Thank you! I bought this fan a few months ago after searching for a rechargeable fan and listening to your review and wow! At first I used an old usb charger I had laying around but you have to have the right type as described in the user instructions or it won’t work correctly. I ordered one on Amazon and now on it can last more than 24 hours!! It’s amazing! The quietest and most pleasant breeze and can clip or be a stand fan on a level surface. The best part is you can unplug and put it outside or anywhere you want or leave it plugged in. So versatile! Thank you for your review!
Great review. Just bought one from Amazon while it's on a limited deal before it goes out of stock or price might go up due to high demand. Summer is approaching. Great supplement to my other corded desk fan and best of all its cordless and can be taken almost anywhere without worrying about an outlet. 8inches just the right size as a personal fan for me not too big nor too small. Good battery life. Nice design.
I bought one of those from Amazon and I brought it to Venezuela. Here in Venezuela we commonly face black outs and since I have it, it has been awesome. Personally I think the low speed is great and the battery lasts the whole night.
Ha, Tim - not only did your video save me a ton of reserach time, but was rescue also from a sleepless night... In the heat of summer, accidentally remembered that you mentioned the 'cordless' function...and, indeed, the fan lasted all night ... just sitting in the middle on the floor on its sturdy clamp! Looove that 8" Opolar!
You’re very welcome Gerlinde I’m glad I was able to help with that. I just got up and had mine blowing all night next to the bed keeping me comfortable. Now I’ll charge it back up and have it ready for whatever’s next. Plus I have a second one. The wife hangs it on the shower rod and points it at her when blow drying. 😂 We want to take them to the beach for our chairs too. 😎
Hi Nikhil 😎 glad you got one. Some people are saying they can’t find them on Amazon anymore? I have two because they are great. They clip on anything. Thanks
You’ll figure that out 😂👍 thank you for sharing the video. I want to buy one of this clip on fan for my daughter when she’s in the car she always ask me to turn the car on she doesn’t like the heat. So now I can save everything with this little fan😃 look forward to your next video❤️👍😃 I really enjoyed it!
I bought one on Amazon. It’s excellent. I wanted to buy a second one, and now it doesn’t show up. My purchase history goes to an oops page. However, it looks like it’s being sold under the Koonie brand now. One of the reviews called it Opolar.
Thank you for an excellent review! By the way I'm 66 and 1/2 blind myself I feel your pain but I will buy those fans and figure out how to screw that thing back on LOL
It does it so it won’t destroy the small mechanism of the fan….when you turn it into high speed and turn it off straight away right after the full use it’ll do something not good inside the mechanism of the unit. Just like when you didn’t use your car for how many months when you go for a trip…turn it on and turn it off just a minute and it’ll do something to the engine.
I just ordered this fan from Temu. It was a 2 piece set so my guess it is the smaller ones, but I got it to help keep my dog cool as we travel in the car.. I hope it is the same.
If only I had he cash for this really, though I also want something I could put in my bag, I bought a much cheaper one 10 months ago, the plastic and usb outlet is soo brittle that 3 of it are now broken. I guess I will get the smaller Opolar F97 series one but hopefully it is powerful too and not brittle too.
Bavin 6 inch fan. You can take the battery out it's 18650 flat or not top. MicroUSB. Lots less money, wheel for infinite speed control. Thank me later.
Thank you Hotbusa a lot of people bought these from the review. I have 2 and they still are going strong. I believe the name changed but they’re are the same I believe. 😎
I have 5 of this 10,000 mAh 8 inches Opolar fans....best portable fans I've ever had! I think it's the same model. Can twist open the front cover for cleaning too.
These lithium batteries take forever to recharge because they last forever. I use a brick in a 110 outlet not a computer to charge it. My Mac does not have a fan by the way it’s the new version Mac air. 😎
Good question Craig I have both of mine blowing right now as I read your comment sitting right on their clips. They blow fine but not hard enough to blow them over. 😎
Great review. Apparently this particular "brand" or "model" is no longer made. There are others that look like the same thing but no "OPOLAR" name. Any suggestions on which one I should be looking for. I want one! Thanks for the review.
Sorry the country life I’ve heard from other commentators the same thing. That’s a shame because they are really nice fans and run forever. I have two of them. Thanks for commenting 😎
@@SarasotaTim Thanks for the fast reply. Amazon has some that look and apparently operate just like the OPOLAR, so perhaps the company changed their name. Anyway, I'll check into it.
Been looking at portable fans tonight and want to order one that attaches to a golf cart. The Florida summers are way too hot to not have one. This one was rated high so will likely order it. Just don’t take the face off, right? 😂
Chip I just watched my own video and was laughing my ass off because of you’re a joke. I don’t think I’ve took them apart since then ha ha I hope you can get one I’ve had other people tell me in comments they were sold out maybe they have them now. I know there are other ones that are similar. I still have two of them and the battery will not die, it will run all night and all day on low. Thanks for viewing my friend 😎
@@SarasotaTim Yeah I think it's just made in a chinese factory and different company buy the fan and let them place their logo on it, but they are all the same fan. Doesn't matter though because this fan looks awesome! Might buy one later today gonna do a bit more research. Thanks for the review 👍
Hey, Tim - one review on Amazon says that the fan can be used as a power bank if you use the USB-C port. However, the product description doesn't mention it anywhere. Can you test that? Is this true? Thanks!
