Just wanted to say what a huge influence you’ve been in my life. I’ve listened to Say Anything since high school. 30 now. Currently going through protracted benzo withdrawal the past year and a half and it’s honestly the worst/toughest time in my life. Literally hell on earth. Your music still helps me through the darkest days. Stay strong and keep your head up Max!

I may be one of your younger fans (23) but i've been to many say anything shows and plan to go to many more, each time you are in Ohio. Hello Max! I just want to say that you saved my big brother's life and he absolutely adores your music. Seeing your newer video sparked so much emotion from him that I couldn't help but want to do something for him. I don't know if you read these comments but if you could just share some encouraging words towards my brother Nick (he's 28) he would absolutely lose his mind and help him through his hardships he is experiencing right now. I found you way too late in my life Max, but I’m so glad I did anyway. You inspire the shit out of me. I am an aspiring musician/songwriter that seems to have trouble popping the cork a bit, but I latched onto your very honest and perceptive style immediately. I appreciate all you do, and I thank you so much for offering yourself up and sharing your experience in every way that you do. Maybe some day I can get into a workshop if it ever comes available to me 😄 PS I’m stunned how perceptive you are of how your music interacts and identifies with us, your pleb fans 😂.. One of my sort of idolatrous inspirations in music is the exact opposite, which kind of let me down, and to see you just be humble and open without just saying you are is incredible. I hope that doesn’t come off dickish or weird, but I just think you are awesome as fuck.
Max is and has been very good about talking to fans after shows, I've had the opportunity twice and frankly he squashes that starstruck feeling some ppl get by being so... you.. if that makes sense. So anyway I think that's why he's so informed about how we see the music.
