Yes, he was, but he did not make the most of the talent he had he lacked work ethic for me. Joe just wanted to glide through games & sometimes he would get away with that because he was in such a good Chelsea squad at that time, but when it came time to put the hard work into games Joe to often went M.I.A. He could have been a super star, like Jude Bellingham his today, but instead, he was more like Jadon Sancho is today we got a glimpse of his talent at times, but he is not a grafter both just want to glide through games you seen this after Joe left Chelsea & went to Liverpool a Liverpool team that was much worse at that time than the Chelsea team he had left he never again reached the hights because he was to happy to be a passenger in a team rather than the one to drive the team on to victory more often than not. To me, Joe Cole was a confidence player when he was on his game he was fantastic, but more often than not, he was not at his best hence he did not play more often for Chelsea. Joe Cole laked the constancy of a Frank Lampard, but he had a higher skill set just a pity he did not use they skills more often.
@@K11-s1i sure buddy, that’s why one is at the heart of a winning team, winning trophies, playing week in week out, keeping his head down, not being overlooked by his national coach, and the other has ruined his reputation and wants to be a DJ in Germany next year lmao clearly born yesterday weren’t you son, I should know, I cut the chord.
@@james7040 i said better footballer. no doubt Bellingham is doing better with his choices but sanchos more talented. jude's got no feet 🤣always falling over the ball
It was Portsmouth at home in February 2006. The strange thing is that Joe Cole was getting high ratings in the media but post match José criticised his performance for passing instead of shooting then the media then gave Joe a low rating for the same game.
Yep, I remember this, Jose said in the interview if he ever has a game for himself like that again, he's out. It wasn't too far out from the world cup aswel.
Yeah that’s in my top England goals for sure along with Beckham free kick, Gazza lobbing Hendry, Geoff Hurst roofing it and Gerrard’s chested half volley against the Hun in 2001, John Barnes dribbling round the Brazil defence and dropping the keeper. Noice
So was the goal in this clip against United who were our closest challengers, and that result secured us b2b PL's. Absolutely ruined 2 United defenders with that turn.
Mourinho was the complete wrong type of manager for Joe Cole when he left us. Joe had unbelievable natural ability, still seen very few like it to this day.
I obviously always wanted him to do well but his constant injuries and poor form frustrated the life out of me. I liked him as a player when he was in his prime.
He was past it when he signed for Liverpool. He was a "name" signing by the owners trying to get sone heat off themselves. Biggest thing He did for Liverpool was get sent off vs Arsenal in his 1st game
@@sickman112 and he's already taking shots at Roma. As unprofessional as ever, but he's not good enough for serious teams to cope with his bullshit anymore
Joe Cole was probably one of the best footballer I ever seen. Technique wise, very few are better than him. Insane first touch, crazy turn abilities, great dribbling, very good passing range, and good work rate. A hybrid between Hazard and Thiago Alcantara in my opinion.
@@justinc4924 We always do the same in England. We talk about Brazilians and cry out to have a player ourselves who can play the same way. Then when we get One, we don't appreciate it and/or try to tone them down and make them play differently.
Jose stopped it right there. So he never thinks of doing it again. Top man! Top mentality. He cant make it a habit. You never know next match it can cost you important points
One of our most under-rated players he was the Hazard of his era clearly ahead of his time mesmerising skill incredible pace and a cool customer infront of cole a proper legend for Chelsea🔵🔵🔵🔵
Always think Mourinho didn’t fall off. Player mindsets just changed. Mourinho was at his best when the players felt like they were playing for their lives. Before they were real superstars. You could talk to an Essien like this, and they wouldn’t take it to heart. Nor wanna revolt. Nowadays lol
100% the game / players moved on. It starts in academies; read the autobiographies of those players lampard / Gerrard era and they'll say about the bollocking they had, crucified for missing a pass and had to clean boots, locker rooms etc. Now players would be filing bullying complaints
What you're saying is "Mourinho excels in the role of father of a domestic abuse household" which is exactly how he runs his teams. He threatens, he creates vendettas for no reason, he turns on people, he creates shadow enemies. Horrible human being but because people can kick a football he's idolized by people who cant see the forest through the trees.
@@garybalranald6323it's actually joo-zeh. But that's close enough. Took the anglosphere over a decade to learn it's not zay so maybe one day y'all get the joo right. I'm portuguese btw
Joe Cole for West Ham was a prodigal talent, who seemed destined to go from strength to strength, then West Ham got relegated. Naturally, top clubs wanted him, including United. He had a good chat with SAF but he was a London lad and got offered a tidy sum. The thing is he wasn't suited to being a winger, lacked the physique and pace, also had to compete with Duff and Robben who had both. So opportunities were limited, however Jose formed him into a force and he got back into England consideration (as a winger). At chelsea they had Makelele, lampard and essien. powerhouses in the midfield, no room for a talented CAM such as Cole. Cole would've shone at United (as a CAM) and I dare say would've challenged the likes of Gerrard and Lampard for England midfield spot.
I agree. Even being an Inter Milan supporter. Managers like Ancelotti, can being more human and adaptable, can obtain more and even last much more. But you have to be a human being pretty much evolved
He's born for Manchester United during SAF reign. SAF would have let Cole create havoc at the opposition's defense. Whether it's playing with Rooney or Van Nistelrooy or Van Persie, Cole would have been awesome.
Mourinho conquer the Europe with Porto and that's how his raise happened and after that he managed to won at least one trophie with club he managed...never afraid of challenge
Jose’s very unfortunate that the mentality of players has changed over the course of his managerial career. Players used to be men, so his brash and confrontational attitude worked, but players have become soft and sheltered, so he’s always seen as the bad guy because he loses his dressing room as modern players can’t accept his criticism that previously worked
Just some constructive critisism; the music is very loud compared to your voice. Might just be me, but yeah :) Fire video regardless, best series on YT fr!!
What this young man was around the time he broke through at West ham he didn't seem to improve much further. He became slow with his movements and with no pace already it was death of his career.
He was right Mourinho was coaching those boys up for a World Cup Final, because let's say England or Chelsea got a international or European final you only have one chance, so it's tough love. Not criticism
Jose is a savage, i remember when he lost some match with madrid and vowed the next team he faces is gna be sorry😂 And he wasnt lying either, proper backed up the badboy talk
If Gareth goes I'd have Jose as England manager...I know that's not going to happen now but still...he should have got the job instead of Capello...the f.a should have convinced him done whatever it takes...He understands England the culture he likes us and we like him and he would handle the press easily...shame
Why is no one giving any credit to Denmark? Many of their players are playing in top leagues, they played a good game, probably should have won it to be fair.
