ksp1278

Yep. I know. I have a friend that has sold at least seven 3000 series GPUs on ebay. He's made thousands. I am ashamed to say that I did it once with a 3090 that I bought on credit card and sold for £500 profit, as I needed the money, because wife is out of work currently. I don't intend to do it again, as morally I wasn't comfortable and it stressed me out sending such a valuable item. Interestingly though it isn't gamers buying at these prices for the most part. It is miners. The miners are willing to pay the prices, as they can earn £10 per day with a 3080 and when mining becomes less profitable they can be sure to get a lot of money back by selling card on ebay.

@@ceproductin It's both. But some people have no choice. Even during covid, there were still jobs, not the best, but there were. But people rather do this to their fellow man instead of the more responsible way

I gotta say, that I recently built a PC with 5950X and 360 mm AIO in push-pull config, and it took me a lot longer than I expected. Just dealing with 20 fan cables (RGB+power, 3+3 for AIO, 3 at the front, 1 at the back) was a massive pain in the butt. I've built a ton of PC in my life, but not recently, infact that build is replacing my 8 years old 3930K HEDT PC. So - definitely not a couple of hours. Heck, just figuring out how to remove an internal side fan mounting bracket off 5000X case took a lot longer than it should've because the screws were so well hidden under pre-installed cable management brackets, and the user manual had NO directions in that regards whatsoever. I also installed 128 GB of RAM because I use this PC for work, and you are right - that RAM cost me almost as much as the CPU (which I bought for MSRP). I had to use a 2070 Super video card from my previous PC because there is literally NO GPU in stock anywhere - and I'm not willing to buy parts through unofficial channels like ebay, because, like I said, I use this PC for my business so it's important that I know where to go should some of it ended up non-functional.

What I make up out that ad is that he isn't used to building computers and that he had build a system to work from home but now needs a mobile system again. This isn't primarely a gaming system, but listing it as one will get more traffic for sure. And the fact that he uses 'my loss, your gain' is because it actually is a pretty big loss for him or at least a serious gain for someone wanting to buy these parts. Problem of course is that the combination of parts don't really make sense. 128gb ram, retail (oem) version of windows, rx580 which currently goes for $650 according to pcpp. But if you add ALL these parts up then pcpp gives you a total of $3510.42 and that is even with some concessions. That graphics card doesn't make sense at all, I'm fairly sure a gtx 1660 super would perform better and can be had for the same price (at least now, not sure about 3 months ago). If it's a workstation, wouldn't you want an nvidia card for the nvenc encoder? Instead of the 3900xt I also went with the 3900x as the current price difference is about $250 now, back around octobre that price difference was around €10 here which I would gladly pay. The psu and ram I went with the black versions, it's not clear on the photo if he did go with those or the white ones to match his case, white ones are more expensive. For the monitor I went with the cheapest one there currently is on pcpp, the LG 27UK650-W 27.0" 3840x2160 60 Hz Monitor. If it is a workstation where color accuracy matters then it might have been a more expensive model I guess, but he should have probably listed what is included. The graphics card is obviously way overpriced currently at $650, but that's what the current market is even though noone buying likes it. Videos like this make me watch your channel less and less. You make up a pcpp listing and get to about the price of what he's asking for it and just say that with the monitor that you hadn't included it would be around his asking price ... no, it would be $200 over. On top of that you don't include the most expensive part of the build currently, it shouldn't be but in the current market it is. You also don't list the windows 10 pro, you could have at least added the price of your sponsor key even though that is far from what you pay for an actual license. (Don't get me wrong, I also buy the cdkeys for far cheaper, but some people just don't because they consider it a grey area). The extra fan also isn't included, not sure where he put it but it's listed. Also the keyboard isn't included and making fun of him for the way he said you can get a new keyboard for free if you pay the full $2500 price is to me perfectly understandable, but I don't speak english natively. To me that means you can bargain on that price, but if you don't and pay $2500 he'll add the keyboard. It feels like you've put very litle effort in this video. You looked for a high priced listing, started making fun of the listing while filming, started a quick pcpp list and when you realised you were gonna go over his asking price you stopped adding stuff where the price you got from pcpp was only 2/3 of what it should have been (and is today). Guess I'll stop typing now as I doubt many will read all this. Considering this is my first time actually reacting to a video on youtube I should probably work on giving shorter reactions.

