That's excellent! I have a Pink Panther kit arriving tomorrow and I want to do something similar with it. If it turns out half as well as your diorama I'll be more than happy. I'm impressed with the sculpting of the figures too!

Thank you, it was a nice build at the time. I made it a few years ago now but remember it was fun rebuilding the chassis to articulate over the rocks, it’s an old Tamiya kit but still goes together well. Have fun. 😎👍

I remember this build from Facebook... great to see it all in sequence... so many expressions and actions beautifully choreographed.

Thank you Harry, glad you liked the build. Articulating the chassis and building the figures were fun with this one.

Love the detail on the tattoos. Is there any way you could show the whole building process sometime?

Thank you, this is one of my early videos so agree it’s lacking visual or talking commentary. I didn’t have appropriate software for that at the time. Hope it’s still useful as a visual only tutorial build. Cheers.

Phil R thanks, working for JLR I wanted to do a scene with a little humour same time show how rugged Land Rovers are over rocky terrain.

Man one of these days you should just do a tutorial on making hair alone. All these figures have so much soul and character in them it's amazing.

Thank you very kind, hair is one of the easier things to model, I tend to do by dragging and imprinting with different point tools based on images of hair to give each a different character.

Rover even has a Bagnold Sun Compass on the dash

As the scene is set in the 1970’s, WW2 technology would still be in use, if it ain’t broke why fix it. 😊👍

@@DioramaArt Bagold is still viable technology. Both of my original Special Forces GMV Ground Mobility Vehicle HMMWV have WWII style Airpath MS17983-2 Magnetic Standby Compasses installed on the Navigator's side, through the heater cover, for Dead Reckoning Navigation, in case the GPS or inertial navigation systems fail. They would even go so far as to install a second Speedometer/Tripmeter on the Navigator's side, too, to assist in Dead Reckoning Navigation. I think the 5th Special Forces, the MiddleEast and Africa being their Areas of Operation, used to teach the Bagnold compass back in the 1970s and 80's.

Nice model. Good colour! What paintmix did you use?
@DioramaArt
@DioramaArt Год назад
Sorry I missed this reply. The pink is a mix of Tamiya acrylics, using their flat red, white and buff. I can’t remember the exact ratio though. I’ve seen others use 10:1:2 using the Tamiya, that sounds about right.

Dave .Lloyd exactly, I wanted to extreme articulate the suspension of the LandRover over the rocks, but have a humorous twist to the whole scene. Thank you for getting what I tried to depict, grateful for that mate. Thanks. 😁
