102nd floor is completely different than 70's and 80's. Called my relatives from 102nd floor payphone during a thunderstorm, they thought I was calling from a bowling alley.

When I went the first time in 2008 I paid to skip the line because I only had 24 hours in NY and no time to waste waiting in lines. I don't even remember how much I paid; I do remember is it was worth every penny!! The 2nd time I went was in 2017; about 8:00 pm on New Year's Eve with my oldest son. No line. No crowds. It was excellent!

The first time I was in NYC, I was a Honduran tourist in June 1986, the number one place I wanted to visit was the Empire State Building, that year was the centennial celebration for the Statue of Liberty. so there were massive crows everywhere, when I tried to get inside the building the line was like 3 blocks long, so instead I decided to go to Times Square and 5th Avenue. when I came back after walking all day long, there where no lines to get in, so I went in and up, this was around 8 o'clock in the evening, I got to see NY during the day and during the night. My dream came thru. if you wonder how much did it cost to get in in 1986, It was $7.00, but I would gladly pay the $78 to go back. Thank you so much for sharing this video, it has good quality, well explained and awesome!

Greetings ActionKid, Last time I visited the Empire State Building was probably 40 years ago. I cannot praise the new 21st century upgrade to the public areas of the building more. Simply outstanding! Thanks for the spectacular views and complete tour the America's greatest skyscraper. The ticket price was astonishing, but all things considered, you surely got your money's worth. Wish I was there to see it myself.

I was there the same day and i saw you filming at the top of the empire state building ! God damn the world is so small. I was watching every single live before arriving at JFK last week to spend 5 days with my friend. Incredible city, incredible weather these days. Just an amazing journey that i will never forget !

I've been to the Top of The Rock, the Freedom Tower and best of all for me was the Empire State Building. Good thing I had my Binoculars because I could see right into the Bronx farther than the Coin operated Binoculars. Thank you!

They have really worked on their presentation since I was there in 2011. There wasn't any of that stuff, just a lobby and an escalator up to the second floor security check and then straight up to the 86th floor. The whole place was a construction site with signs apologising for the work that was going on, I guess this is what they were working on. They need to work on their prices though, that seems a bit excessive, imagine if you were taking a family up. If I was to go back, I wouldn't pay the extra for the 102nd floor as I didn't feel the view was really that much different, and the reflection of the glass kind of spoiled the photos I got from there.

A lot of cool updates since I visited the EBS. They must of redone the 102 floor completely. The 102 really has the best views. Probably not as cool as the WTC 2 when you could go out on the roof.

I went to New York with my family years ago. I don’t think we paid $70 just to go up to the observatory! We only went to the 86th floor. Very crowded, though the view was great and there was a nice cool breeze up there. The elevator we took only went to the 80th floor and we had to go up flights of stairs for the last 6 floors. We saw a door with a name on it (I think it was an architect’s office) and I remember thinking, having your office on the 80th floor of the Empire State Building, how cool is that? I have also read, I think, that New York natives never go to the Empire State Building because it’s so touristy.

No longer referred to as the freedom tower. It's 1 world trade Center. (As you indicated). Freedom Fries are once again simply French Fries. The marketing BS is long gone.
