“So Shabby” Vintage Junk Journal - SweetPeaCuriosities DT Project

I'm excited to share my "So Shabby" DT Project for ‪@SweetPeaCuriosities‬. I used the Shabby Chic Ephemera and Clip Art kit, along with more of her kits that I listed below. This "So Shabby" Junk Journal is made from a paper gift bag. The spine has an "open spine" look made with burlap ribbon. It is layered with lots of shabby goodness and adorned with beautiful lace, seam binding ribbon, and a large key charm. I hope you enjoy the video!

Rhonda, this journal has so many things I love in it--locks and keys, shabby roses, that doily!!, lots of tucks and pockets and a pretty pink theme that contrasts sweetly with the jute twine and grungy bits. It's really lovely, and I'm so glad you made the doily a "page" and didn't hide it.

Oh I love this! I love journal made from bags and this one is so pretty! The imagery is delightful. Give me a pink cabbage rose and I'm happy. Your projects are just so delightful, my sweet friend. And I adore the ruffles at the end. XO

I appreciate that, sweet friend… thanks so much! I love pink cabbage roses too. I’ll have to show you pictures of my pink rose bush that’s blooming! Not a cabbage rose, but still beautiful! And my ruffles are nothing compared to yours! I used what was in my stash at the moment and that was a tea bag… works well but a little thinner. I just drool over your ruffles!🥰 Hugs!💗

Rhonda I just had to have this kit it’s just so perfect ! My sweet granddaughters have just moved from fl where we live and they lived so close I saw them most daily for 8, 11 years ( their ages to Washington state and I’m so sad. I’m going to create a memory journal and use this sweet kit and add photos of them Thank you, I believe the Lotd led me to this video as I have been grieving over this loss for days. This will be such a great joy to create ! I’ve been lost as what to create !! Much love and thanks for all you do for others 💜💜💜

It’s such a sweet kit, isn’t it… perfect for creating the memory book of your granddaughters. I went through the same thing a few years ago with my young granddaughters… but God has brought them back closer now. It is heartbreaking, but making the memory journal will definitely help heal your heart and keep them close. The Lord always knows what we need… He’s so good at it too! What is DT?? In my experience, I've only known people to use "DT" to mean Dollar Tree.... But that didn't happen; because this is absolutely incredible!❤

Hi, Jenni! DT is short for “Design Team”… which means I’m part of a team that creates projects using kits from a creator’s designs (SweetPeaCuriosities in this video) and shows different ideas of how to use them.😊But “Dollar Tree” works for me! Hi, Karyn! I’m so glad you’re enjoying them! The ribbon I used is just a 2 1/2 inch stiff “burlap” ribbon with finished edges and has a lace pattern painted on it (I can’t remember where I bought it… Walmart or Hobby Lobby maybe?). I’ve tried to search it and can’t find it… not sure why! As for the paper, I use regular 20 lb. copy paper and 110 lb. cardstock from Walmart that I coffee dye. Hope that helps!
