We won but I’m with Deion, we’re better than that. At least we need to be. If last week didn’t feel like a loss, this win did not feel like a win. Shedeur played his heart out. And Mata, he was the man!
So crazy how fast Prime turned things around. The Buffs are 4-2 and are talking about winning with style points. If you told CU fans back in April that we would be 4-2 people would be thrilled and would be happy with any kind of win. You know your program is arriving when you’re talking about winning with style points. Way to go Prime for elevating the program.
I agree with the main point that the turnaround is pretty amazing, but wouldn't say "style points" is the right framing. It's about not playing down to your competition and maintaining a standard, good principle to establish early.
Remember when Jesus Christ entered the temple and was upset, so he flipped over the merchants' tables? Deion is a man of God, chosen by God, sent by God for us to learn from. There have only been two men who capture the righteous anger that Jesus Christ had, and those two men of the Bible are Deion Prime and Donald J. Trump. These young men are walking in the name of Jesus on that football field, and I'm doing my part by walking in the name of Donald J. Trump when I spread God's Holy Message about Trump's plan. Let's go boys!!! Go Buffs!!!!
Facts. But some credit also goes to Travis Hunter and Shiloh. If TH hadn't been there for TCU, that game's an L, and without Shiloh CSU is an L, despite Shedeur's greatness. They need some 5 star OL and DL (at least 1-2 on each side) and 1 5 star edge to compete with the ranked teams. Hopefully they can recruit some next year, because the window gets a lot smaller without a first round QB.
Deion is brilliant! This was a call to arms for any OL man that believes he's HIM, and can protect the QB. The fresh recruits are going to be the best of the best.
Deion has the God given light to bring our family back to Jesus. Deion is the chosen one from God Almighty. Deion and Donald J. Trump are the only two men I trust with my family, my wife, or my children.
Shredder is running for his life on every single play or he’s sacked. No offensive line, they can’t run, desperation plays. Gotta love Coach Prime and his temperament in adversity.
@@derrickburwell7777 Derrick my brother, search your scripture and your inner light. Whether it be Deion Prime, Christ of Lord, Donald J. Trump...all of these MEN have the will of God and the touch of God. Brother if you aren't willing to sacrifice for them, then turn the television off! We're on to the next and we are not slowing down.
Shedeur lowers his shoulders and runs right over the defender and no linemen, no one from his team is there to help their QB up says alot! Where is the fire? Where is the individual "reach out" to help motivate the team? Shedeur is leading the way! Is anyone on the team going to follow?
It's probably time for their QB to take the linemen out for dinner to build rapport. Right now it only looks like he has a rapport with Travis Hunter and that's it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that is MAD at how poor we played today... Honestly I'm happy now to see that coach is mad because I feel like him they are so much better than this
Everybody's taking about needing a better O line. But overlook the idea that it's not always about getting finished products at the college level. That's really the one position where strength counts the most, but strength can easily be manufactured more than skill or speed. Of course some guys will always be bigger and stronger naturally but you can level the field more than one would think if you know what you're doing. If you can get guys with decent enough size you can build them up before the season through tailored diets, high end supplements, max heavy lifting, and training
It is better to WIN ugly than to lose beautiful! He said last week that you can learn a lot when you WIN. They have a lot of deficiencies. This is year one of a rebuild. 4-2 is a good start to the season.
They only play well when they are afraid they are going to lose. Which makes them slack up in the beginning and play catch up in the end. They have to fear the first quarter more than they fear the 4th.
Something tells me that if these young men are addressed as MEN, that’ll put the needed pressure on them guys. Coach Prime’s love and admiration for his players is commendable so him loving and addressing them as his kids is an exception quality for a coach to have towards the players however…they’re playing a man’s game…STEP UP FELLAS 🤝🏾💪🏾
So true brother, and remember, Deion is walking in the name of Jesus Christ, so walk like Deion and you will be walking like Jesus. I got Donald J. Trump up there with Deion, too, but that's another one for another day. Walk like PRIME BOYS! GO TRUMP!
