Since the posting of this video....cars 9307 and 9308 have had their original 1963 Bluebird colors recreated....and 9310 has had a new Redbird paint job applied....and all 3 cars are now part of the N.Y. Transit Museum fleet

Everyone don't worry we still have r62a r62 r40 r68a r46/2 and the train of many color that only come in festival but the rest run still so enjoy them now cause in the future they will all be gone

well it looks like 3 out of 4 were lucky to be preserved, i know i may be SUPER late but im just sayin 9307 was repainted into the 1964 world's fair scheme (50%) as it recieved its old rollsigns back and with the stinky garbage smell from the inside removed, and after it was last used for the Summer 2017 ToMC in its current (retired) scheme, it was last seen in the september 2019 parade of trains 9310 got the same treatment as 9307 but different, it was given an upgraded gunn red paint scheme to make it look like how it was in 1985-86 when the MTA repainted the R17,R21,R22,R26,R27,R28,R29,30,R33ML/WF,R36MLWF into the red paint scheme, and yes the stinky smell was removed, it was last seen in the april 2018 TOMC on the 7 line 9308 was given the same treatment as 9307 in late 2018 or mid 2019 (i'm not sure) the same exact blue and white paint scheme as 9307, and the stinky smell was removed. it was last seen in the 2019 parade of trains

I wonder why they don't fix these cars up and use them for specials... I am sure tons of NYCer's would love to ride these. And awesome catch! Being able to see old and new side by side. :)

What will happen to these cars once they are transferred over? EDIT: All four of these cars became museum cars.

Looking at these trains, I think these could be better than r46s and r62s. But r160s, r142/142a, and r188s are much better

Are the redbirds basically the IRT version of an R32?

I hope those cars aren't being scrapped! I would love to see them get restored.

March 31 was on Friday not Thursday and I like redbirds sometimes at night I see them driving but not in service
