It should be MANDATORY to teach this in cosmetology school - and how to work with every different kind of hair type and texture.

But often you see African Americans complaining online when non black people do black hair. They claim they're stealing black hair stylist jobs and culturally appropriating black hair care. Why risk getting cancelled over that?

@@BaDazai Yes, Gina, of the Gina Curl, gets unbelievable flack over her dedication to black hair care. One crazy black woman has dedicated her entire channel to slandering Gina. I have 4C hair and I haven’t received that complaint from a stylist. The main thing they complain about is the thickness of my hair and how they “would’ve charged me more” if they knew how thick my hair was. It makes me feel SO uncomfortable, like they’re expecting me to offer more money or something. I’m black, with normal black hair- a few of them have made me feel bad for that. My long time stylist moved away two years ago and it’s been a struggle ever since 😩😩😩

You’re right. Damaged hair is what is ugly. Healthy hair in any texture is beautiful. My sister has type 3ab hair that is so dead, limp and damaged and every time I see her I beg her to go get a haircut. I’m his style came out really nice!

It was my mother's 4c hair that made me go natural. My son and mother both have 4c hair and to ME it is the most beautiful hair I have ever seen. Everyone can say curly, straight etc but 4c gives me life. Their hair is strong, resilient, well maintained just beautiful. My hair is not 4c and breaks easily.

Thank you for everything you said. I have very thick coarse 4C hair and I've dealt with those judgements my entire life. I was even afraid to go natural cuz I believed the hype that the only way to wear a style other than braids is with a relaxer. My mom started putting kiddie relaxers in my hair when I was about 6 yrs old. So I never even knew how pretty my natural coils could be. While it is a lot to deal with on a regular basis. I don't regret going natural or having 4C hair 🥰. You did a great job btw, would love to see her with a really good trim. But like you said, it's not our hair 🤷🏾‍♀️. Blessings to you 🙏🏾 ❤️

My sister has beautiful, healthy 4C hair and does everything under the sun to it and it's healthy. And then I'm jealous because even with my 3C hair with 4A in the crown I have to have a strict schedule for how I care for my hair to keep it healthy. I can't even begin to do all the styles she does because although it's dense, my strands are fine and damaging them is easy. And I only wear my hair out like once a month because it tangles like crazy! She used to be jealous of my hair until she got older and saw the difference in my routine compared to hers. Now she's elated that she's got her 4C hair instead of mine.

I was a natural for 2 years and decided to go back to a relaxer and deep conditioning was and is a game changer. Everyone is different and their hair but still take care at home it makes a difference at the salon.

Girl, I went to a hair school they looked at my hair because it was thick they were like we have a problem, you have c grade hair I didn't understand what the what . . . Never in my life that I hear of anything like that. I have never had a problem coming out my hair they didn't want to do it because it was thick so I really hate the fact that people categorize your hair level either you got a professional and get it done or you can't but I went to like I said at your school and it's wrong to do that just because somebody has long or thick hair. They need another job.
@KrissypooHairView
@KrissypooHairView Год назад
It’s unfortunate that you had to go through that. It’s sucks but yep some places don’t like to deal with 4C hair. That’s why it’s was so dope that the owner created the pressedroots Blowdry/Silkpress bar that I’m working at because literally if you go to any other Blowdry bar with tightly coiled hair, they will turn you away as well. Or I’ve heard stories of places that have literally snuck relaxers or some form of texturizers on people with natural hair. It’s unfortunate that 4C gets a bad rep, we just have to continue to glorify, love, and advocate for how amazing 4C hair is.
@Serenityblu23
@Serenityblu23 Год назад
@@KrissypooHairView I'm Natural and I have had the same issues with my stylist. She kept asking me to relax it, texturelize it, or dye it claiming it would make my 4c hair more manageable and straight. Finally after a year she told me she was going to cut it and texturlize it. I stopped going only to return to go to a different salon and find out she now worked there. She told me that she wanted to put a keratin treatment in my hair to make my hair more manageable. I told her I didn't want any chemicals in my hair. She lied and said it was just a protein treatment and my hair would revert back to its curly state in a few months. I called her out and haven't been back since. Turns to find out she doesn't like 4c hair and considers it nappy. She told my sister that when she was getting her hair done.

Hello Sis Loved how you explained about moisture and hair health. Changed my hair type so I thought. Thought I had 4c hair. Started using amla & fenugreek in my conditioner (teaspoon each) and my hair changed completely. In addition I shampooed every 8-14 days. I ended up with 4a silky, curly hair. Shocked me to the moon. I wondered how many of us dont even have the hair type we think we have. THE HAIR IS JUST LACKING MOISTURE, just like u said. Do you use natural products like amla? I really suggest it if u dont currently. Amla, fenugreek and oil added to ones conditioner builds moisture into the hair. Thanks again for letting folks know it aint the hair type its the hair care that means the most. ❤❤
@KrissypooHairView
@KrissypooHairView Год назад
That fenugreek is the truth 😍, I’m glad that you were able to customize a regimen to change your hair for the better 😍 I get it so many times from clients saying what they think their texture is and tell them no it’s not as bad as you think. Every texture has curls, and like you said and I tell them all of the time, you have to put those juices and berries in it(moisture and hydration) and you see a major difference.

