Because of the Democrats and BLM shoplifting and fare evasion is no longer a crime .So blame them and not the police or security officers. We can only do but so much. Our hands are tied.
This is what happens when Democrats defend police. If you live there you voted for it or allowed them to steal their elections most likely so it is what it is. Those people need to look for their brain cells and start using them when they vote. The need to stop letting fools run their shit..
Crime is down no need for prosecutions Mayor Adams is doing a great job NYC is a paradise everywhere is safe business are booming keep borders open Kamala Harris 2024!
None of the New York politicians want to do any real work. Senator Chuck Schumer, Jerry Nadler, George Latimer, AOC. keep getting elected and getting rich, while the taxpayers suffer.
That is the same problem we have in California. I grew up in NYC and moved to California 22 years ago. Both NYC and California are a F***ing DUMP due to no prosecution and rampant theft. You can steal $1000 bucks worth of stuff in California and the system WILL NOT prosecute. After 22 years, we too are now leaving California. San Francisco is a Dump and many big retail and small business have left. I have just one and one question....Where the hell does our tax dollars go, oh wait let me see....to other countries and politicians pockets. I am sick, sick, sick and extremely tired of it.
I visit new york in january ...it was my dream...i am from poland....the amount of homelessness people there OMG and mental people also in subway....dirty city
My ancestors arrived in San Francisco from Germany in the late 1880s. All was lovely - I lived and worked there in the 1960s. The streets were safe, no theft, no trash. . . until 1964 when the Democrats took over and it's been a steady decline since. Kamala was DA and refused to prosecute, so drugs and crime took over.
@@sharonjbe6496 from which part of Germany did they come from? Too bad, that some US cities get more and more criminal, always wanted to visit some of these. Anyways, greetings from Germany! ☺️👋
What is the use of calling the police if they are not going to do anything. Especially if you are defending yourself you become the criminal. That is how they got crime down. People just do not report anymore
And fewer calls for police assistance. 'Why bother? They come hours later or tell us to come to the precinct. If someone is arrested, they are released soon after, the DA rarely prosecutes, and if that happens the court gives a slap on the wrist.'
When they say "crime is down" just remember if you stop arresting criminals you stop counting them as criminals. The number is probably 10x higher then they say at a minimum.
They do this for the new utopia, they purposely allow crime to go unpunished so one day they can come down hard with the hammer and punish people severely for the pettiest of things and pretend they are the hero's. - i wouldn't be surprised if in a decade they will bring back capital punishment. One world government is almost in their grasp, so close they can smell it.
30 years living in manhattan, it is definitely time to exit. The city I know is gone. NYC subways are such a shameful and embarrassing subway systems compared to other major cities’ In Europe and in Asia.
You all could try voting for someone different instead of voting for the same or worse. Something needs to be done but nobody is willing to change things.
In Japan they have spotless subways. Not one piece of trash. Clean bathrooms everywhere. The entire subway is full of all kinds of stores like a mall. Crepe stands and drink machines all over the platforms. Zero crime. So sad how we lowered our standards of living to this.
@@El_.5794 In Tokyo I never heard a siren. The policing is done by retiree security guards with no weapons. It is a homogenous society where people have respect each for each other. If you do commit a crime. Let's say shoplifting. If you are a citizen they keep you in jail for 3 weeks before anything else happens. If you are a foreigner they send you right back to your country of origin. Even if you come to Japan as a baby.
So they went from wanting to defund the police to We Need More Police? 🤦🏽♀️ They let the criminals get out of jail for free before the ink dries on the paperwork 🤷🏽♀️
and the way they treat police, they are damn lucky just to have the ones they have... they are losing their police force and I dont blame the cops for bugging out...
They're Democrats they want both! They want to defund and have more police! Do keep in mind they don't want the police to actually do anything. Unless the criminal is white.
Esos de Seguridad es la estacion del aeropuerto, estan por los carteristas, que estan en esa linea, la mayoria son del Este de Europa, no usan nunca violencia, pero roban y como hay camaras rapido llegan los de seguridad.
The left likes to say "Poverty creates Crime", but it's the other way around "Crime creates Poverty". If there is no safety, no integrity, then no businesses, no jobs, no prosperity.
Deserts are a good thing? It is needed in nature. Unlike crime in society. So that was not the right example. I get what you mean thou. I would say it is more like cancer: The more you not treat it the more it spreads and ruins everything.
Of course they're not disobeying laws ! They're just trying to earn some extra money so they can go to school ! They're all such good little boys and girls. 😏
I used to go to the Columbus Circle underground mall for lunch all the time. It was nice and a welcome retreat from the chaos above ground. Sad to see the city changing for the worse.
I visited NYC for five days, going to museums and other tourist stuff. I didn't have any problems on the subway in the daytime, saw a few bums camping out, but no one hassled me. As a senior citizen, I'm glad I saw New York one more time and doubt if I'll ever be back. Not that it's a consolation, but the crime, the drugs, the shoplifting, the bums camping out are happening in the other major cities, but probably faster in NYC. I'm glad I won't be around to see the worst of it. Thanks for your hard work, Cash. I gave you a thumbs up, but I can't watch for too long, LOL
"Remote work is to blame"... Really, so the guys in fatigues and armed with machine guns are there to fight remote work trends...lol keep up the denial.
Foot traffic is up ridership is up Mayor Adams is doing a great job NYC is a paradise everywhere is safe business are booming keep borders open Kamala Harris 2024!
Crime is not down. They've just done everything they can to ensure that crimes are not reported and that criminals are not prosecuted. A statistic is only as good as the data going into it.
It's astounding that the people of NYC put up with this crap when the solution to these problems are at the ballot box and they know it but they won't do what's necessary to make the change !
I think that when legislators decided to allow up to $900 per day (or per incident) of thievery -- and classified it as only a "misdemeanor" -- maybe these events aren't counted in the crime statistics. That might explain why some stores are getting robbed multiple times per day, but the statistics show that crime is "down." Same with car smash-and-grabs, bag snatching, and so on. What actually gets counted as a crime these days?
Did you see at the beginning of the video the tall black guy getting off the train and deliberately bumping into the Police Officer? No respect and no morals. Once a thug always a thug.
No? Not treating the problem will result in this but some people can change(depends on what they did, of course not talking about something like murder, ect. because they are a lost cause)
I mean New York City has been extremely diverse for multiple decades. Seems to me like the root of this issue has more to do with the people in charge at the municipal and federal level than anything else. Other than that, I generally agree with your sentiment. Edit: In the year 2000, merely 34% of the NYC population were white. My grandfather, who fought for Nazi Germany in WWII, was wounded in combat and taken as a POW, was less racist than many people commenting on this thread. And I am saying this as a conservative white male.
No body want to admit its their fault that NYC went to shit. From the voters to the mayor, its all their own fault. Keep voting blue, its great isn't it?
D-Voters: I will vote blue non-stop for 20 years *RESULTS:* Higher taxes, Higher crime, Increased Homeless&Immigrants, Higher Cost of Living D-Voters: I will vote blue non-stop for another 20 years
Last time I went to NYC, I rented a car because I didn't even want to risk getting mugged or hurt walking around or traveling on the subway. Even with that, I felt super vulnerable one evening when we stopped by a convenience store and a group of young punk thugs came up like they were looking for trouble. I don't feel that way in Texas where I live because I conceal and carry. I never want to feel like that again. Ever.
Most major cities ran by clowns are doing this. It's a social expirement done by the politicians that run them and the dummies that support these politicians are too dumb to see it.
Illegal* Immigration is necessary and great for this country. These people aren't even looking for asylum any more. They're looking to exploit, steal, and not contribute
It's so surprising that it has to be this way in the West in 2024. Metros and stations in China, Singapore, Tokyo, and Seoul for example, all offer a super pleasant experience, it's always clean, plenty of stores and other services, friendly service people & security staff, and above all, it is super safe. Everyone can travel alone, and nobody will ever feel unsafe. Wishing the best for everyone and hope it can change there someday soon :-)

