Buck doesn't just want Eddie's attention, he wants to take it away from someone else because he's jealous 😌 God, when he finally realizes he wanted Eddie's attention.... Probably one of two things: 1. They're afraid of backlash from homophobic viewers. 2. One or both actors aren't comfortable doing male/male intimacy on screen. I know they've said they would be game for Buddie, or at least Oliver has. But what they say in interviews or tweets is not necessarily representative of their true feelings, they don't want to seem dismissive of the ship and piss off Buddie fans. I imagine if Tim Minear (the EP) considered making Buddie canon, he talked to both Oliver and Ryan to see how they would feel about it and maybe they've expressed some reservations.

@@anycampoblanco9511 I do agree that actors need to be professional and play the role they're given (within reason of course). Still, I can see why the creative team of a show would want to make sure two actors, regardless of gender, are comfortable acting out intimate scenes together before pairing off their characters. Otherwise they could end up with romantic scenes that are awkward and unnatural. In this regard, I think, for example, of Kerr Smith who played Jack McPhee on Dawson's Creek, one of the first major gay characters on American TV. Most of the time his acting was pretty good, but whenever he had to kiss a guy it looked like he'd rather be anywhere else. And that's shitty, we deserve same-sex love stories played by actors who give it their all. I do, very much, want to see Buddie happen. But if the reason it won't is that Oliver and/or Ryan aren't on board with the physical affection aspect of it, I can't really criticize that decision. (And it doesn't make them homophobic, I hate when fans suggest that.) If you're gonna do that storyline it can't be half-assed, everyone needs to be fully committed.

Cor respecto a lo que escribiste, eso ya depende de los actores, y si fuera así, la serie no se hubiera estado prestando para hacer queer baiting, porque los mismos actores sabrían lo que se les vendría (Buddie). Lo que yo creo, es que para la temporada final ya los harán canon. Recordemos que crearon 911 Lone Star con personajes variados/inclusivos. Por la presión de los Buddie shippers, crearon el Tarlos. Ahora, uno de los directores habían dicho que con todas las pistas que habían dejado, se preguntaba porqué los fans seguían dudando de que Buck no es bisexual. Por ultimo, ellos tres ya parecen una familia 😊

to be fair not all relationships happen at once. In Eddie and Buck's case, neither character was ready for a serious relationship until the end of season 4. I'd rather they take their time to build their relationship as well as themselves well before the posibility of them getting together is on the table
