I just bought one. They are great. Got a 3rd party 200W solar panel for it as they are more a commodity and the Bluetti one is a little rich price wise. They are supposed to be releasing a new cable that will allow you to link this (and other Bluetti units) w the 806W expandable battery B80. That would turn this into a 1000W+ unit.

Just finished driving from Florida to Nevada (via Mexico) with 12v fridge (and sometimes food warmer) plugged into EB3A which in turn was plugged into the car's 12v. Maintained fridge perfectly and stayed mostly at 100% until we stopped for the night. Never fell below 50%. Strong point of this unit is higher wattage inverter and flexible charging. We use our Ecoflow Delta 2 for higher wattage and watt hour demands.

For us who have no idea what the different plugs are for, Id love to see a video that shows the power station actually hooked up to devices. IE: a small lamp, a computer, a heating pad, electric skillet, etc? What appliances can this actually this be used for? I already have a small portable generator but have only tried it on one lamp with a led bulb. Of course my husband took it so he could read LOL. Do I need a different generator for each room/ person? I looked at this while on sale but it never made any sense to me. at only 268 watt hours having a 600 watt inverter is pretty pointless as you'll only get 25 minutes of run time at full power. its in the weird space of being too big or heavy to carry around for light stuff like hiking/foot travel and way too small for things like powering a single fridge, tv, pc, well pump, or electric starter for gas furnace or water heater for any reasonable length of time. Either go with a portable battery pack to charge your phone/camera or tablet, or go with a 1280Wh lifepo4 battery and a separate inverter to power a few key appliances during a blackout.

One problem. The EB3A needs at minimum about 10 watts solar input to start charging. In bad weather conditions, early in the morning oder in the late afternoon you get no charge. A Jackery 240/500/1000 or a Eco Flow Delta 2 takes every incomming watt to charge.

One thing I would add about "turbocharging" mode is that it is a great feature when you really need a battery to charge up quickly, and used only occasionally, it won't hurt the battery life appreciably. However, faster charging does degrade the battery more over time, so for maximizing battery life people should charge as slowly as their circumstances allow. If one is going to let it charge overnight or for quite a few hours before you need it, charging it in the slowest mode (silent) is best as it will still charge in about 3 hours at that rate. If you need to charge from zero in an hour once in a while, sure, use the fast charging mode.
@mspat8195
@mspat8195 Год назад
I used the fast changing outlet, on the plug-in wall charger, for my portable power banks & 2 (different brands & ages) no longer charge! So, it seems to me, fast/turbo charging greatly affects the life of portables & using it for a phone, tablet, laptop, etc., is a gamble with terrible consequences.

@randybobandy9828
@randybobandy9828 Год назад
@mspat8195 no.. it wasn't the fast charging that ruined your device. Something else went wrong with it. The cells are rated for over 3000 charge cycles and that's just until the max capacity is reduced to 80%.. they can go for thousands of charges more than that. Your bms or outlet on the device must have failed or melted but it isn't the cells themselves.

It's also water proof that is built in a milwaukee packout case. I built a additional 4500wh battery for it for about $550 more. Based on this review, Id say a person should keep looking. Why pay for features a person cant or shouldnt use because doing so may harm the device or what you are powering? This means the average buyer would be paying for unused features as some people noted in the comments. Also, does this require the use of a smartphone or are all features accessible in the device itself? Also, can firmware be updated without a smartphone?

You can use a 12 volt mini rice cooker if the cig port is at least rated at 10 amps. Plus, many regular rice cookers they sell are only 300 watts. My 12 volt mini rice cooker uses only 100 watts and cooks rice in 30-35 minutes. I`m sure I could let it run for 25 minutes then unplug it to save battery. But it even works with my tiny Golabs r300 and only uses 22% of the battery to cook one dry cup of rice so it`s much more efficient than an AC rice cooker. If you look on the "A" store it`s the green and white one with a cat or panda cartoon face on the side. It`s a must have if your power station`s 12 volt cig port is 10 amps.

Instead I built my own power station with a 18ah 230wh 12.8v Lifepo4 cell and a 300w Pure sine inverter. I velcro the inverter to the side of the battery to make it portable and the battery has a carry handle. I like this setup better because I can always upgrade or and 2 more batteries in parallel for 54ah or use the inverter with car power and then velcro it in place when I want to carry it, very modular. Also the battery is rated for 2000+ cycles 10 years vs 3 to 4 with 600-800 cycles with the cells usually found in these stations.