Ever notice how many movies and TV shows there are now where the main character is a criminal or just someone ignoring the law for their own purposes? You don't really see that in old movies, but now it's normal for the bad guy to be the hero. To outsmart the cops who are stupid and corrupt anyways. And all these people robbing stores or subway riders, they're just trying to get by cause the system is against them and they've got no choice. Not a single person is calling for these criminals to face some accountability. As long as these criminals can getaway with any crime that they want, the problem will never be fixed.

Sounds like the evolution of a mall 101. I didn’t particularly choose online shopping. Mall shopping drove me to online shopping. Mall shopping became too irritating and stressful due to loud, rude, mostly non-customers making the mall not enjoyable.
@@josephfrechette9916 I didn’t experience that, but you may have 🤷♀️ I frequented a coffee shop and a gem store that was owned by a couple. Never Dillards. The rude obnoxious people are not frequenting bargain stores. They’re often just wandering around in packs killing time.

This is SO sad. I'm from Manhattan. (I moved Down South in August of 1995.) Anyway, I used to go to the "Subway Retail Stores." In fact, there was a jewelry store in the subway on 86th and Lexington Avenue. I had my ears pierced there, AND my mother put a wedding ring that she loved on lay-a-way there back in the late 1980s. I'm SO sorry to hear that Manhattan is SO crime ridden, which wasn't the case back then, that the stores are being forced to close. It's the end of an era. I weep for the future of Manhattan. This is the beginning of the end. Mark my words.
So, so different to the train stations we have in Tokyo, especially the major stations. Yes, we have shops in most of our stations, but never empty ones... indeed, I think there might be a waiting list. I think I'd be afraid to go into a New York subway station, as much out of fear of it collapsing on my head as for the level of crime there

Now I am fully remote, but the few times I went into 30R post pandemic had me really questioning if we had slipped into an alternate reality. The city, the vibe, the atmosphere, the people, everything is night and day from what it was in just a matter of a couple years. A hollow shell of what once was. It’s happening because we let it. We have this carnivorous need to consume cheap crap. We vote people into office that allow it. WE are the problem. WE let this happen.
It is just one policy that they are voting for. It doesn't matter to them about all the other policies. They just concentrate on the one thing that they want like abortion rights, women's rights. They don't even think about the other policies included. I call this plain old ignorance. They need to look at the full picture, not just the one thing they want. They don't care about the rest of it. We will be getting another 4 years of Biden and Harris. I guess they don't care really. How dumb.
It’s fun because where I live (Brussels) there has also been a fall in subway businesses… through relocation. Three businesses close in a problem station (most notably near areas with tons of minorities) and one opens in a “safe” station at the same times. So you can still have some mini shopping centers close to some stations and ghost towns in others.
I've seen the movie, "Escape from New York." Is the plan to drive everyone who is not a criminal out of the city then close the bridges and create a giant prison ?
