The mermaid is a book marker. It had a tassel on the loop and was used to mark your place in a book. Its upside down, its a light fixture for a running light on a boat. The long pointed end goes on the hull, the front opening is for the glass lens and the fixture inside is a light socket for the bulb. I was gifted several clay pipes from the Old Cotton Exchange in Savannah. The one I love has a dogs face on the heel. And dates from the 1700's. Along with a couple of tamback buttons, with shanks. I too love history.

Those brass pieces are old and although I couldn’t tell you what they are great find! When you said boat lamp the lights went on (no pun intended) it does look like that. I believe my brothers boat he sold had one on either side in the back. I think your right! Wonderful day for you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜

Helllooo from Iiiiooowwwaaa, when you don’t upload a video it’s so disappointing but I totally understand. Your dads paintings also are a treat to see. It’s 29 degrees this morning. Yes, the "light fixture" does remind me of the rear/aft light we had on our old wood high sea boat many years ago in Sweden. It also had the hole on top to place/hold a flag. Compass could perhaps be from the same boat but, that would most likely put it at an earlier age since, the light fixture we added to our boat, that looked similar to the one you found, was much younger than the boat itself.

Great time at the beach. I'm totally jelly you have minus tides in the daylight hours this time of year on the East Coast. I wonder if the compass and boat light housing were from the same boat?? Maybe it housed one of the running lights? A red lens for port, green lens for starboard. I live on a small island near the city of Seattle. (Bainbridge) The site of a former shipbuilding facility is now a public park. There I find huge piles of concretions (leftover from an ironworks operation - I have no idea!), many shoe soles and I have also found a few clay pipe stems - but NO pipe bowl. Yet. One of the stems I found had a maker's mark from Glasgow, Scotland. I also once found an intact ceramic lid to some tooth powder from Manchester, England. Years ago, this area had an entire town to support the shipbuilding; stores, restaurants, hotel, homes, churches. I enjoy searching for relics from this time. Now the only thing standing is the concrete structure that housed the generators. If you and your family are ever in the neighborhood let me know and we can go check it out.

Great video Matt the shore looks great I haven't been to the golden nugget in years .I don't know if you watch that women who mudlarks on the Thames but she always find whose pipes and she sometimes referred to a web site on makers marks on the heel of the pipes

Navigation light. Google low profile navigation light and there as similar ones. It could be gas-lit, making it older. I couldn’t clearly see the bit inside to tell whether it was electric or gas.
Well, I can tell you that unfortunately I feel the same way and suffer from motion related sickness. While knowing this I still find it difficult to control the phone camera movement when filming, it comes out much faster on video than when I’m actually watching it being filmed. It’s a bit tricky but I’m constantly trying to remember to move it slower. No worries if you can’t watch , I would hate to be the reason for someone’s motion sickness.