Videos with titles like this just make me want to literally damage my hair to the point where it's 4C just so I can freaking do it number one the first thing you're going to have to do is it's going to you're going to have to accept that you're going to have to manipulate your hair to get a visible bigger curl okay and the other half of the time you're just going to have to accept that that's what your natural hair looks like it doesn't have obvious curl pattern and you know it could be really thick but think about it I mean at least your hair is thick and you know beyond that you're going to have to do the same thing that all the other natural hair women have to do you're going to have to do protective styles you're going to have to moisturize you might have to moisturize you know sooner than other naturals but you know just accept what your hair is That's supposed to be the entire message of natural hair in the first place is it accept your hair in the first place so that's really the first thing you need to do everything else is what do you have time for what do you feel like doing to your hair and then do that then if you don't want to then accept what your hair looks like when you just don't want to you know you could do a braid out at the beginning of the week and then four days later touch it up with another little braid out and then wash it out at the end of the week if you want to put that energy in if you don't then don't but don't be upset though the only way how I have had for hair is like when my hair was really damaged and stuff and it's kind of damage right now so it's kind of for like and that's what I literally have to do though and if I don't want to do it then you just got accepted it's Tangled it's dry and you know
@KrissypooHairView
@KrissypooHairView Год назад
Lol imma be honest, you’re looking too deep into it. With all types of hair of all race etc. it applies the same. Also do what’s for your hair, if you don’t want to do protective styles you don’t have to. It’s just like eating. If you eat bad, you have to take the necessary steps to get back healthy, so yes it’s going to be work. But if overall you’re maintaining an okay diet the work is not hard. Hair is simple, we just have to make it a priority. If you do a deep conditioner once a month( twice a month if you shampoo often) Add a leave-in conditioner & oil to your styles (however you style your hair daily, or whenever you style your hair.) Get your hair trimmed every 3months “Be consistent and don’t slack off” That’s your simple recipe for hair health
@DFRKR
@DFRKR Год назад
@@KrissypooHairView oh your first paragraph was definitely wrong and I know that the attitude that you wrote up there was definitely a bad one everything I said was fully right you're going to have to accept that you're going to have to moisturize more you're going to have to accept certain things about your hair in order to be able to enjoy it you know you being in and all about it isn't going to help you out like I said the first thing to accept in your hair is to accepting everything about it and all the things that you have to do that's the biggest problem I've had some really damaged hair and I just had to accept that I was going to moisturize him more often that I was going to have it and protect the styles more often so that it can grow and get healthier and do what I wanted to do and it got healthier and it got better but people with four hair which I would say is more of the texture of my hair when it's damaged then I kind of know how it feels like to do for hair one it sucks you do have to moisturize it a lot and you do have to do a lot more to it but the first step to having better hair is to accept what you have to do for it I went to your first paragraph you're definitely incorrect on that one

I believe in my craft so much to say that I wouldn’t, because my main focus is not appealing to the popularity of viewers that think only inside the box or have one perspective of what hair and how hair should be. Since I started in the hair game I’ve never thought in the structured way of the hair industry. The process might not look nice but as long as the ending result/her health journey is better and she is more educated on how she should care for her hair now moving forward,thats all that matters. A lot of stylist come on social media to show a lot of the good but only view show the not so good/ building stage of a persons hair health journey, and I’m not afraid to show that, but that’s the thing, I’m staying true to myself and my outlook on it and as stated in the video. I respect your thoughts about it, every one is free to think how they want. 😍

You’re such an amazing Hair Stylist, but girl the reason why nobody wanted to do her hair is because of that Tacky mentality that she has. Like says it’s not that serious you . Honestly, you have the heart of gold because there’s no way in hell I would’ve touched her hair if she won an actual cut the problem here is that she is going to leave. The salon and people are going to look at her and be like who did her hair and if they ask her they’re gonna name that is you. Again darling your reputation is on the line and when you deal with cheap clients like this is not worth it, you are too fabulous. I hope Charise does and you could do a better video because I know you could turn it.

Thankyou 🥰, she didn’t have a big issue with her hair length, she was a very understanding client, it was mostly me giving a general statement on some clients choosing to keep a little length and it’s okay, the big plus for me is them being open to starting a trim regimen and getting it cut little by little in multiple appointments instead of not being open to the health change.
