Ed Miliband has been accused of ditching his vote-winning election pledge to save families £300 a year on energy bills by the end of the decade with Labour’s flagship state-owned GB Energy.
The Energy Secretary failed to repeat his campaign claim as he put forward his bill to create the new body backed by £8.3 billion of taxpayers' money.