Donald Trump walks like Jesus? Yeah, Jesus Rivera! He's not even a Christian! His Own Words, and actions, prove that! "I am not sure I have," Trump said when asked if he'd ever asked God for forgiveness. "I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so," he said. "I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don't bring God into that picture. I don't." I. DON'T. BRING. GOD. INTO. THAT. PICTURE. - Yeah, sounds like he was quoting Jesus, huh? Do me a favor, if you don't mind, could you please tell me what book, and verse, did Jesus say that about God? 🤔
@@avp705 I have to disagree, respectfully. The O line is the OC responsibility. If they can't block or protect, he has to make adjustments: crossing routes, screens, options, etc. Get creative: add a lineman as a Full Back for protection, something. I think he's a good Offensive mind, but the places he's calling they can't execute. That's on him.
Week in and week out we see the same scheme offensively. If the casual fan can anticipate what is going to be called, im sure coaches on the opposing team know it as well. Establish the run game early with Hank and Wilkerson. Move Shedeur outside of the pocket to keep him from getting hit. Stretch the opposing teams defense. They have the talent to move the ball they just need to be put in the right position. And defensively they need to wrap up. They all focus on lowering the shoulder and stopping their feet at the point of contact. Run through the man.
@isaiahhamilton925 as a coach myself, I understand how OCs function. To some extent, I can agree with your statement. But after 6 weeks of inconsistencies, it's time to scrap whatever plan there is because obviously it's not fluid. Could have used play calling instead of scheme but the sentiment is still the same nonetheless. He's too predictable. To your point, there wasn't any "wrinkle" to the pay calling until late 3rd quarter going into the 4th.
By Deion telling the facts it will keep the team anchored and translate to the players understanding that they don't play like a dominant team. Because in every game they have to play catch up to make every game's outcome look competitive in wins and losses. They will get better with coaching, time, and experience in D-1 play.
@ronaldmayle1823 I hope you are kidding that CU is average... USC was ranked #5 and CU gave USC all they could handle, so is USC just above average? I hope you are just trolling, if not , wow! The 2000 Ravens offense ranked 14th that season, pretty much middle of the pack in scoring, so in your evaluation of the ravens they would have been average too. Maybe we are watching two different CU teams. Average teams don't find away to win close games. Just my opinion, Shalom!
@ronaldmayle1823 The only thing I know is that CU is 4-2... I'm not that smart but that's 3 more games than last season and 2 more wins from a bowl game. I'm not sure but I think so far they have played the teams on their schedule and bet the teams they were supposed to. Help me overstand your point.
@@52sam87 Now listen very carefully. CU beat the trash teams that it was supposed to beat, and lost to the good teams that everyone knew that it would lose to. Now CU will get a bowl game (maybe) by beating 2 more trash teams. That makes CU a run of the mill team. Now, do you understand the the media buildup of Deon is confusing you and all the brown noses at ESPN?
Literally, I’ve been screaming this on the top of my lungs. The guy was breaking records when he was at Huston. Dude almost had 1,000 yards as a freshman but isn’t getting any touches. WHY!!!
Turn social media off. I know Bucky, Darius, and Kneely are trying to make their own money but social media needs to be put aside. These players need to be locked in. The team barely won and Shedeur is in the press conference holding up his watch and saying he has new music coming out. Turn those cameras off and LOCK IN!!!
You guys have to realize this is all of their first year together. Coaches , players , staff . Cut them some slack . No one jumps into a job and is great at it the first couple months at it.
I with Coach, the O Line has no grit. Started with the Travis hit, how the hell does one of your main players get snuck like that and there wasn't one Offensive Lineman in site. On top of that your QB was down there. In the future I believe we can get some dogs. We have two dogs on the sideline Tyler Brown and David Connor.
What do you mean? The O line is the attitude of the Offense. So when the team scores a touchdown, the o line runs down to celebrate. But when your brother gets smack on a late hit you don’t run down to check on him or confront the player who did it. Maybe it’s just me but the O line are like the big brothers on the field.
