I walk the entirety of Bay Street in the NYC borough of Staten Island from the St. George Ferry Terminal to Von Brieson Park, overlooking the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. I pass through the neighborhoods of St. George, Tompkinsville, Stapleton, Clifton, Rosebank, and Shore Acres.

After 5 years, this is amazing to look back at Brooklyn during the late 2010s and what may have changed. It makes it even more exciting for what may lie in the next 5 to make a 10 year comparison.

This just popped up for me! I was a Letter Carrier from 1974 -1989 on SI. In fact most of my time was spent in Saint George and Stapleton with delivery routes on Bay Street from the ferry all the way to Rosebank. Lots of memories. Staten Island virtually never changes, and never for the best. The forgotten Borough. For example, whatever happened to the New York Wheel? I could have predicted that. I must have wore a path on those sidewalks. Living in Berlin, Germany now and like you Kid, my walking days continue. Love your stuff!

Shit brought back some loverly memories for me i live here in England have done foe 50 years but i was born and grew up in Staten Island till i was 12 then moved to N.J i lived at Victory Blvd this was in the 50 and early 60s my first school was PS16 last time i went back was 2012 went to see my old home but it was gone the burnt down i was told looked weird because both buildings on either side were still standing and where i lived just a gap but i have many happy memories growing up there many places i remember are gone and rebuilt but when you came of the ferry and started walking man got my bearings back and my childhood came back

Used to live and own a restaurant in that area for 12 years , what a waste of time and quality of life , Staten Island is one of the shiniest places I ever been. I’m originaly from Germany

Thank you for the upload. I don't understand this American infrastructure at all. Is this supposed to be a working poor class environment, or middle class? Or what? It all looks so poor. Cheap slabs, electricity above ground (poles), cracked streets and so many more things.
