At 13:33, for those who don't understand, a "beard" in this context is a term that was used in the past (,I'm not sure if it's a term still commonly used today,) to describe either a woman or man who is in a fake relationship with someone who was gay. So Crimson is basically calling Millie a fake cover wife for Moxxie.
Oh, and this episode puts episode 1 of season 1 in a new light, Moxxie not wanting to kill the mother of a family, and Moxxie mentioning that he wouldn't have trouble with "maybe a shitty dad, or a mob family."
15:47 Assuming this flashback indicates that Moxxie at least saw his mother’s shoe surface…I feel like it gives a lot of context for why he hesitated to kill Martha (the mom from the Murder Family) in the first episode. Or why at the end of the episode, he refused to kill the dad and the kids, when he saw a father figure who actually LOVED his kids. Poor guy lost a stable family when he was a kid. 😢
i mean "lost" implies it was something he had dont get me wrong he had a loving mother and that was wonderful but his family was never stable, what he DID lose was his mother and thats a tragedy
@@jamesputterlik225 look at the horn design compared to Millie's horns, Male and Female have different patterns, big black and white stripes for Male, Females have black horns with white lines. you also see that in the photo she has mostly black horns, which only verifies that theory is wrong.
interesting fact, apparently crossbreeding exists between hellborn demons. A lot of the shark demons we see in this episode have been stated to be hybrids of said shark demon, and either imps, succubi or "possessors". We currently have no clue what a possessor is. EDIT: We can also see a number of "trophies" from dead hellborn demons on crimsons walls. Imp horns for imps, Shark teeth for the shark demons, Succubi wings + their tails for succubi/incubi, Hellhound collars, Large horns and candles that represent Baphomets, a goat demon type we only seen in ozzie's so far, and a currently unknown skull with imp-like horns on it.
Fun fact: According to Vivienne Medrano, they tried to make the design of Moxxie's mom as Wrath/country-style as possible because she was born in the Wrath Ring. Her clothing is obviously influenced by Latin-American Baroque style, her dress including elements of the baiana and pollera. Judging that her design is intended to be very Wrath-like, his may infer a similarity between Latin-American aesthetics and Wrath aesthetics in the HB universe. According to Medrano, Moxxie values his mother's side of his heritage far more than his dad's.
it is a fun detail and it avoids retconning the harvest moon festival episode where both Blitz and Moxxie bention Moxxie being from Wrath though it still retcons it a bit since Moxxie specifically says he was born in Wrath EDIT nevermind i checked he was indeed born in Wrath and raised in Greed though it still contradicts Blitz saying he was from there
I love how everyone tells "Yes, you would" in the moment, when Blitz tells Chaz that he would never violate friends trust. UPD. No, I'm serious. I saw many reactions on that episode. Everyone (literally) were saying "Yes, you would".
I have watched more than twelve different reactions to this episode. The one thing everyone has in common is that NOBODY, ABSOLUTELY NOBODY, has faith that Blitzo won’t fuck the ex. Brings me joy 😊😊😊😊
Absolutely love how they balance dark humor with some serious moments sprinkled in. Also, really looking forward to her reactions to the Cell abridged part of dbza!
Millie is true partner goals! As bad as I feel for Moxxie's trauma, I got genuine chills when he finally stood up to his dad. Even though the bluff didn't work out well, it was so cathartic to see him be so brave
As a way to cope, i like to think Moxxie's mom survived, due to her kindness, maybe some sharks went to her side and saved her after she got thrown overboard
But sadly, in a cast watch party on Viv's channel, she said she was not afraid to kill off a character, sooo..the chance is little to none that Mox's mom survived
Fun Fact: The Human Jaws are strong enough to Theoretically rip out another Human's windpipe. It's safe to assume an Imp could do the same to a Shark-demon.
A human is also strong enough to bite a finger clean off (with bone and everything). The only thing that’s stopping them is the safety factor in the brain. Though, I’m not sure if the bite-the-finger-off fact has anything to do with imps and demons in general.
An absolutely phenomenal episode! I love how they were able to go so dark and depressing at some moments, especially with Moxxie's backstory and the fate of his mother, while still having lighter moments like Chaz's flirtatious advances and the sheer amount of sex toys Crim installs into his home. In other news, Hazbin Hotel just finished production on its first season, so I am excited to finally see more of Charlie, Angel, Alastor, and the rest!
Meh, I wouldn't get my hopes up. I wouldn't be surprised if everything had changed, things are toned down a LOT, and that it has no connections or continuity with Helluva Boss. The creator sold her soul to a studio, and has no legal rights to anything they do.
Would we even be able to see it? I don’t think they’ll release it on RU-vid right, i don’t know where it’ll be released but I’m not buying any subscriptions.
@@Jirodyne yeah I wouldn’t be surprised either. We already know they’ve changed the character designs. I’m sure that’s the least of the changes. We’ll probably find out the show isn’t even really about what the pilot was anymore and all the things that made us love it is probably gone.
