As a bisexual person, hearing you go on a tangent in defense of bisexual people was very nice to hear.

I'm starting to think the reason Millie is more well put together then everyone else in the main cast is because she doesn’t have daddy issues.

I love the sense of continuity we get here: - Millie's mug is still broken from last episode - Loo Loo Land is under reconstruction - Blitzø bringing up the running gag of the building's walls getting f*cked up - The imp family that sees Blitzø's pornogrpahic photos is the same family we see in the background in *Loo Loo Land* - Millie saying "This ass is mine!" - she do like to peg Moxxie

This episode also shows why it took so long for Moxie to call Blitzø by his name and not "sir." He's been forced into using it for the main authority figures in his life up to this point. Also, notice how quietly Moxxie cries, even when he's full on sobbing. People who come from abusive homes tend to learn how to break down quietly, so they don't attract the abuser's attention and get into even more trouble.

Blitzø says "the babysitter will kill me if I'm late" but we know that he didn't adopt Loona until she was 17. It's absolutely killing me to imagine him hiring a babysitter for a seventeen-year-old. A small detail, but the mental image is priceless. Millie's "how I met your father" story would be hilarious if she was Loona's babysitter.

I love how Blitzø came to the realization Chazwick was hiding something because the thought of Chazwick scoring "two hotties" like Millie and Moxxie is too unbelievable.

It’s a small detail, but Millie calling her and Moxxie ‘partners’ shows that they’re more than married; they’re best friends; comrades; soul mates. Their bond is one of every kind of positive connection.

I love how after Millie heard how Chaz betrayed Moxxie, she was almost inconsolably angry, she didn't care that they dated, but the fact that he did that to HER husband? Hell no. It just shows how deeply they care about each other and honestly, Millie and Moxxie is one of my favourite couples ever.

This was a *very* intense episode. Poor Moxxie deserves a far better childhood than the cruel one fate dealt him.

I think that the fact that Crimson's tail is deformed is a reference to the fact that in past times many mafia bosses used to break their sons' bones to make them stronger. So if Crimson is a horrible father, Moxxie's grandfather was probably even worse

10:47-12:08 As a bisexual teenager who recently came out to nonsupporting parents, hearing you go on a rant about bisexuality and how it’s valid and it’s okay really made me happy. Even people who say “gay is okay” but don’t acknowledge bisexuality means they’re not a full ally. My parents acknowledge that I’m bi (well, my dad’s hoping it’s a phase), but they think it’s inappropriate to tell my younger siblings. That’s not full support either. Forcing someone to gloss over the fact that they’re bisexual means forcing them to hide a part of them. So anyways, thanks for that Elijah. (Btw- my parents keep bringing up how my bisexuality “doesn’t define my whole personality.” Like, I know it doesn’t? I keep using the analogy that I’m a girl, but being a girl isn’t my whole personality. But they keep saying I shouldn’t focus on it when I’m just excited to finally tell someone. Does anyone have any arguments or logical reasons for nonsupporting parents to explain to them being bi is valid and it’s a part of you, but it’s not your whole personality and you’re just trying to show happiness?)

Because of this episode, I realized that while Moxxi was born in Greed and not Wrath as mentioned in Harvest Moon, maybe his mother WAS a wrath imp. It would also make sense why Mox loves Millie so much. A southern baddie who is equally loving and battle-competent, just like his late mother.

This really helps show why Moxxie is so respectful to Blitzø to the point of near hero worship at times and why Blitzø's opinion of him matters so much to him. Also, we stan a Blitzø that goes snooping to protect his employees.

I actually almost cried when Millie said "you know you can tell me anything, ok?" And their mutual love and trust for one another really showed in this episode. They are truly the example of love. I relate to moxxie being too scared to speak up for himself, and I wish I had a millie in my life too.

Something that becomes only really clear on tsecond vieweing: Moxxie started idolizing Blitz(o) the second he mentioned having to get back to his daughter. To Moxxie, a father who actually cared about his child was the most amazing thing in the world and that is why he instantly gravitated towards him

It seems that each episode so far has covered in some way how each character met Blitzø. Stolas first seeing him at the circus, Loona being adopted by him, and now Moxxie sharing a cell with him. If the pattern continues, then Millie should at least get a flashback to how she met him in the next episode. I could be wrong, but that's how it looks to me.

