Thank you for taking me through my old neighborhood. I moved away to look after my Mom and be near family almost 2 years ago. I miss my home more and more each day. So nice to see the City so clean and coming back to life! I was fortunate to have lived in the UES for 38 years! Thank you!

I'd rather be where you're at. I watch another guy from the UK who walks through London and other parts of the UK. People there seem less afraid to live life with or without a mask. Here in the states you got Karens and Kens all over the place shaming you to wear a mask, even when you're outside practicing social distancing. The virus has become politicized, and if you're seen not wearing your mask at any moment, you're likely to be called a right wing Trump supporter who wants to kill your grandma. The US is never going to be the same anymore. I hope the division in the UK is not as advanced as it is here.✌🏽 Peace

I know this neighborhood well. On the corner diagonal from Best Buy was the best pizza parlor in the world. I got pizza there for decades. It changed names to 'Europa', but the pizza was the same. Looks like it's gone now. There's Mimi's pizza on 84th st and Lexington. That was the Beatles favorite pizza place. There's a Dunkin Donuts between 86th and 85th. I love Dunkin Donuts lemon donuts, but not all DD's carry the lemon donuts but this one does. There is an OK bar between 86th and 85th. It's a good pit stop. It's also where I'll meet someone. I took the subway from Queens, my daughter took the subway from Brooklyn, I got to town early, we met at the bar, had a drink then went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Across from Best Buy was a place where you could get an 'Orange Julius'. I don't even know what an Orange Julius is, but for 50 years there it was. A guy described Orange Julius like this, 'Ever take a wizz and it's cloudy? That's what Orange Julius looks like.' I just looked it up... is an American chain of fruit drink beverage stores. It has been in business since the late 1920s and is noted for a particular drink, also called an Orange Julius. The beverage is a mixture of ice, orange juice, sweetener, milk, powdered egg whites and vanilla flavoring, similar to a morir soñando or orange Creamsicle I walked past Orange Julius forever, for nearly 50 years, and now for the first time in my life I'm curios to try one. If I remember right there is a movie theater right there too. It's a multiplex now, but when Star Wars came out it was still a single huge screen theater, so I went to see Star Wars there, sat in the balcony. In the balcony guys were wandering around hawking joints. Yeah man, could still smoke in a movie theater in the balcony, the weed thing was new though. I can't remember if I took part in the weed. I was going to college back then so I probably did. In the 1980's, me and my homey, we were living out in Eastern Long Island at the time in a huge half wrecked country house, when we decided to rock out in NYC on a Memorial Day Weekend. All the city people would go to Long Island for the holiday so we did the opposite. Stevie Ray Vaughan was playing somewhere in the city, but he was sold out. Instead we saw Lonnie Mack play at the Lone Star, got fucked up at CBGB's, then camped out in my big old luxury car on 87th street just off Lexington. It was a safe hood, my friend slept in the back seat, I slept on the front bench seat with the driver's curb side door kicked open. I played guitar then, and always had a guitar with me. I woke up, beautiful sun shiny Sunday morning, sat up, and my buddy was up already, picking guitar on a stoop while talking to a homeless guy he bought a coffee for, and he had a large coffee ready for me. He had drank his coffee already and was having a beer. The party was just warming up. Went to see Leslie West that night, at the Ritz I believe. Man was Leslie powerful on the guitar. You should have heard his version of Hendrix's 'Red House', it was devastating. Finished the party hearty holiday with 5 am breakfast at Juniors on Flatbush ave in Brooklyn. I got the Virginia ham sandwich with home-fries. I couldn't believe it, they give me 2 nice size sandwiches on rolls. Check this out... Stevie Ray Vaughan was friends with Lonnie Mack, and he went to the Lone Star the night I was there. He didn't play with Lonnie. But damn it was cool to be hanging in the same club as my hero. I did a lot of partying like that, sleeping in my car. I called it 'taking a budget vacation', and what I saved on hotel rooms I spent on beer and live music. I took my last budget vacation to Maine and New Hampshire in July 2015. I had a van at the time, that made it more of a luxury budget vacation, slept on an inflatable mattress. I learned about sleeping in Walmart parking lots. A good trick I learned is peeing in a widemouthed plastic quart size Gatorade container. Can even do it while driving. I was so stuck in traffic once, had to pee so bad I filled the container. It was bumper to bumper; I didn't want to dump it out the window and splash it on another car, so I set it on the floor. I had lost the cap. The piss wound getting spilled in my car. The hard lesson was 'Don't lose the cap'. A girlfriend once decided to clean my car. She didn't tell me, just did it. She was laughing at me when I went to the dumpster to try and retrieve my piss jug. The best way to piss jug is pull off somewhere and fake believe you're making a cellphone call. I watch these ActionKid videos and have flashback memories of my times in NYC. This is the third time I left a long NYC adventure story at his videos. Too bad there wasn't easy to get video recording equipment and RU-vid in my party days. I could have posted my debauchery, even make a best of vomiting in the gutter video. Long live Action Kid. I love these videos!

I know the neighborhood. The 30 story building you mentioned at 30:50 is famous. It is on the north side of 85th, just east of Third Avenue. You can see it in the opening credits of the 1970s TV show "The Jeffersons", a great comedy.

My mother lives on 91st and 1st ave and when I'm out there I walk all around UES. The guess was friendly but I was hoping he was more like Rich Mancuso telling stories from the past but he's only been there at that time six years so it make sense he doesn't have a real history of the area. They actually was looking at the building from the TV Show the Jefferson but he had no idea. When I'm there I usually always walk too see that building and 900 Park Place which is another TV show Different Stroke but overall it was informative and I learn some new eateries and cool spot to hangout next time I'm there.

Now you reminded me I remember him from his live stream. Glad you are now "interviewing" other New Yorkers. but 10:20 was a little too close encounter between two unmasked people hahaha, better be aware of asymptomatic transmissions. Those food carts near the end, mobile food licenses are prioritized for veterans so if you aren't a vet you will never have a shot. So what happens is that vets who got the license but don't want to work in their own cart would rent their license and show up at the cart once in a while to prove that they work there. Last time I heard the rate was about 4000 per month. It was a lot like renting a store location.

Hope you can get to the MET to film it's 150th anniversary and then treat yourself with a video review of a meal at the Pig Heaven. That would be another AK work of Art. :)