No it doesn’t work I just tried it. The fan is fully charged I have a USB iOS charging cord so I plugged it into the fan and the other end to my iPhone. And I got nada nothing zero zilch😎
@@SarasotaTim Thanks for trying! You wouldn't happen to have any USB-C devices handy (like an Android phone), would you? I wonder if charging devices USB-C to USB-C will work - they "negotiate" for power, and I suspect that might make it possible.
If not, I may try my hand at modding it myself. I'm good with a soldering iron, and I'm sure I can add a port and a 5V boost converter without much trouble . . .
These fans are the best. The battery last and last. Whisper quiet and when they blow on you yes you’re cooler😎 Other commentators have said they were unable to find them for sale anymore however? I use mine everyday and I bought two. 😎
Hi mate this looks great for my work. In a green house great battery 🔋 for 10 hour day is the grip on it strong tho. As it would be on a moving borrow etc vibrations etc. Will it keep on you think. And is it all sturdy even the bit were you move it to the direction you want. All strong 💪 ???
Darren it checks all the boxes you had concerns with. However I don’t think the Opolar is the same name you can check but as long as it has the 8 inch blade with the lithium battery the vice grip on it is very strong. 😎 here is the link through my Amazon account they are under Kooney now amzn.to/3IkxjZx
USB C is Android and the other one is USB micro both are used for Android but one is for older Android and what is for newer Android USB C is the newer Android
I bought 2 and just wondering how people are charging it? it only came with usb c cord when I plug it into wall. the wall plugs get hot after like 20 mins and charging threw computer takes forever lol. the fan works great though
Any idea how to make the fan into a remote to switch off and on. Cuz I placed the fan at a high place and I everytime need to climb up and down to switch on and off. Very troublesome
I am looking for a very quiet fan, that can point downwards to keep external USB hard drives from getting too hot. Based on your review, the pointing downward is no problem for this fan. But on the lowest setting, how quiet is it? I sit 10 feet away from where the fan will be, and I watch TV and listen to music (sometimes at low volume with quiet passages). So I do not want to hear the fan. I do not need it to cool the room, or to blow lots of air. Just a light breeze on its lowest setting. It is that lowest setting that I am interested in knowing if you can hear the fan from 10 feet away in a quiet room. Also, I need the fan to run 24/7/365. Will the fan run, continuously, if left plugged in 100% of the time? Or does the fan run only via its built-in battery, requiring repeated re-charging? Thank you.
Do you think the clamp strength is adequate for in a vehicle? I see this fan comes in a variant with blue blades that has “double grip strength” and am torn between that or the normal black model (they are the same price).
Weyers the clamp is strong and can clamp to almost anything. I bought two of these in black. Use them everyday. In my 4Runner while camping I have these both on hanging from the grab handle inside the rear doors up near headliner. Just get the 8inch. The charge last me through the whole night. Then recharge and your ready for the next use. I hang them from the towel rack in the bathroom so after shower it helps. Plus they sit perfectly fine on the base of the clamp they have little round anti slide legs. These fans can be articulated in any direction too. Hope this helps. 😎
I have an older version of the poplar fan and it's having issues charging. The blue light is no longer blinking.i don't know if there is a connection issue. What can I do??? I really like this fan and this version!
No sorry. But it runs for every and then you can recharge. However my latest videos has a fan I just reviewed and that one only runs on usb continuously. 😎
This is a freakin amazing fan. Do a search on: "10000mAh Rechargeable Portable 8-Inch Clip on Fan" I've bought 3 for me & family, hundreds of reviews 4.7 of 5 stars on Amazon. Used to go by the brand Opolar, but those on Amazon have removed that name & sold under Koonie now. Opolar appears to have created their own website to sell direct so they don't have to pay Amazon a commission. I grumbled about the $40 price, but worth it. (10000mAh version)
Mine's just came in two days ago and when I check my history of purchases it doesn't even show up anymore, I think it might be all sold out, it just says oops sorry something went wrong here and it shows a picture of a dog ☹
The link says it's a KOONIE fan, not OPOLAR. Looks the exact same so I just placed the order. Hope it is. Thanks for this review, I've been researching for nearly a week now. Well also be tent camping cross country up to Yellowstone. Subbed
Well honestly I don’t run on high as it’s close to me most of the time. It’s not a fan that you hope to push air from a distance. However it’s significantly less time versus low. There is a speed that you can set and it cycles through all speeds. 😎
@@SarasotaTim Before I saw your comment, I ordered the Svinkal USB Portable Clip on Fan, 10000mAh Rechargeable Battery Operated Fan. I hope it as good as people said in the reviews. I'm also thinking about getting the opolar necklace fan to wear at work. The only problem is that I have to wear it under my shirt and I'm not sure it will work. It also might look odd to have a fan under my shirt. I work outside in Florida in 100 degree heat and it's really horrible.
Whisper quiet and will run all night. I have the 8 inch blades. Unfortunately a lot of viewers have said they couldn’t buy it anymore. Search for the Opolar. 😎
I would think Mike as long as it takes to recharge it. On low runs for hrs. 😎 Still got mine however to be honest I don’t run them continuously as my a/c takes care of that. I got them for over landing in my 4Runner and the beach for my chair. Got two and love them. 🤙
Whisper quiet I have two. On low you don’t hear a thing, medium I don’t use much and on high you just hear the beautiful sound of 8 in fans blowing out an the perfect amount of air. Those clamps will literally clamp to anything.