I have a slightly related question and it's just out of curiosity. In my experience, it's better and easier to part out a computer than it is to sell a whole computer. I've been able to disassemble a used PC and sell each part individually (including the case as-is) and little to no trouble doing so. Whenever I try to sell an assembled PC though, it takes a long time and I have few to no buyers. The final amount of money regained may not be exactly the same, however. I never actually added everything up, but I'd imagine the regain would be pretty close. So just curious as to what others have to say about this. Is it best to part out a used PC or to sell it assembled? I'm NOT selling anything at the moment. I was just watching the video and had this random thought.
@nameofthegame9664
@nameofthegame9664 2 года назад
yes it’s way better to part out because you gain a lot more potential buyers. The majority already have a rig and just want to do an upgrade so most people just look for used parts instead of a complete build.

I got really lucky I saw a Facebook ad for a build with a 1660 super for 500$ it had barebones cpu/motherboard and everything but I bought it and everything worked awesome! I ended up switching all the old parts except the 1tb ssd the Corsair power supply and the 1660 super and spent under 1000$ on my new parts! In total for the build I paid about 280 because I sold the cpu/motherboard for 220 from the old build so 280$ for a 1tb ssd a Corsair power supply and a 1660 super in today’s market i couldn’t be happier with my first build !!!

His render and editing PC that happen to also be able to play games. Huge amounts of RAM, massive CPU, super fast storage. Yup that looks like someone who sells his 2018 render machine. My general advice for a general gaming machine is always to set about 30% of the budget for the graphics card. But that's just a general guideline, some want more, some less, depending on the games and settings and resolution and if one wants to stream them and if one want's to render them, etc.

When I use the word custom to describe a pc I built I only mean that it's not a branded prebuilt. As for labor, half the time spent on a build for me is playing games on it to see how it does, so it's not like it's really work lol. That pc honestly looks like he built a nice productivity machine and then decided to scalp his gpu and replaced it with his backup.

Hey friend! True about building a workstation machine. But I didn’t scalp my GFX. I’m not a hardcore gamer, so a 580 was enough for me. Bought my parts for $3,200 and sold for $2,500 3 months later. Not what I would call a scam .)

@@MarkCuda In all honesty even if you did just sell the gpu out of it I wouldn't say it was a scam. It's just adjusting to the current market climate, which sucks for everyone. ngl if the pc is what they say it is that is actually a fairly good price rn the graphics card rn for me is $1.1k / £800 ish that's GPU alone not counting the case, heatsink, and all that this is a good price for a good build, you can just take out the 4 sticks put in 2 x 8 and sell the ram for a profit this overall from back in late 2019 would be less than 2500 but rn 2500 is a good price if you were to sell the parts individually

2:30 I have to dissagree that it's like adult lego, yes, putting RAM sticks is obviously ultra easy, but installing all cables on the motherboard, particularly the case and fan ones almost no pc build channels talk about, that you need to look up the manuals and decipher which tiny slot numbered from 1 to 11 is which, that...is not so easy. Compatibility is also a thing that needs to be researched a lot, I have a mobo that needs a specific gen of ryzen cpu's to be able to be upgraded to the 5000 series, which it won't run of the shelf, do you think an average Joe knows what the hell a Bios update is and what Picasso or Matisse are? Then there is two or four slots and xmp's (and the speeds they can achieve on particular mobo's) and things like that. Since I didn't have a 3000 Ryzen series and only had a 5000 one, I decided to send it to a pc shop for them to build it, when they returned it, they didn't even set the damn xmp's and it was on 2400 or something instead of 3200, which a average Joe wouldn't have any idea about.
