I was there that day myself, it was the conference championship track meet at FSU, I was a jumper for Memphis State. He did it just like that, and handily beat some very fast people who were dedicated track stars. I won’t ever forget that one myself.

One point though Just to clarify I remember he did jump over fence in his baseball uniform, but quickly changed into track uniform and shoes for the 100, quickly changed and went back for the baseball game. At least how I remembered the conference meet if that was the one. It was so cool to see him do that

Deon got sent back to the minors before he gave up on baseball

I saw him hit a pop fly in the minors in a game in OKC. By the time the ball landed he was already passing 3rd bass. I remember a gasp coming over the crowd. Talk about speed!!!

There's still a lot of kids who blow up high schools like that but I'd argue colleges/professionalism are the bottle necks and not AAU.

Rice was not a hard guy to cover. Rice was not talented just determined and very durable. Prime could not cover Moss for his life.