@@anthonytaylor7928You don’t know football. When something like that happens, your lineman are the ones that pull up and let you know that shit like that doesn’t slide
This reporter that says "It's Jarring" must be totally new. ppl who have supported n watch Deion compete, commentate or coach know Prime is positive but is human with emotions. Him being upset after a win exemplifies why he's great.
Because CU is a mediocre team that lacks focus. All these kids are caught up in the hype. They don't focus up until the 4th quarter when they realize they're about to lose.
I don't agree with those who think that social media is the problem. for those who think so, how much better would the buffs be with no social media? they're 4-2, for Pete's sake. Unranked. Was ranked for a couple of weeks. they are (essentially) a brand new team with a brand new coach; and it's only Game #6. It's sooo obvious where their weaknesses are. the O-line was exposed in the Nebraska game and has been ever since. The D-line was exposed in the Colorado St game and has been ever since. Travis hasn't played the last three games and they STILL showed a lotta heart against USC. I'mColorado
Sean Lewis protection schemes have to be called into question. I get players losing one on one battles. But schematically they lost as well with free unaccounted for rushers with no contingency plan within their scheme. Reality is there is a high high chance of injury with this type of exposure to sacks. Shedeur also needs a plan outside of protection for some layups in every play call to get the ball away or AT LEAST throw a way options and that is on him.
It's called run the ball they got 5 running backs use them it's no reason to always have a one back formation or no back formation .they don't run the ball well because the runners nor the blockers have any rhythm. They bust a big run and then don't run the ball again. Sean Lewis refuses to call two running plays in a row . It's run the ball till they stop it . Designed QB runs Shedeur knows how to slide and protect himself
@@Yungtalli850C2 Part of it is scheme as you said. But Shedeur who i like as a QB. Needs to learn the concept of live to fight another day. Learn when the journey is over and throw it away. Just by doing that he would have saved drives. Holding the football just isn't a option. Also, touching on what you said. D. Edwards needs to be looked at for his role. On one hand he makes plays and is needed in the passing game. On the other hand Him running the football isn't working up the middle and more pitches and concepts on the edge would benefit him.... and I think We may need to explore the other RB's to see if there is a chance to get someone who can make more plays.
@@WildDogg357 i mean lets be honest. We are fans spit balling. But there merit in considering switching personnel up to try to find a spark. Running the same play with the same people almost never turns into "we got something here"... usually when a unit turns it around offense defense or special teams it comes with a personnel change... or at least "find the hott hand" And there is a reality that there is no solution to this and it just is what it is.... But, I would like to see Alton McCaskill get some looks and see if he can make more "we got something here" plays.... combined with a realistic coaching adjustment like the use of motion inside with jet sweep action they can plus into their existing run pass option concepts .. with your occasional hand off.... or dump off to motion man... or fake... something to help the OL because they simply aren't gonna magically start blowing people off the ball...... and it would benefit Shedeur because play action concepts off of that often give layups in the passing game to get the ball out quick.... just spit balling
@@shankdiddy9045 it's not he holding the ball tooong you can just call pass pass pass pass because tge first read might not get open or run the wrong route the online gets blew by he doesn't even have time to the throw tge ball way today game was a perfect example of that he immediate pressure throws the ball away gets called for international grounding the very next play of the game they call a pass he gets sacked why even call a pass ? They don't run the ball enough . Weaver has a great return they come out call a pass qb sacked bad play calling they knocked the whole momentum out of a big play .
At this point it’s on the coaches. They still take no responsibility for having the worst pass/run ratio in college football. They were running the ball better last year. Today is the first day it looked like they committed
I feel you coach prime because that whole team looks so disorganized defense ain’t got a clue what they’re doing like they’re winging it in D1 football if you ain’t never played football you probably won’t understand what I’m saying, but the ones that have they can see it offensive line is horrendous Cornerbacks lining up on the wrong side, leaving wide, receivers wide-open not even covering them they look really disorganized and I feel bad for Coach prime. He deserves better it’s like what are they learning from a whole week of practice and then get into a game and play like that, are you kidding me that was horrible
I honestly feel he's being waaay to nice to his coaches, especially special teams coach, O.C. and etc. He may wanna reconsider his rule about not cursing.
