Quite. Gender dysphoria is not a 'life threatening' condition like Willoughby claims. Anorexia is. They cannot be compared.

Trans gender, the only self diagnosed condition that is accepted wholeheartedly and treated without question.

Fabienne is completely right. The truth remains, gender dysphoria is one of the only mental illnesses for which the treatment involves pandering to the psychological issue and making irrevocable, physical adaptations to indulge and (supposedly) palliate it. By actively encouraging this, we are simply storing up a multitude of problems for a multitude of kids which will no doubt return to bite them in the not too distant future when a large number of said kids gain maturity and realise that they've been coerced into making a truly horrible mistake.

@@AntisocialMediaMike Agreed, Mike. It is child abuse on a massive scale to affirm the delusion that they are "born in the wrong body". No one is, we are born into our body, whether male or female. Puberty blockers should never be given to children in these circumstances, not only do they stunt genitals but brain development. Their effects cannot be reversed either. Then chopping off healthy body parts - mutilation for a delusion.

Do you think doctors entertained going along with it in part because it was predominantly men pushing this? I had issues with eating disorders and ocd as a young woman and my concerns and interests were definitely not taken seriously by the majority of medical professionals.

How? Statistically allowing people with gender dysphoria to go through gender reassignment surgery and be referred to as the opposite sex reduces the rate of suicide in people with gender dysphoria and allows them to live a much happier life. Yes some de-transition but that’s only the case with 1% of trans people, where as the failure rate of any of the other treatments of gender dysphoria is way higher than 1%. They didn’t choose it.