Well Crimson definitely has taken over first spot for "Worst Dad in Hell!" About the closest to positive I can give him is that he didn't have Moxxie kill his mom...just some other imp...and in all honesty, If he hadn't killed her earlier, he may well have made Moxxie do it.
wish it was more M&M working together at the end. we have already seen how good Millie is and have seen her save Moxie. Also I wanted Moxie to show his dad how good he had gotten.
Moxxie will show him how good he has gotten in a future episode. They will probably do a one on one fight as father and son and Moxxie will have to kill him. That will show Crimson that his son got to be a real killer and ends up killing him
I love kirbys reaction to the sex toys so much it's so funny also crimson learned he should either employ wrath ring imps or just not mess with them cuz wrath imps will fuck your shit up
I take it to be that Millie would like to kill them all but wouldn't without checking with Moxxie first. And if Moxxie wanted his father killed, he could have done something more drastic than going no-contact. Millie isn't just trying to take care of Moxxie's personal safety, but his emotional wellbeing as well.
14:23 His dad was upset here with his mother because she cut his food for him. The foot touch thing is something abusers do as intimidation, it's a threat.
yeah im,..... not finding any information that supports this claim, it looked more like he was trying to flirt/be intimate with her but with his profession and him trying to get their son into the family business she just wasnt interested.
@@jamesvega6813 She cuts Moxxie's food for him at the time stamp provided, and the father looks upset from it, and he taps her foot as a way of communicating he's angry at her, and she pulls away like she understands he's threatening her. If you went through that kind of abuse, you'd understand. That wasn't flirting.
@@VirtueCry no, him stamping his foot down after she pulled away that's more of the threat... Him just sliding his foot to hers wasn't the issue cuz that was just his way of trying to get attention from her but she just flat-out rejected... It's not necessarily about what abuses do. What probably would have been a bigger thing to support your claim was that if he kept on trying... But even then we already fucking know he's not a good person he's of the fucking Mafia. Like did you even thing it's not about him being abusive and just the simple fact that he's a really bad man in general and she doesn't want to be any part of it but she stays and tries to make the best out of it because she loves her son. XP
@@VirtueCry It's quite clear he tries to get her attention, might be flirting, or might be like a "hey, stop spoiling him", she pulled her foot away as a no to that, and he stomped because he got mad that she didn't respond the way he wanted to. If the pull away was her understanding, then there's no reason for him to stomp afterwards...
Ohh...now I get why Crim's henchmen are sharks....because...loan sharks? Loan sharks are sometimes part of a group, or maybe even notoriously from a criminal group like a Yakuza
@@ishuikamakura272 Also blood in the water type stuff, and ruthless, apex predators etc. Sharks fit in so many ways. And funny thing is, Striker is at least part shark (same ringed eyes)
No, this wasn't Millie releasing to 0. My headcanon is that she's constantly at Restraint Level 100, and we've seen her break up to Level 80, but this was her letting go to about Level 60.
this episode had some themes that hit home a little bit and with being an extremely empathetic person, i got really into the episode and was over analyzing lol
Blitzo in that jail scene with Moxxie said he needed to get home to his daughter because of the babysitter. Blitzo adopted Loona when she was SEVENTEEN.
@@rogueshark23 And gives more reason to why Loona called Millie an old lady in the Truth Seekers episode, as you would probably see your babysitter as much older no matter the actual agegap (also her being married).
Hey did you know the new Helluva Boss is out? I’d get watching. Ok. Got some analysis for you. So Greed is the same ring as Lulu Land we first met Vizarolli at in episode 2. We get outside the theme park and you got yourself every kind of corporate scumbaggery practice in the background. Mafia, 1930’s factory practice, and more. Looks like Moxxie’s family focuses on literal loan shark business. And Moxxie has made MANY references to mob talk throughout the series. And I do find it weird that this is where Moxxie is from because he said he was from Wrath in the episode we meet Millie’s family. But I guess he ran to Wrath after leaving prison. Also side note, apparently Hell has a functional police and prison system. Even though the mafia ordinarily has both under their thumb so I guess that’s also fair. I keep gearing myself up for whatever horrible stuff we see in hell because…it’s HELL. But I’m often surprised by how wholesome it is despite it being the playground for the literal damned. I…wasn’t that fond of Chaz as a side villain. I just don’t get the kind of lust. (Which I’m surprised he’s a greed shark and not from Lust.) I love how he’s always talking about his junk in his trunk and I just LAUGHED because I happened to notice his proportions. Genetics were not kind there. But that’s what made it funny. Also I will say this, I thought someone THAT desperate would be better at being convincing, but then you remember King Asmodeus and he’s got NOTHING on the literal King of Lust. Which…definitely tracks. I also was entertained that it was DEFINITELY Chaz’s idea for the decorations. And the nods of approval from the goons. Just to dispel any fear, Moxxie didn’t drown his mother. That was a male imp based on the horns. His dad doesn’t MESS AROUND though. Moxxie ACTUALLY thought he could tear him and Millie apart because of his past. And of course we got Millie. Uhhhhh remember when she just went APE on the giant fish creature in the Verosika episode? She just goes OFF. That was a whole Mafia crew and believe me based on organized crime history pulling off what Millie did was something our COUNTRY couldn’t figure out for more than a DECADE. But the IMP crew are all just MONSTERS of their kind. Probably how they find themselves in better position than most imps. I LOVED her fight scene. And the perfect ending and just screaming at Crimson and Chaz. More what she said but you get the idea. GREAT episode. Maybe not as funny but it DEFINITELY nailed the emotions well this one. Still funny. 8/10 for me.