The twisted expectations in this show are great. Millie who seems the most bloodthirsty of the bunch comes from a relatively loving home. Blitz and Stolas had neglectful fathers and they turned out to be devoted dads. And Moxxie, arguably the sweetest of the IMP team came from a violent background.

I know people have pointed out the "mob family" bit from S1 E1 but I'd like to also call attention to the fact that Moxxie's mom is from wrath not greed hence why in the blood moon festival episode, Moxxie says he's from wrath, not greed.

This episode made me understand why Moxxie had reservations about murdering a family and or why he would've been okay with killing a mob family and it makes me think that his dad might be the reason why Moxxie became an assassin to begin with, Not to become his dad but so Moxxie can take out those that are like his dad.

So early this season we learned that both Blitzø and Stolas had a REALLY messed up childhood. And in this episode we learned that Moxxie's background is somehow EVEN MORE messed up. Why do I get the feeling when we inevitably get Loona's backstory, she's going to have them ALL beat in the fucked-up childhood department?

I was so hoping that during the wedding scene that Millie would have cut Moxxie free at some point and the best boy would pull out fully packing with fire arms and the two of them go full Ballroom dance fight so we could see how in sync they are together and maybe have Millie say something along the lines of "This reminds me of our engagement!" And Moxxie going "You know you're right! Wanna get married again?"

Fun fact for Pokémon fans: In this episode, Elder Jaws (the shark priest) is voiced by Abe Goldfarb, who voiced Professor Kukui in Pokémon The Series: Sun and Moon. Edit: Another thing: People are saying that Ryan O'Flanagan (Edric Blight) voiced Chaz. This isn't true, Chaz is voiced by Eric Schwartz.

I love the contrast between Moxxie and his dad. Crim: "She's just a dame!" while Moxxie is literally swooning every time he sees what a badass Millie is!

Richard Horvitz does a dual father-son role by voicing not just Moxxie, but also his father Crimson. He must’ve gotten the idea to do that since he’s already done so in the old Cartoon Network show “The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.”

The most heartbreaking and heartwarming thing about this is that despite everything Moxxie kept something that Crimson could never take away, something he couldn't kill. Moxxie had and forever will have his mother's heart. Despite his upbringing after his dad killed her, her love for him still lived on and kept him alive and ultimately is what I believe saved him at the end of the day

The line in the pilot " I was dreaming my parents were getting murdered but now I'd like to go back to that" hits different after this episode

Yeah this episode was not what I was expecting after them taking a 4 month break from Helluva Boss, It was like the writers and Creators just came back from their vacation and then 4 months later they already mess with our emotions 😭😭😭😭

We seriously need a real Millie episode. I adore their relationship, but her entire character can be summed up as “Moxxie’s wife” and that ain’t sustainable. Hell, even the episode where we meet her parents wasn’t really about her, it was about Moxxie’s feelings of inadequacy. But all that aside. Yay! More backstory! 😂😂😂

7:26 Moxxie’s mother was from Wrath hence where Moxxie mentions that he was born in the Wrath ring in Season 1 Episode 5. But he was raised in the Greed ring.

One of the things I loved about this episode was the contrast. Chaz vs. Crim, the two antagonists of this episode, are perfect side by side. Chaz is a scumbag, a liar, a flirt; he's selfish, greedy... But if you look at his face when he left Moxxie behind, you can see a moment of doubt. When Moxxie and Millie turn him down, he doesn't *force* himself on them. He just shrugs and moves on to the next person. He's hedonistic, and likely hurts a lot of people... But next to Crim, he's a respectable guy. Crim is an absolute monster, with zero redeeming qualities. There is no remorse, there is no love, there is only selfishness and an overwhelming hatred. He's a terrible, irredeemable person... And with him beside Chaz, I'm actually almost sad Chaz died. Almost.

When Moxies dad basically said being Bi was just being gay I laughed so hard cause that’s exactly wha I was told when I came out at bi💀. We love offensive humor. Crimson won the award of worst dad in Helluva boss.

You’re right about moxie’s mom being latina. The creator said she was an imp from the wrath ring which is based off old western themes as well as South America and latino themes.

