Enjoy this walking tour of the Statue of Liberty, where I explore the colossal national monument all the way up to the pedestal, her crown, as well as the museum!
The Statue Cruises ferry is currently the only way to get onto Liberty Island and Ellis Island. Don't fall to scams by ticket sellers claiming to go to the Statue of Liberty!

5:31 - Top of the Pedestal Balcony
8:00 - Beginning of the climb to the Crown (162 Steps!)
12:09 - The Crown!
14:43 - A glimpse of the Torch
16:30 - Descending to the Top of the Pedestal
20:25 - Top of the Pedestal (Again)
21:08 - Elevator Room
21:51 - Deciding to take the Stairs down

I'm sure I speak for all the elderly out there who cannot climb all those steps: "THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing your trip to this American icon"! It brought tears to my eyes when I realized you were going to video your whole trip inside and outside. You did a great job and I really appreciate no narrative or music, it made the exploration seem like I was actually there (except for the smells and the temperature). Keep up the good work and videoing.

I could not agree more! That was hard work, no matter how young you are. Hopefully, the crown will still be open when I go in late March. This video gave me an idea of what to look for and expect. Thanks again!

I have only been to the S of L one time and that was around 1951 - 1952 when I was 6 or 7. The perspective is so different looking at it as an adult because I was a very short kid then and the walls around the stairs were close to my height as I remember. We could walk right up to the windows of the crown to look out and they had special booster boxes that kids could stand on so they were high enough to look out. Thanks so much for the excellent video.

They used to have a picture service where you could have your picture taken at the top but with all the cell phones & cameras now I guess they don't need it. Also when you got to the top the used to give you a gold coloured coin with her head on it as a momento. Thank you so much. Take care and stay safe. 👻🤘

I went to the Statue of Liberty when I was 17. That was in 1987, wow. Some of the views came back from memory. There wasn't any barriers by the windows and there wasn't a lot of Rangers all over. Lot more electronics too. There wasn't even a museum to go through. It was very busy and crowded then. It took us about 2 hrs to go to the crown and we only got to look out for about a few minutes. The day I went it was a smog around the city. Couldn't see anything but her feet. The torch was closed off too. It was nice to see it again and see all the changes over the years. My poor knees couldn't handle climbing the stairs anymore. God bless and stay safe.

I visited the Statue of Liberty back in the mid 1960s. As a young man and full of energy, I got off the boat first and raced all the up to the crown. All the people that had been up to the top were working their way down so the stairs up and the crown were empty except for me. My first impression was of disappointment. I had visions that the windows in the crown were like big picture windows and of course they are quite small. That being said, I had 10 or 15 minutes all to myself to just look out the windows and enjoy the view. I started to hear the other people from the boat nearing the top so I started down. Half way down, I saw my Mom and Dad and little sister on their way up so I joined them and went back up. The inside looks different now that they rebuilt the statue and there are a lot more people and all the park rangers. It is still quite something to see and I am glad I had the chance to do it.

People stood at the top of the tower looking down to observe the natural scenery of the sea, far away a city appeared before their eyes. The small alleys that follow each other take people to the point of the tower Inside is a common space for everyone to visit The architecture and design are diverse and creative, with a number of horizontal pillars and oversized metal frames supporting a large tower and walkways through the rooms. The stairs are solid and have places for people to get up and down easily

Only time I visited NYC was when I was around 8 years old on a trip to visit extended family. But it was right after 9/11 so mom didn't want us to go to any big tourist attractions like the Statue of Liberty. Beside sitting around in my great aunt's Brooklyn apartment with her 10 cats the only thing we did was go to the Central Park zoo lol. It is cool to be able to see the Statue of Liberty this way. One day I will get back to NYC and do all the touristy things.

Excellent video - thank you. We were in New York a few years ago but we had to leave after about five days - we couldn't stand all the air pollution and it was making us ill. We live in a rural area and are just not used to all the exhaust fumes and we weren't able to visit the Statue of Liberty.

Watcher I did to. I was pregnant at the time. I would not recommend going to the crown when pregnant. Too claustrophobic.

I been there three times in my life, once when I was a young girl 1964..Then I went when I was in my early twenties, back in early 1970's and when I got to the crown there was graffiti on some of the walls and around the crown windows..I was so annoyed seeing that, because back in 1964 it was all painted green and clean..I took my boys in 2002, but at the time Miss Liberty was closed to her crown..So we went to Ellis Island that day...I haven't been back, but enjoy this video.. So much has changed inside of Miss Liberty..I remember seeing all the inside construction of Miss Liberty as you climb the stairs. Now I see in this video they closed her around inside, can't see all her wood beams and such on how she was made..The stairs have changed too, much more modernized and brighter..But when you get to the crown, you can see all the construction inside her crown part..And I do remember those tiny spiral steps when you reach her crown..I never got to ever go to her torch..Not sure if anyone else ever did either.

I'm recalling some of the excellent vision here after doing the tour back in 1991 when visiting from Australia. Certainly a memorable one from banging my head while climing the intertwining stairs to crown. If you are over 6 feet take care. It was also a hot September day and it was fairly hot with lots of sweaty tourists. We had to continue moving due to the numbers and could not stop for long to view out of the crown. The climb down was a challenge as it also had low headroom. Would like to go back...but take the helicopter trip.

Great video. Outstanding how steady you held the camera. I thought it was a camera in your front pocket or go pro glasses until I seen your shadow. I woulda had it pointed in every shaken direction.lol Thanks for sharing.

Great video....wow, I feel like I've been there now. I live in Australia & don't know if I'll ever get there in person. It's a long way away from here. (Everything is such a long way away from here..haha.) It's such an amazing statue; so historic, so iconic.. Guarding New York's harbour all these years - such a landmark and an emblem of freedom for so many people. Thank you for making this.