Edwards is on the field waaay too much and at the wrong times in the 4th qtr, they needed to get first downs with a big back in there so play action would be effective and Mata could have hit a FG for a 10pt. lead after a long time consuming drive. There would have been no drama after that.
prime, this isn't on coaches/kids. this isn't even on the defensive anymore. the number 1 issue you NEED to resolve is the offensive line. it is an absolute nightmare man. i get you are a star position player and probably loaded up on star positions, but that O line is why you guys are not 4-1.
Gotta Love him. Win and convince the world that the win was nearly worse than losing. That is a coach who will eventually get his entire team to play WAY above their heads each and every play. I chuckle when I hear fans complaining of this performance. Many of these same people were questioning this coach's abilities back in the spring when 50 returning players were let go from the 2022 roster. Colorado is 4-2 and already nearing bowl contention with half a season remaining. This time last season they were 0-6 with the average margin of loss being about 30ppg.
Sean Lewis and Bill O’Boyle and the special teams Coach outta there! Hope y’all can read between the lines, ain’t no way Prime subjecting Shedeur to this bs MAC Conference scheme next year believe that! Prime knows too many Pro Offensive Coaches to settle for this. 💯
@@wonderwoman8434 Partially correct. The way the Defense is, you would think that Vance Joseph of the Broncos is coaching the Buffs defense as well. Right now, they can't seem to stop a runny nose even if they all had a box of kleenex to hand out let alone stop a run or shut down a pass play.
This OC needs to create a script of plays to keep going back to for profits since TCU he hasn't schemed much up sick of the leave it up to 2 and hook, and out routes all game. No deep shots no scheming up deep passes its crazy. DC needs to go zone in short down and distance. its easy to see they hitting CU with crossing routes for profit.
They played to the level of their competition this game. The team still needs some big fellas in the trenches on both sides of the ball. I think this team will take the next step once they get the right personnel on the lines. It's the first year of this build on a team that was 1-11 last season and has only had 5 seasons with a winning record since 2000. If they can get to 6 wins this year that's a success
This is how the head coach prepares his team for a game. The buck stops at the head coach, period. There is such a thing as putting to much pressure on someone that can’t handle it. This is always the problem with great players becoming coaches. They put the same kind of pressure on the players as they put on themselves but it never works. Good and great coaches adjust the expectations that they put on the player based on that individuals capacity which brings out the best that player can give. Until Deon learns this his teams will continue not play up to expectations no matter how great the talent is.
It’s even so much the sacks. The team just look like amateurs bc the coaches have them confused on the field. They need to get their shit together and let them boys just play ball
Need to start off getting rid of the ball quick instead of testing the D-line to see how long he can hold onto the ball. Increase the time after you get a feel for the Defense
Offense is so predictable. 1st down run, 2nd down screen pass or 5 yard curl, 3rd down deep crossing route. Shedeur is masking a lot of bad play calling.
We need the Big Guys to come save the Day. Calling All OL , From Georgia, to Texas, to florida Nebraska to Cali.. Lets Make it happen in Colorado. It’s Still Bulldog Nation 💪🏿. But Go Buffs Too.
Colorado needs to throw short to begin every game and disguise their plays a little better. Once they suck the defense up close then go down the field.
And they have Wilkerson on the bench. He is a load and runs great in between tackles. He has the ability to catch short passes as well and turn it into something positive.
This is a rebuilding year and CU should win enough to go to a bowl (they have a million bowl games and you can be dang near 500 and be bowl eligible). The O line needs help and defense is suspect. Prime should get 4-5 star recruits and have a great team in a few years.