They say don’t bring a knife to a gun fight. What they don’t tell you to do though, is to not bring a gun to a Millie fight. I suppose you just wouldn’t wanna fight Millie to begin with.
There were a bunch of references which make the previous episodes follow a red line. But fun facts first! Crimson said he doesnt give a damn about his beard, its a slang in the 40s about someone faking marriage with the other sex while they are into the same sex. Some scenes are all basic copies of the Shrek movies, also blitzø saying "we're doing a shrek" is a line that has been used in there S1 episode 1, moxxie wanting to kill a shittu dad or mob family. S1 episode 3, moxxie being Bi were the first hints in there. There was an episode of him dreaming his father getting murdered, i believe s1 episode 4? Not sure. S1 episode 5, him talking he was born in Wrath, but his family moved to greed. And we can keep going on. This episode is by far top 3 for me. And not just for the Millie slaughterhouse.
Just for some clarification, Crimson (who I recently realized that his nickname, Crim, references crime) probably didn't have Moxxie kill his mom, because the body type and horns are different. But yeah she probably aint coming back. Or we have a Zuko's mom situation, who knows?
I think it’s probably going to be a Zuko’s mom situation. I doubt she’s dead since all we have to go on is the shoe which we have no real clarification is hers, only Moxie’s flashback to the event and since it was after her disappearance he probably thinks it was hers. I’d go with the classic rule of if there’s no body shown then the person in question isn’t dead
Moxxie's dad has a gold tooth. Could he have been owned in his past I wonder. Referring to the theory with Striker and Angel having a gold tooth as a form of branding.
For all the badassery that millie shows, you still think to highly of her. she is a ClassCannon. extremely strong but can be taken out quickly by a chair she didnt see coming (or a bottle, see episode 1. or a hard smack to the wall, see striker episode) without the 2 second distraction that blitz provided she would have been killed there. Granted she would have taken a lot of them with her, but its proven that she isnt invincible, just extremely strong (and in all honest, that she is not some super invincible "i can beat everything" woman but still a realistic character is what i like most of her.) So i would still worry if crimson finds some competent killers to got after M&M
I have a personal head Cannon that this is building up to a team up between Crimson, Stella, and Stryker. Stryker has already beaten both Moxxie and Millie and stalemated Blitzo. He's also already on Stella's payroll and has access to Angelic weaponry strong enough to kill demon royalty. Crimson could easily provide disposable cannon fodder from the ranks of his Mafia while Stella sits in the background providing money and resources. They're also a couple other wild cards to consider like three little cherubs who have a grudge against Imp specifically forgetting them kicked out of heaven. The government goons on Earth potentially making it difficult for them to get to the human world safely. the IMP offices smack dab in the pride ring which is where all of the human sinners are trapped. There's a chance that the family that they killed in season 1 might also get in on the action in demonized forms and since they are sinners they can't be killed by normal means unless they are killed by Angelic weaponry, which is the entire reason hell is overcrowded and that Purge happens every year set up in hazbin Hotel
@@briandurio6479 my guess is that one day all the enemies of IMP (maybe even including the demon hunters from earth) will all attack them at the same time but not as alliance ,only on there own and for that reason getting in the way of each other. (i can totally see the cherubs and the demon hunters shooting the wrong demons in a battle)
I don’t think imps know how lucky they are to have fully controllable tails. Or am I lucky to not have an extra appendage to deal with? I think I might take the tail.
That slow turn of Crimson's Head when he learns that Chazz cross'd him is both intimitating and hilarious. (I dont think that Crimson is a Phobic. He did'nt seem disgusted, or hateful towards the concept. Oblivious and simply not caring, if anything. All of his dislikes were directed at Moxxie.)
there is a chance he isn’t a phobic, but at the same time, crimson was willing to go to all lengths to try and get his son into this arranged marriage. i feel like he presents himself as more of a narcissist, someone who will attempt to use your own strengths to get you on their side for their own benefit, and then will turn on you once they have what they wanted in the first place