This episode was amazing and deep and hit so hard. The way they portrayed so many things; from abuse, to standing up for yourself, to how long term trauma can effect you, and more, it was all done really well in my opinion. I also love the line from Blitz "There's no way someone that bad in bed could score two hotties" as that shows that he actually does see Moxxie as attractive. Another big thing this episode does, is it shows the difference between the way Blitz treats Moxxie which can come off as cruel and mean and abusive, vs the way Crimson treated Moxxie. In my eyes at least, this episode helped to show that even though Blitz can be an ass to Moxxie, that Moxxie still recognizes that he cares about him unlike the way his father treated him when he was growing up.

In my opinion, Moxxie's speech to his dad is one of Horvitz's best performances.

I love how people got shocked at how Crimson slapped Moxxie and not when millie brutally kills half of hell

That scene with one of the shoes of Moxxie’s mother floating in the water literally made my blood run cold the first time I saw it. Even in subsequent viewings, that particular scene just gives me chills. It’s a poster child example of why “show not tell” is such a powerful thing in story telling. The show was able to convey indisputably that Crimson fucking killed her, and it didn’t even need to be explicitly stated by any of the characters for viewers to realize right away what had happened to her. And somehow, that’s even more chilling than someone outright saying that they’ve been murdered.

When I watch this episode, I noticed that the shark demons have the same type of eyes Striker has (from S1 E5) which made me think that he's probably an imp/shark demon hybrid. Also, I like how this season is showing the backstory of the main cast. The first episode of this season showed how Stolas and Blitz met as kids plus the full story of how Blitz stolen his grimoire. The second showed how Blitz first met Loona when he was looking for a hellhound to adopt. And we now see Moxie's childhood and his relationship with Chaz (plus how Moxie and Blitz first met). I'm gonna predict the next episode will show some backstory involving Millie either something about her past or how she first met and fell in love with Moxie or both.

Yup, the different Rings of Hell have their own "flavor" of Imp. Moxie is from the Greed Ring, and Millie is from the Wrath Ring. Moxie's mom is also from the Wrath Ring, so she had a bit of southern belle flair to her design.

I saw a theory about Moxxie's wedding dress,Moxxie usually uses girls clothes when he's in disguise right?what if when he was little he already did like to wear stuffs like that and his mom didn't mind,even letting him dress with her wedding dress becoming a precious memory,but then in the present hid dad forced him to use her wedding dress to marry Chaz destroying that memory😢?

I’ve been waiting for this video to come out! Objectively, I think this episode is the best of Helluva Boss so far. The series keeps getting better, and we’re getting to know the characters so well! There’s only been a small amount of episodes so far (compared to shows like Miraculous or Amphibia) but every part has been so good!

I love it because it's going around other stereotype about "Old flame". In many production, when EX appearing, the spouse would act jealous for any act of flattering or kindness. In "Helluva Boss" there was no jealous act, or trust issues about partner's faithfulness. Both- Millie and Moxxie- despised and didn't want to deal with Chaz and didn't forget why he became each one EX

It was so hard to take Chaz seriously when all I could hear was Edric from the Owl House. I did love how they incorporated Moxie’s inability to kill the family in the first episode, probably due to his own trauma from his own family and made connections to his actions throughout the series.

Blitzø has been wanting a three way with M&M for a while now. While he didn't do them at the same time, Blitzø wasn't happy to learn someone has beat him to sleeping with both of them.

I wonder if Moxxie witnessed torture while in the mafia. He knew a lot about torture methods in episode 6 and seemed generally unbothered by being captured and was only really worried about Millie. Hmm…

Chaz's voice actor is the same as Edric's from The Owl House. : ) Also, still saying you should totally check out Vox Machina! I think you'd love that show. It also has some good representation in it.

Some Info on the Imp species: - they come from wrath but spread all over hell - Moxxie comes from greed and therefor looks like the imps there (small, reptilian shaped head, more hard bend horns) - Millie comes from Wrath and obviously looks like the Imps from there (small, round head, simple straight horns) - we don't know were Blitzø comes from but he is very tall and has gigantic horns that if we look at his father will probably keep growing, maybe he is from pride. we only know he is not from wrath - imps from lust have wings like succubus/incubus and are relatively humanoid - also they have black blood wich is a nice touch I think since they also have black gums also I think it's so crazy how Crimson (Moxxies dad in case you didn't got his name) keeps the horns of the Imps, the jaws of the sharks and wings and tails from another species he kills like trophies. this is like if our mobsters would keep the skulls of the people they kill. you can even see that Moxxie most likely had an Imp-horn-trophy before he left from the guy he killed in the flashback, since his horns were sawed of and I don't think that Crimson would keep them if Moxxie was the one who killed the guy. He would be like "good job boy you collected your first set of Horns, and I'm sure over time your collection will grow."

