Talent is not equally distributed, though. If it was, then everyone would have equal potential to be an Olympic medalist, regardless of sport *and* Nobel prize winner. That is clearly not the case. Unless 'opportunity' is going so far as "Literally everyone else who might possibly compete suddenly cannot"
@adamkis3569
@adamkis3569 5 месяцев назад
@@nctpti2073, I understood it as saying that talent is equally distributed within populations, not individuals. That is, if 1% of whites have the potential to be Olympians, so do 1% of blacks, 1% of Asians, 1% of Latinos...

Racists know that talent is equally distributed. That is what scares them. If it is acknowledged and acted upon that talent is equally distributed, the amount of people competing with each othrr will become larger. They are scared if the competition. Afraid they themselves will come short. They don't see that then other roads can open up. Example: A young basketball player who did not make it in the NBA, could end up playing in Europe. In addition to keep playing basketball on an high level, he will have the experience of living in another country, maybe learning another language. If the NBA level was lower, then Europe would probably not be interested in players who didn't make the NBA. Another person will maybe become basketballen coach or a physical therapist with valuable experience in playing top sport. Others could become sportscommentator or something completely different.

We are all Human beings. Like identifying with "religion", identifying as a "race" before identifying as a human separates us .... yes we all have geographical and cultural differences, but we are all human. Humanity must come first..... getting rid of religion would be a great start in ending strife world wide

@@warmtea6801the only thing this argument supports is that the only thing holding Christians back from being violent and hateful are supposedly devine words from a 2000 year old book and a fear of punishment, and one of the biggest issues is that it's not even that effective. At the same time, it's insulting to other religious and non-religious people, also implying that those who don't believe in a god (let alone YOUR god) don't have the capacity for goodness. It's called *human* decency for a reason.

The power of diversity is oft misconstrued. It's all about perspective, the more ways you can look at a problem, the more tools in the toolbox. The power of diversity is more intra than extra, it's not about people looking different, it's about people thinking different. And diversity is powerful.
@jimbrown1559
@jimbrown1559 5 месяцев назад
Absolutely! The customers of most corporations are diverse; having that diversity throughout the company, and especially in upper level management, allows the corporation to make better decisions. Newsrooms need the perspective provided by diversity so that they can do better reporting. Our law enforcement, legal, and medical establishment needs that perspective for all the same reasons. It's all about understanding the many diverse cultures that make up our country.

I do agree that the (non white community) must do not to become a target as an aggressor. It’s horrific! But at the same time, regardless of color or dna combinations (I hate the word race as it implies there must be a winner and a looser!) But we should be adult and mature enough to leave our bad day at the end of the bad part of the day and not take it to the marker\t or home to take it out on our spouse and or children! Ask me how I know this?
@blahco4tt
@blahco4tt 5 месяцев назад
I'm not sure if you're realizing this, but you're basically saying non-white people are supposed to always disarm, whereas those who are white do not. That's basically telling non-white people they have to act to or come off a certain way for you to not be prejudice toward them. This is a free country. Unless they're harming someone or something, they have a right to be who they are. They don't owe you a smile.
