Maybe not so much the first game against Fiorentina when Keane gave the ball away to Batistuta. The 2nd game however, he eventually put Batistuta in his place (both scored great goals that night!)
@@hankagura5355how is purposely trying to end someone's career being blown out of proportion. He was a great player but he's said it himself he wanted to end the guys career
@@christycullen2355 He literally never said he wanted to end his career. Please point me to the video or quote because he says the polar opposite in a video with Micah Richards called "Road to Wembley"
I can understand Keanes hatred for Fergie. You give your all for the manager for 13 years, lead the players on his behalf. The moment standards drop and Keane wanted them standards back, Fergie gave him the chop, id be pissed too. The so called "interview" that got Keane the boot, players like Fletcher, O Shea, Brown, Rooney, Rio have gone on record and said it wasnt even that bad.
He just used it an excuse to get rid of him, Fergie was a coward like that. He could never sit down with a player and tell them thanks but your time is up
Yet he went on to build another team that won Leagues and a Champions League so who who really knew the score, a cog in the wheel or the chap who built the machines?
Keane is one of the few that talks about Ferguson as he really was. He doesn't care he's one of the greatest managers of all time. He knows Fergie as a person is a tool
Keane only ever wanted respect form Ferguson but after all the years he played and massively helped United and him win leagues and Trebles. SAF couldn’t give him that respect. It’s understandable why Keane is bitter especially the way Neville and the rest idolised him.
One way to look at it. The other would be he put it all on the line for himself and his own career and winning trophies. He had no respect or love for Mick McCarthy but from 1996 to 2002 he was a titan for Ireland. Roy is self motivated. Who sits in the dugout is irrelevant
@@JS9973 Teammates being crucial. Roy never shut up about giving 100% for the team and expecting them to do the same. He's not a manager worshipper like Gary Neville. Totally different perspective
Keane does epitomize the wit of the Irish, just a few muttering of sheer gold. Roy also shares a bit of insight into the inner self, he had to get the dig in still, after so many ages.
"Sralix" The one thing he and Roy had in common was the capacity for rage, both hot and cold. It fueled both of them to be winners. But once they directed it at each other, it was over between them.
I like SAF for what he's done for the club but also Keane, i can't hate him because he was a great player for us and what a captain he was. I think it was Pique that said he scared him 😂
Asking simple obvious questions carries on the conversation, it’s done a lot in media, if Gary expands on the point and mentions something else then the conversation continues onto that
Fergie was ruthless , fact ! Keane was an absolute leader , fantastic footballer & pulled his team on lots of occasions on to Victory, Fiorentina & Juve & many other games absolute Legend for United & am not surprised he holds a grudge against Ferguson
As a basketball player, Jimmer achieved an extremely high level of success that most hoopers don't even come close to sniffing. He should definitely be proud of his basketball career.
I used to agree with Roy on Ferguson and the manner of his leaving Utd. As I've gotten older, I see it more from Ferguson's side. Business is business. He always ruled with an iron fist and made sure no player was above him or the club. That philosophy made them a trophy machine for 20 years. And when Roy got the boot, the team moved on and kept winning. As it always did when great players left during Ferguson's era. Keane forced United to break the wage barrier in the late 90s. If they hadn't, he would have walked to Milan, Madrid or Munich. He had zero loyalty to the club beyond his contractual obligation. Which is fair enough. Business is business.
the thing is keane is known as a mean guy, but even he knows that stuff like this is what made Ferguson vicious, not in a hard tough way, but in a calculating psychological one (although he could play both perfectly). probably why keane dislikes him, and is amazed that someone subjected to ferguson’s viciousness like gary had been still shows ferguson such reverence and respect