Maybe I can help? On my last vacation trip I took with me my Bluetti EB3 and an older model solar generator and my plan was to use the older one to keep my setpower 12v frig going throughout the trip and to use the EB3 as a backup if be needed but only a day into the trip the older one's 12v socket quit working so I had no choice but to use the EB3 and I'm going to just say not only did the EB3 do the job it was almost more than enough to do the job in keeping that 12v frig going throughout the trip for the next 7 days and with my 100 watt harbor freight solar panel I was easily able to keep it charged up each day.

Still a novelty to me. I haven't really found a use for mine. It would be great to use as a ups for my router and modem if it didn't switch from battery to AC power all the time and disconnect the router and get really warm. The best use for this would be something like a router running off of solar. You can maintain a constant 10 to 20 watt output and maintain that overnight and then catch enough of a charge off a 100 or 200 watt panel as soon as it got light to keep it going indefinitely. I'm going to try it while Moto camping but the 10 lb is kind of a deterrent.

Best single use I've found for mine so far is to run a 12v fridge in the car, for long road trips or for grocery shopping. Fridge runs off the car's 12v (through the unit) while the car is running, but then the unit picks up and powers the fridge with battery for the hours when the car is off. Runs the fridge non stop (plus small fan) all night/ during rests. Recharges quickly again when I run the car. Keeps 30 qt. fridge uninterrupted cold for days on end, full duration of road trip. (Option to switch to solar when the driving stops for a while.). Compact, no fuss, perfect for this.

I have this unit and am pissed off about the 600 watt thing. When you get it, the manual specifically states " do NOT power devices with 400 watts and above". I bought it because of the advertised 600 watt capability. Bullshit deception! Also runs hot and shuts off from over temp when fast charging, have to let it cool and start again. Works fine on silent mode but there goes your "fast charge".

I posted this comment in the main section, but, it looks like yours also runs hot! Mine was on standard mode charging, and due to overheating, the charger shut off. Anyone else noticing that while wireless charging that the top of the Bluetti EB3A and the phone get really really hot! I did not check the temperature then, but I was using the unit in UPS mode during some stormy times and using only 40 W going to my router and Internet box and the top of the EB3A in a 77°F room was 104°F. I actually kinda feel like 600w is in a weird place where it doesn't really matter, and this station has really low watt hours. 600w is too low for heavy duty appliances and more than you need for anything else I can think of. You should either go big or go small. I can't think of much use for the middling models if the watt hours are the same as something half the price. I guess for the charge speed?
@OffGridAdventure

This is a valid perspective. It’s a little more powerful than a battery bank, but not powerful enough to run anything for a long time at higher loads.
@GruppeSechs

@@OffGridAdventure Yup. For example (though I got it just before they raised the price to almost $200), I got a tiny, barebones station for $80 with the same watt hours, but 200w (250w peak). I kind of feel like that serves the same function. I'm struggling to think of anything that requires more than 200w, but less than 600 that you'd even get any use out of at that capacity.

Warning I just returned this unit back for refund. It would not work with Harbor Freight solar panel. What a pain to research the connectors drama. So i finally learn you need a MC4 connector of Bluetti. Then for HF you need a SAE connecter. So i bought cable with SAE one end with 8mm barrel to connect to Bluetti port. After all of that HF panel would not take charge from 100w panel.

Speed of an AC motor is not controlled by voltage as much as the supply frequency. VFDs are speed controllers for AC motors (variable frequency drive). Lowering voltage only causes the AC motor to overheat thus reducing speed a very small amount due to the load unil it overheats and destroys itself.

@jdedmnds1 2 года назад
@@sharon7382 An AC motor turns by a thing called a rotating field. The rotation is based on 60 cycles per second, or 50 cycles per second if you live in Europe. If you reduce the voltage to an AC motor the frequency, ie 60 CPS, does not change. If you reduce the voltage more than 10% the motor will only get hot. Speed of an AC motor is controlled by changing the cycles per second. I hope that helps.

[ I just had a power outage and put it to the test. It was basically useless for anything except charging a phone or tablet. It would only power a small table lamp for a couple hours, or a laptop for a few hours. The only good thing I can say is, it only takes an hour to fully recharge using a wall charger. I have an AUKEY 300W that ran circles around Bluetti. AUKEY ran the table lamp for hours and barely made a dent. Seems like you look at Bluetti and it drains the battery. The thing that irritated me the most is the display goes dark so you can't see the remaining power, but based on my experience if they left the display on, it would take 25% of the power lol. I'm very disappointed, this device is over rated.]
