I gave up on my person today. I am anxious attacher and he's probably avoidant. I have given him so much grace and compassion through the past year. We've been having frequent fights and I still tried to work through things. I kept faith but last night I couldn't. I left him a long message. I don't hate him. I've never been able to hate him. But I have been feeling so stuck, unable to move on. I had to cut the cord, and say my piece. I feel it's over now because he's not the kind of person who fixes anything after a fight. He doesn't mind letting this relationship go as he's told me himself. I loved him but I'm going to put all that effort into forgetting him now. The person who's meant for me will find me, hopefully.

I’ve been in separation with my perfect person for 3 years and it’s been really hard for me. It gets easier I promise but for me, I still think about my person every single day but I have learned to focus on myself at the same time. Eventually healing and growth will smack you in the face and that’s all part of the process. Don’t stress about it, you got this!

He needs to heal completely before he comes back. Hopefully with an awakening from the tower moment. I don't chase. I had gone on a spiritual healing journey and had an awakening. Which brought on self love during the "first" separation. I fell in love with this person and thats just the way i feel. Whether they ever come back around isnt up to me. It does motivate me to work on myself and it makes me aware of the hurt part of me when i dont feel reciprocation. I believe theres a way for me to feel whole without this person. The guy just told me that he realized I am too old for him so he doesn’t want to continue anything even in the future (before when I told him I’m 36 he just said whatever to it). I am heartbroken but I still have an intuitive, possibly psychic feeling that he will change his mind again in a few months and BEG for me back, but I’m willing to be wrong. I know I need to surrender now either way, though.

I've had to let someone go due to his indiscretions. But I leveled up Fast. In the book "Love Life - How To Raise Your Standards, Find Your Person, and Live Happily (No Matter What) author Matthew Hussey gives sage and timeless advice: "Its okay to be disappointed that someone didn't turn out to be the one. But don't grieve as if they were the one. If they didn't choose you, they're not." Tough pill to swallow, but he's right. Why cry over an imposter? Why waste the time? It'll just take longer for your real person to find you. You have to give up something to make room for the real thing to come in.
