At Technosoft they really know what they were doing with the YM2612, this is a masterpiece not only by genesis musical standards but also by normal music standards. Oh and omakes are great, just like they figured "hey 1hr of music isn't gonna make it, let's do another 30mins!). Simply amazing

I think Omakes were supposed to be the original soundtrack planned for this game, but maybe was redone for some reason and the programmers decided to keep the first version of the soundtrack at least in a deep place of the cartridge.

@@elvisrobotbeta3299 nope, you are wrong, Omake are bonus themes from others games composed by Toshiharu Yamanishi (some are from other Technosoft games, like TF3, herzog zwei, etc). Check the website project2612 for the name and origin for the omakes tracks ;)

@@manuelink64 Naosuke Arai programmed the sound drivers of all Technosoft games so pretty sure he was responsible. Maybe with some advice from the composers but Arai programmed the tools and instruments.

@@danmakuman The songs composed under his name were honestly kinda flimsy in comparison to this, but damn, if your info checks out, he's still a badass for setting up shop for all the other artists to work on! Compared to megadrive songs in general though, his songs were pretty high standard, cause damn, i've heard some really terrible ones coming from that console.

Hey Acro, just wanted to say thanks for all these videos. I got some problems going on in life right now, and as nerdy as it sounds my semi-daily-ish ritual of listening to whatever new chiptune that you, SuperJet,Vinns and all the rest of the crew is one of those things that helps me put a smile on my face and calm down. I don't know what compels a man to upload so many oscilloscope views but I appreciate it. Also, why has no one ever told me this ost existed holy fuck this is good.

It wouldn't surprise me. Although the SNES had some great soundtracks, none of theme were as metal as the Sega Genesis.

Skyline Fever well, there was Doom I guess, which unlike the 32X port featured a near perfect port of the soundtrack :P But nonetheless even the Doom soundtrack pales in comparison to TFIV music like Metal Squad XD

@@furiousfox7712 nah, the original Doom soundtrack was near the same level as TFIV, and the SNES port butchered the tracks. The overdriven guitar is dispensed in place of some weird brass instrument for whatever reason, and everything sounds flat.

Damn, this is fire! BTW the timestamp for Omake 7 is incorrect, it should be 1:20:28 The timestamps after that are mesed up too. Also I can't unhear the Taco Bell bong sounds in that track lol.

How do you do entire soundtracks? do you just slap all the songs onto one big file and then run it through Corrscope? Or do you edit the video itself?

I manually edit the tracks into single files with audacity, but I'm thinking of switching to just using ffmpeg to stitch a bunch of separate videos together.
