"You Be Careful Now" Part 1
These were the last words Leo's previous owner said to Kath as she drove away.
No one has been able to help Leo and his anxiety that has seen him difficult to handle and wrecked havoc on his body. But Kath has decided to give him a chance and has commenced rebooting his foundation. She is documenting journey and this is Part 1.
Here is before and after my approach to round penning.
This is what simple questions, canter therapy and lots of resting in between do for a horse that is stuck in a chronic stressed state like Leo.
Why?
Because he has been triggered to focus, learn, breath, utilise stress chemicals, follow the walls of the round yard in rhythmic steps, to rest and experience endorphin release that comes upon resting after exercising.
