“The Weekenders” is Underrated 

I've always felt like The Weekenders was like a kids version of Seinfled, which I also love. It's a cast of 4 characters who are very imperfect, not exactly liked by everyone and get into shenanigans of their own making half the time lol. Also, the dialogue really carries the show with its humor and great writing.

This show was so witty, I still quote it to this day. I think my favourite moment was when they're auditioning the other kids to be Tishs crush, and ask one guy what his favourite musical instrument is. He does a super long air guitar solo with sound effects and everything, then goes "Piiiiiiianoooooo!"

I have a lot to say about this show. I remember when I was in school and during the half term breaks (which were a week long) the UK Disney channel would play a marathon of one of their shows for each day of the week. It varied as to exactly which show was on which day, except for The Weekenders which always the marathon for Friday. It was always my favourite and I would be in our living room every morning watching the dozens of episodes they had. If I could sum up The Weekenders, I'd describe it as... "F.R.I.E.N.D.S for kids". To me, the personalities and dynamics of the casts of both shows are pretty similar. (Tino = Chandler+Ross, Lor = Phoebe, Carver = Joey, Tish = Monica+Rachel). I think it's also very similar to Phineas & Ferb since it's very formulaic but it's a formula that works. Every episode will start with Tino setting up the situation on, at the midpoint of the story Tino will tell his mother about it and he'll take her advice and the plot is resolved and he bookends it with another 4th wall break and drops a "Later days"... and it all just... works. The weekend time frame also acts as a nice little 3 act structure (Friday = Act 1, Saturday = Act 2, Sunday = Act 3, sometimes Monday = Epilogue). This show also has soooooo much meme potential with all of its running gags. Tino's mom predicting what Tino's gonna say before she says it (crossovers with Joseph Joestar come to mind), Frances' "I like pointy things", Carver's constant insistence that he got rid of his conscience, the pizza joint's themes, Tish's parents and the "old country" (kinda like Rolph from Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy, you can see how I made the connection right?), Carver's shoe obsession, Lor's dozens of brothers (like a genderswap version of The Loud House), the "cool kids" being really dull and boring, Captain Dreadnought and Junior Dready the Nuclear Boy ("Oh look, it's Martin Van Buren." "Down with the cotton gin, down with the cotton gin!"), Chum Bukkit (SpongeBob crossover, c'mon people!). One last thing is when I was a kid, I did this thing where while I was watching a show, I would use my 🌈IMAGINATION to transplant my own OC into it while I was watching. For The Weekenders, I had Murdock who was basically just Ed from Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy but with blond hair and better looking to match the (what I thought was) California-esque aesthetic. He was big, dumb and strong and got hurt a lot (again like Ed) and helped out the other four when brute force was required. He also lived alone despite being the same age as the others, I think his parents abandoned him. Yeah he was basically a Gary Stu, but I was in primary school at the time, I didn't know any better. Sooo yeah. The Weekenders, my favourite childhood Disney cartoon. Wouldn't mind it getting a revival. P.S. Bluke is GOATed.

This show is SO GOOD. I wish desperately that they would put it on Disney+

I was introduced to The Weekenders when Toon Disney was airing reruns of it and I loved it. I think part of what made the show get my attention was how much I really liked the show's art style. I also remember finding the fact that each Episode took place over a Weekend fascinating I didn't expect to see Blazing Dragons footage early on in the Video. A close friend of mine was really into that show back when it aired late at night on Toon Disney

Now that we have the complete series on DVD with Volumes 1 and 2 since 2013, The Weekenders and a lesser extent, Dave the Barbarian, further proves that Doug Langdale is actually an underdog compared to the big names in Disney animation. In fact, those two shows aren't as brought up often compared to other classic Disney shows then and now such as Recess, Ducktales, Gargoyles, TailSpin, Gravity Falls, Amphibia, The Owl House, and more.

I want a reboot of this, maybe in high school! And you?

When I see Disney movies or Cartoons I think kingdom hearts or Final fantasy series. I can't see Disney been a kids friendly program anymore that just my opinion. 1. Kingdom hearts if Sora was to crossover to this cartoon I think he would get along with the Characters; Tino would ask why his hair spikey, Carver would commit on his fashion statement say it cool, Tish would ask so many questions how is able to use magic ect.... and Lor would ask do like pizza or something. 2. Final fantasy I'll focus on 16 when they hear Clive Rosefield story to sad and tragic and I think their families would be horrified to hear they would murder a child and same could be said about Kingdom hearts and the keyblade war witch took the live of children and teens. I think Tino and his friend's and family would be lucky that they wouldn't have to experience what either Sora or Clive had experience when they were young.

i will say with charity case i get what tish was trying to do but bebe isn't really worth spending time with i don't think the gang are losers like she thinks but they don't have anything in common and they obviously don't like her so why bother helping at least pick someone who at least has things in common with you i was kind of sad you didn't put tinos dad as one of your faviorites it in my opinion was a good conclusion to the show also i think it ended at just the right time no offense if you wanted more
