This is one of my favourite climbing videos of all time - same level as Ondra + Midtboe lately. I don't get why you don't have like a million subscribers..
Parada! Great content as usual. One quick question though: I noticed that you're using a friction hitch plus munter hitch to belay the follower. What type of friction hitch do you use and how exactly does it work? Is this standard on Czech sandstone?
it looks quite exotic even for Czech sandstone :) neither friction hitch (prusik) nor holding the follower's weight is really advisable... maybe the terrain did not allow for better anchor-belayer positioning...
Hey Jakub, thanks for your lovely feedback. About your questions, I'm not really sandstone expert, so I'll leave this to Standa. He'll be back in the end of August, so I'm sure he'll answer your question when he's back online. Have a great day, Jakub
Hi, it is used when you have to be on an edge of cliff because you want to see a follower and don’t want to damage a soft sandstone rock. There is another Munter hitch on the top of cliff. You use it to lower yourself down. Than you secure the rope and use manchard or klemheist hitch to attach a belay device.
Hello El, this is one of the official method how to secure your partner who is climbing up to you on the tower. In addition, it preserves the soft edges of our sandstones (from scratches caused by rope). All the best, Standa