This sepisode had everything. From Moxxie,s Family to his past relationship to his meeting with Blitz and especially his and Millies relationship. Beautifully written episode. It even misses Luna and still did its thing.

Honestly because Crimson is still alive and has rage towards Moxxie now at the end, if they ever do like a big finale that showcases all villains or jerks shown so far, then I'm sure the lineup could so far be: Striker, Stella, and Crimson. I didn't count Fizzarolli because of something I'm not explaining in case anyone hasn't seen what I seen, and Verosika because despite what happened in the episode with the reveal of Loona's human disguise, truth serum episode, and Ozzie's, she wasn't gonna like kill him she's just still very upset at him.

Millie and Moxxie are the best and no one, not even the mafia, can stop them. That scene where Millie just whipes out all the sharks is so amaizing. Again, the animation rocks in this episode and the music was on point. That backstory with Moxxie`s mother leaved me completely shocked, seriously. I hadn`t any idea, that Moxxie is such a tragic character but thank god now he`s sorrounded by the people, who really love him. And Blitz is as jealous as always. I`m enjoying his lines and acts with the others so much, it`s hilarious. But PLEASE: take a look at the music videos. They are so awesome to listen and kind of dramatic as well. Trust me, you won`t regred it. I put a list of them in one of your previous reactions and they are in an order, in which they are pretty comfortable to watch in my oppinion. You`re gonna love them.

I like that Blitzo is just canonically bald. Male Imps have horns with thicker white and their hair is white while the female Imps have more black on their horns and black hair--it's how you can tell Millie's sister is a trans woman, she's got thicker white in her horns and white regrowth in her black hair (something they took from Millie's original design), then there's Imps like Blitzo who are bald with a marking on their forehead--Fizzarolli has it, as do his sister and his mother from what you can see in the photo of them, it's just under her hair--designs in this show are interesting.

I'm glad we got to see Moxxie's backstory, but damn, really broke my heart. Crimson is without a doubt the most despicable character in the show's universe, yes, even worse than Valentino from Hazbin Hotel's "Addict" music video. Chaz really sucks too. I'm so happy Moxxie has Millie by his side because he deserves so much better than what he had for most of his life. Also, first Paimon and Cash Buckzo, and now Crimson. Why does everyone in this show have such a terrible father? Aside from Loona and Octavia, that is. Their dads are trying because they don't want to make the same mistakes. I'm enjoying the interesting ways this theme is being used, but it's starting to concern me a bit. Can anyone confirm whether or not Vivziepop is projecting?

That's so ironic, a buddy of mine said before I saw the episode that I'm going to love it because it has gay in it. I'm bisexual btw. so I watch the episode and I felt just like Moxxie. I've had the drama of my coming out with my family before and I cried just because it brought that back to my mind. Worst of all, my buddy actually thought I liked the very things about it that the episode criticizes about the idea of bisexuals and gays. He didn't understand the irony and double standards at all, he's one of my closest friends and he's autistic, so I don't blame him that much, but he really never hurt me as much as he did with his assumption, because his idea of bi or gay doesn't seem to matter so much different than Moxxie's father's seems to be. Of course, that's the only thing they have in common.

I absolutely love this show and everything that it brings to the table but it’s absolutely heartbreaking to see what Moxxie’s life was like before he met Millie and Blitz. But it’s also incredible how Moxxie turned his life around for the better and Moxxie’s dad can go suck a cactus and choke on it. 🌵

My Grandma, who was a lesbian, always said she didn't like bisexuals because she didn't want to "compete" with the whole world. That she felt a bisexual could never be satisfied with just a man or woman, this despite my other grandma and her partner being Bisexual. She was a weirdly backwards person, also for some reason didn't think gay people should get married because as she put it "lesbians would double if not triple the divorce rate". And again she was a lesbian.
