Different scenarios, if you're burning you can still get more burned, he can't get more HIV positive. Although he can get other diseases like the video mentioned, so I guess your analogy works after all

To burn is an ailment from receiving fire damage over time so if you negate the fire damage by performing some action to reduce the duration of the fire damage you will receive less burn. To be wet is a status effect of being exposed to moisture typically stating that you are already soaked reducing further applications of the status effect does little to no good in reducing your current status.

@@papi9305 his motives are simple: he wants to save people, even against their will, he doesn't care about laws or rules. While he uses whomever is at his disposal to analyze the patient, he doesn't do it unless they stay with him as his companions, and he does this with a clear objective in mind: He only wants to work with the best, and even that filter isn't as what you would expect from a normal doctor, as he doesn't want someone who is incapable of caring. He wants the best, and that includes "caring so much about others that they would put their whole life in danger for other people", just like him. My point is: he's chaotic good.

House joked about "caffeine delivery system" because shotgunning any drink is the fastest way to drink it. House wasn't ACTUALLY crushing vicodin in that part. He was crushing up medical-grade meth to spike Wilson's food.

There's a sliding scale based on how contagious the disease is, how likely it is to kill, and how difficult it is to treat. Yes for HIV, she should have been masked & glassed, with no exposed mucous membranes.

I REALLY would've LOVED if House had been my bio-mother's Dr when her liver was failing. Her internist actually sent a mag thru her sister to me to ask exactly how much alcohol she actually drank. When I told him, he remarked how much more sense that made compared to what she had said. House is right, Dr's have to assume that ALL patients lie, which is why I don't get mad when they test what I tell them, to what my tests show over time; or what I tell them, then what comes in my records from all my other medical institutions. They're always shocked at how much is actually real.

It might not be a death sentence anymore but getting the news of you possibly having it before the tests come back negative is way more than enough for anyone to basically go to pieces inside as their brain goes into overdrive thinking about it.

@@MegaRazorback agreed, as you are crossing your fingers with your heart starting to race as you repeatedly tell yourself that you will be negative for any virus from sexual contact and then you get the news that unfortunately you caught something, it definitely shatters you inside, that you start to say that you wish you never got it but now have to get bloods taken for a certain amount of weeks/months before you get told you don't need to get any more bloods taken, then you take the necessary drugs to manage the life long virus to keep it in the manageable levels. You also have thoughts going through your head on if you'll ever have a partner who'll want to be with you even if you are on treatment or if family will still love and support you after getting the bad news

The virus can mutant and become resistant to classes of medication. So, if that happens , it can affect what meds you can and can not take.

@@Mysassafrasroots plus you gotta worry about if some HIV medication will affect your mood especially if you are known to have low moods that a doctor will have to prescribed you meds that won't effect mood but still work to lower the viral load count, some meds can dramatically lower the count significantly in a short amount of time, it just depends on what medication it is
