Dr B, I found your videos during Covid and watched every day (sometimes a few a day) until I caught up. Now I wait each week for a new video to be posted. I've had a consult with you, and will have a follow up when all my tests come in. The knowledge you share with us is a God send. My only regret is finding you 7 years after menopause hit. Had I known what I know today, I would have started HRT while still in perimenopause. It is a travesty that our family Doctors don't inform us of our risks for 3 major diseases when nearing menopause. I've already told my daughters (and sons: the more people know, the better) about the risks so that they can be empowered to help themselves. I really appreciate all that you do for Women's health.

I am so glad that you see the importance of this education, and understand why this is my mission. It is so unfair that women do not get the help they need. And it is inexcusable that doctors do not get an education on menopause. I will work till my death to change things in both realms. Thank you so much for appreciating my efforts. I love having you as my student here at "Menopause University." You are a true ambassador for menopause.

I decided to educated myself on perimenopause/menopause by watching Barbie's videos.. The woman is a true Goddess. Thank you so much I've been liberated by your knowledge in helping me to make the right decision in choosing to start HRT, it has changed my life.. No migraines so far 🤞🏻I feel 18 again!!!! Thankyou Barbie 💖 my Doctor was so impressed by how much I knew about menopause hormones & the HRT positives... X

So if I have mild calcification, am 62, does that mean I should not start HRT? Even though I cannot get rid of this weight or sleep?
@drannymama
@drannymama 3 месяца назад
If my doctor doesn’t want me on hormone replacement, because I am 62 and heart attacks run in my family even though I have not had any heart issues, I am supposed to just wait it out and have that heart attack that they are worried about? Don’t I have just as good a chance with hormone replacement is without why would taking hormone replacement, make me even more susceptible to having a heart attack? I just don’t get this.

Thank you Dr. Taylor for clarifying the “When”. As a person with a chronic illness, I often share with other women in similar situations that hormone levels can be greatly affected well before menopause due to chronic illness. HRT was a huge game changer for me as I was diagnosed and treated for a chronic illness!

Doctor, I have always wondered what your thoughts are on women who live with PCOS. You have been a huge influence in my consideration that they would benefit from early use of estradiol and progesterone, not unlike menopause dosages, in order to compete with their hyperandrogenism, and like the menopause community, PCOS sufferers appear to be an under-treated, ill-regarded yet common segment of our community.

Not just that but all the medical gaslighting we women get for almost everything. 8/10 times the Dr says stuff like 'it's all in your head' or 'you just have stress' and meanwhile you have stage 4 endo (my story.) or deadly heart issues or brain issues or organ issues etc. But it's all in our heads and we have stress and need to exercise. Medical gaslighting is doing grievous harm to and/or is killing too many women. The gyno/surgeon who finally took my severe cramps seriously and did medical work to check me out (got a hysterectomy and had stage 4 endo), I cried cuz I was heard. I had answers. I ended up telling her these very words: I was going to put on my grave stone "I think I'm dead - but that's actually just all in my head. I need to exercise more. That will fix this."

Stop fearing the hormone that has served you all of your lives ladies! Hi Barbie! Thank you for all your time and effort educating all us women. I am astonished how many doctors that are against HRT. I had my Gyno appt today. Thankfully, my doctor believes in the importance of HRT for preventing the diseases you mention. I am 50 years Old and have been having hot flashes and mood swings for the last few years. Most recently, the libido is lower, mood swings up. He gave me samples of Bijuva (estradiol and progesterone) 1mg/100mg per capsule. It says plant based FDA approved. I never take any meds so I am little cautious. I hope this is effective against diseases not just hot flashes(it seems to just talk about relief from hot flashes).

Maid of the Mist Annie here.Dr. A bit off topic: but I am so irked at the coveregae of HRT nedicines! The best option for me is not really covered, and currently there is no generic. Luckily I have a bunch of samples from my doctor. I am signed up for co-pay assistance . However this is funded thrrough donations and is currently closed. So here I am, biting my nails & hoping the fund will open up before my samples run out. Also it is first come first served. So I have to check every morning because if it opens and I don't jump right on it, I could miss it my chance. So stressful!

I'm half through and am curious.... I JUST began peri & my hot flashes and freezing are constant. The flashes are so brutal I have sweat pouring down my body. The resulting freezing is so bad I can't move. Picture being naked, locked inside the coldest freezer ever, with freezing cold water constantly poured on you like a waterfall. That's how bad my post flash 'chills' are. The flashes last between 10 and 35-40 min and the freezing lasts about 20 min or so. Then the hot flashes begin immediately after the freezing. 24/7. I was planning on somehow getting hrt estrogen asap (via making a gofundme or something).I'm beyond depressed. I have to leave my job cuz these are so bad. Kinda don't even want to live any more cuz the constant suffering is so bad. I dont have insurance and am lower wage so I can't afford a DR or the hrt. I've tried all the non prescription things like black cohosh (made it way way worse), diet changes, more water, deep breathing, layering clothing, and nothing helps. Nothing. Had a hysterectomy, kept one ovary and cervix. So I'm not even sure when actual menopause will hit since I haven't had a period since April 2013. I can't handle this for too much longer. My life went from amazing to living in pure 24/7 hell. I can't imagine living like this for 5 to 30 more years or longer. I just turned 49. I loathe being female. We suffer from puberty til we die of old age :'(

Is there a video where she talks about bio identical HRT? Or is it all the standard HRT?
@MenopauseTaylor
@MenopauseTaylor Год назад
I've covered this numerous time in numerous videos with regard to different contexts. But, I think you might not know the proper definition of "bioidentical." Most people have a misconception about the definition of the word, “bioidentical.” This goes for both doctors and patients. “Bioidentical” merely means that the molecular structure is identical to that of the hormone molecule produced by your body. “Compounded” refers to an industry that is entirely unregulated that makes hormones. Both pharmaceutical companies and compounding pharmacies produce “bioidentical” hormones. The difference is that the pharmaceutical is regulated, but the compounding industry is not. If you want your HRT to prevent heart attack, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer’s, the only industry that can guarantee that is the pharmaceutical industry. If you want me to help you assess and meet your goals, please schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online.

Do you still recommend that or have you changed your mind? (Or am I remembering incorrectly…brain fog 🤣?) Thank you.

Oh my! You have either not watched these videos in order or really misinterpreted what I'm trying to teach you. First of all, I never "recommend" anything. I merely teach you the facts and let you decide what's best FOR YOU. If you schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME, I tailor everything specifically TO YOU and help you decide what's best FOR YOU. Here's what I've taught you: The estrogen window (the first 10 years of post-menopause) is really about aging.The whole issue of the estrogen window of opportunity is about timing. More specifically, it’s about aging. And we do not all age similarly. So there are exceptions to the rule of a closed window being an absolute reason to forego HRT. Simply put, if your body has aged to a degree that taking HRT is more risky than beneficial, it is best to avoid it. But if your body has not aged to a degree that taking HRT is more risky than beneficial, then it may be best to take it.
